6 months is enough to become to be landed a junior developer role! Nowadays they look for people with more or less 5 years experience for a junior developer role. That's insane.

After homeschooling for my high school career, and getting my American GED. I applied to a private international college here in Joburg, and I got accepted to do Software Development! I start tomorrow so it's been very valuable hearing from people with real experience like you and it sets my mind at ease, I only touched coding once for a week or so learning a bit of C++ to make a calculator so I was nervous about the idea of going into a professional learning environment for it, but I think I'll do fine :)

Nothing, its an okay programme but not tailor made for the South African market. Theres better platforms in SA like WeThinkCode, Umuzi etc. Rather you try the South African based platforms then if you cant get space then go for ALX

IT is programming focused learning whilst computer science has a lot more maths. For someone not interested in too much maths IT is a good option.
