I've been singing GT4's praises since it was just the Porsche and BMW. Love that it's getting more and more popular. It's the perfect transition from MX5 to GT3.
I understand that accessibility is important for iRacing to grow, but the ideal "career" path to me would be R-MX5 -> D-TCR -> C-GT4 -> B-GT3 -> A-LMP. It's a steady increase in speed and systems complexity that fosters organic development of racecraft.
Started online simracing around 2006 and was invited to iracing 2008. Stopped online racing around 2015 and all simracing in 2018. Watching you're content couple moths or so and I'm itching to come back, literally itching😊 need to fix my simcube first as it's dead. Would be nice to race with you Dave on track, keep it sending my fellow old dog:)
Nice drive Dave, off-tracks aside 😜 and agreed, definitely a great combo. I really enjoy the GT4s anyway, and this is a good track for them and had a couple of fun races this weekend too. But at any point.... 😁
Hi Dave, this vid shows that the cars are all pretty close, it's really driver skill that wins races in GT4, any car can win, that's why I do like it. But what do you do to the Porsche to keep in manageable? My racing rig is in Transit as I just moved house to a new State (4000km from the last place) and I'm anxiously waiting on it's arrival so I'm getting my fix on your stuff and basic ollie :)
There's a reason they don't run prototypes at Lime Rock IRL. That being said we had a pretty good imsa endurance race. Got tagged a couple of times but only once that needed repairs and that was only 1 min of required. Avoided a LOT of carnage though. I actually can't wait until MPC next weekend with the classic layout.
I just did the gt4 falken challenge race with the caymen on imola. Am I missing something this car had some insane understeer and felt like it was so slow.
I've never played iRacing, just the F1 games, but can you alter the amount of fuel in your car before the race? Didn't know if that would give you a little extra speed or performance

I renewed my iRenting subscription for a month but I promised myself to not make any additional purchases. So, what GT4 car would you recommend?
"Goodbye my friend", then the Merc took me out lol. (Although he said he hold the brake and nothing he can do) (but maybe my fault also not fully avoid him, only one been taken out hahaha, just not turned enough left to avoid)
And yep GT4 are fun, but in fixed M4 maybe a little "sh*tbox" lol, took an open series after this one with 570s then saw a battle from 5th to 10th, in the train, although I'm the 10th and at last still 8th with someone gone out, very fun cars but I hate the curbs in imola lol
Is there a less expensive alternative to I racing? I am disabled and on a limited income so cannot pay close to a thousand dollars to use I racing. I used to have the Thrustmaster TMX but life happened and had to sell it now I am going to get back into sim racing again. I have raceroom and Asseto corsa but dont want to get into a sim with a monthly sub and very high pay to play like I racing.
Gotta love how iRacing ruined the chicanes at Imola and Montreal. They are hard enough to get right as it is, lets just make the off track even more ridiculous to kill Safety Rating.

I always pick the "slowest" car in every series I race in nowadays. Well, that's my excuse and I'm sticking with it 🙃

GT4 has been the most exciting this week. On the other hand, IMSA at Lime Rock has been a total disaster.
Lime Rock should be added to "that list" of tracks.. painful week, more with the endurance race in that place.

gt4 much slower and no downforce
The gt4s are just a softer version. Not as quick, don't stop as well and softer suspension. Oh, and less downforce 👍

Iracing/LFM need to do far more to punish people not holding brakes to be honest, it's one of the worst things anyone can do.

You should give ACC a go. It's superb for a lot of people. Unfortunately there is only iracing and ACC with active online racing

mcalren is quickest in one lap but is dreadful on tires. nobody in my gt4 league runs it because the fuel mileage and tires
