I agree! It would allow us to build in rivalries down the road. Which is how rivalries happen, a lot of close games, some smack talk and time and you have a new rivalry
Yeah I would love to see that as well! Especially if you move a team to another conference, or even if you have had some tough close games with a team that isn't a real life rival. So many features they could add that I feel like aren't hard to implement

We need FCS schools back. With the ability to put them in even if we can't play FCS right off. Miami FAMU is a low key rivalry game. They need this I also think for coach building purposes.
I would love to have FCS schools in the game even if it was like a 30-40 dollar DLC. Would add so much replay ability especially if you could add them to the regular FBS pool
The not being able to protect rivalries really does suck. Ohio State and Michigan do not play annually if certain modifications to the Big Ten are made, like changing the number of teams in the conference or the number of conference games played in a season.
There should be a whole game mode to play as "a conference" and you could have a fantasy draft of teams or run it how it is and work to bring good programs in and work to become the best confrence, creating scheduling deals, tv deals, etc
Selecting protected rivals is crucial, especially for custom teams. I hate that uploading a custom team means that you keep the replaced team's rivals. They also need to let you adjust your conference schedule. The rotation logic is broken. I'm 5 years into a custom conference with 12 teams and I play the same 8 teams every year.
That is 1 of my 2 gripes with team builder is you just replace the team fully. And I also agree with the conference schedule there are many years where I play the same 7-8 teams or my rivalry game is at home for three straight seasons. They can auto generate just let us manipulate it a little
Protected rivalries is a weird one. Chris Fowler mentions setting protected rivalries in the custom conference narration but it's not there lol. So yeah that and auto realignment would be cool. I remember old games where teams like Indiana would be moved to the MAC and other teams would move around. That could be cool
Yeah I don’t understand them not having the rivalry thing since it’s mentioned multiple times. And the auto realignment would make for some cool layouts and not make you do too much but still see things change. I feel like I’m always being biased when I move teams lol
Here is a video idea you should realign the 2007 college football season that was the year before the WAC was removed and it has the most aligned stuff or something around that time

Id like a start from scratch feature. Rename the conferences they way you like and completely revamp and delete the bias. Maybe even a conference draft feature that can be implemented yearly. This is something I believe the NCAA should have considered doing back in the early 2000s when they still had the power. The power is no longer in the NCAAs hands. It's really became the SEC and Big 10 versus the other conferences with the power of the NCAA dwindling. Id narrow it down to 80 teams 8 conferences, at the FBS level play every one in your conference at 9 games then you have to play 1 team out of 3 conferences and it has to change yearly. Top seed is taken out of every conference for the first 8 in the playoffs. 2-3 seeds out of every conference plays a head to head for the final 8. There being a combined 64 teams at the FCS level FCS National champion takes the spot of the last place FBS school yearly with the last 2 teams playing a game to see who stays. With a conference realignment every 4 years. I always thought the NCAA should have done this and not relied on the SEC dominance because it backfired on them
I like that idea there is something similar going on behind the scenes currently its called project Rudy and instead of 8 conferences and 80 teams its 70 teams and 5 conferences I believe. I also like your start from scratch feature as well!
@@theEWDSDS They had power in the sense of what the schools and conferences were allowed to do. But now they are just a figure head. But back before the 1950s the NCAA actually did control the media deals so they could basically strong arm schools to doing what they wanted.

Love your last idea. With schools actually constantly getting better or starting to tank and fall out. But with that I'd like protections on the conference. SEC is very stingy on who they let in. I would want to be 3 years deep and they kick someone out to put someone like Tulsa in. But I would like the idea of smaller conferences actually trying to get better or the ACC big 12 searching for new up and comers to compete with the big 10 and SEC.
The old NCAA 10 basketball game had an auto realignment feature but just for your team. It could be similar and based off things like win % and/or prestige and even NIL or the grade of it in the game
This is not related to the video, but just wanted to know if you knew what to do. Let’s say you do a lot of realignment, but you wanted to choose another dynasty with a different team. Can you copy the realignment so you don’t have to do it all over again
Unfortunately you can’t copy and paste a realignment. That’s an amazing feature of they could ever add it or something similar to the download thing for team builder so people can create alignments and all you need to do it download it would be nice

I’d love the ability to lock in rivalries for custom conferences I did it a little with my Cal dynasty but I had to implement divisions

Yes it doesn't make sense, the biggest rivalry in college football (depends on who you ask) won't play like that would never happen

They should make it so team builder teams don’t need to replace another team like 2k
That may be the single biggest improvement they could make to team builder along side actually getting to select location and rivals

The NCAA never had power over conferences because the NCAA is only a regulatory body. The conferences are created by the schools.
