as one of Janji's founders, I have to say I really enjoyed this honest take--our whole design team watches (and learns) from your videos! really appreciate everyone's comments too... love this community and congrats on 100k subscribers!
Hi Dave, so nice to see makers and creators of such brands on here. While we have your ear, how about loose running shorts for women like myself who don’t want the exposure that 4” and 3” shorts bring (we are not all perfectly toned pros or semi pros) and also don’t want the horrid and embarrassing frontal…. “definition” that tights sometimes cause on the female anatomy? I’m actually to the point of thinking that I need to sport men’s shorts to allow myself the freedom to run without feeling over exposed as a lone female runner. I now see where Courtney Duwalter is going with her look 🙂 Many thanks!
@@MsCMR80 look for something from us next spring that is very similar to what you're looking for... we're just showing it to stores now and it's been a HIT. also won't compromise on color, which is important
Hey Dave, perhaps you could get look to get your stuff in to some local stores here in SE Asia, for example here in Singapore, have shipped quite a bit of your stuff from the US before but always put off by the shipping costs, but thankful for the Janji Collective discount 😉
I love their materials, their colors and patterns, and their clean water initiatives. I just ran a Half in their half tights and they were perfect. So many pockets!
Janji slowly and quietly has taken over a lot more of my drawer than I realized...3 pair of 3" split shorts, 1 pair of half tights, and 1 pair of the latest groundwork tights. Boy do I appreciate their attention to details!
Switching to running in half tights was a game changer for me. No more flip belt, no more chafing, no more fabric flapping in the wind. Never going back to shorts. And Janji's tights are definitely awesome. They also have the best running hat I've ever found. The AFO Hyperlight cap is perfect.
Thank you for the great Janji review Kofuzi.🌟These running clothes look amazing . They look suttle enough to be everyday urban wear to go out and grab a snack or coffee as well.I really like the darker emerald green color singlet which looks very mellow and earthy and the half tights and the 5 inch shorts. The 4 inch shorts w the splt mIght be good to wear on an extremely hot day w humidity but I definitely wouldn't want to wear those into a Starbucks for a snack or coffee. These Janji are very cool and stylish and I can see why you like them as they can double over into casual urban everyday street wear..Kalif🏃🌒
Bought Janji because of you (never planned to use it for running just like the way they had zipper pockets). Now I'm under 3 weeks out from my first half marathon. Bought the Endorphins Speed per your suggestion I have wider feet and really enjoy them. Follow you on Strava too and look forward to your review of the Ride 15. Thanks a lot your reviews really coming in clutch.
Glad to hear they’re addressing the sweat showing in their non-black shorts. I’m a not so proud owner of a pair of Janji Pee Pants (AFO). Super comfy but won’t use them for anything but short easy runs, which is a bummer given price.
Funny, I was just thinking about whether you have ever reviewed clothing... I was thinking of socks specifically, but I guess this answers my original question.
I don’t really dig their shorts as much as my others but their tights…. Those things are amazing. Well worth the price and after you get one you’ll definitely buy more. Their singlets and shirts are pretty dope.
I have so many black tights I’ll wait until they have some different colors back in stock but some of those pockets on the half tights look incredibly functional
Janji 5” shorts are my favorite. Super lightweight, awesome waistband, so comfy and the colors and artist series patterns are awesome! It’s nice to wear technical products that are colorful and unique.
I really really like Janji apparel but will have a hard time buying anymore of their running shorts. The pockets are really an issue for me as I like to carry my phone and there are other shorts that accommodate it much better
I find I don’t like my phone in any short pockets really. If I had to choose I would say the back pocket on half tights are the best but I generally use my Nathan handheld for my phone
I use a Sport2People running belt pouch to hold my large iPhone pro max and AirPod case. A belt pouch is the best option IMO-convenient and comfortable. I wouldn’t want to put my phone in any shorts, ever.
Permastink! Hahaha I have a few of those. Love their half tights the pockets look exceptionally well thought out and functional. I hope they get some more colors back in stock though. The colorway you have looks better in your video than on the website I will say though
it's kind of hard for me to parse out because there are 3 materials in the shirt. part of that shirt is merino which I typically associate with warmth, but there is also the 37.5 material in the shirt, which has properties that are specifically geared towards reducing humidity near the skin. it's not clear from the 37.5 website if there is actual volcanic ash in the fibers or if volcanic ash was the starting point of this technology.
This is perfect timing, I'm thinking about snagging a pair of the half-tights for my upcoming 100-miler attempt. Do they fit tight like compression shorts? I'm looking for chafe prevention lol.
they aren't compressive, per se, but they do fit like compression shorts... we know a lot of people who wear it for ultras. but PLEASE wear test it before you run that 100!
Compared to my other go-to shorts (Janji 3”, Rabbit FKT 3”, Patagonia Strider Pros), my Groundwork 9” half tights have been so fantastic, they’ve shaken my allegiance to #TeamShortShorts some. 🤣 A pocket for your phone and never an issue with chafing…win-win. FWIW I wear my usual 6” athletic boxer briefs under them.
an impressive collections review! I am really love to hv a Janji bottoms but I am really confused about the size chart at the website. (Example: M’s AFO size M waist 29.5-31.5). Is it really that small? I normally wear size M for Nike/NB/Patagonia. I am not stay in US, so, can’t return easily. BTW, what is the size of your AFO in the video?
Got to be honest. As I was in Chicago the last few days for a School Class Trip, I was secretly hoping to see you out there running. Although today was rainy and overcast it was a great trip with great weather when we were walking around, on Navy Pier, and when we took a River and Lake Cruise.
overall, I can say that I have tried Decathlon road running, trail running, and cycling products. Decathlon does a great job of what it's trying to do. I can also say that I have tried multiple seasons of Janji apparel, and Janji does a great job of what it's trying to do. they're both for running, but they have different objectives
A discount code for your viewers would have been a nice touch. I have some Janji items and like them all. I really want to try the janji 8 half tight. 85 USD for a pair of shorts to run in makes me think twice though.
I still can’t get used to stashing my phone into a side pocket. Is it feasible to store a regular iPhone into the back pocket of the half tights even though it’s really meant for gels? Is the seam enough to stop it from popping out?
I always wear these with my phone in the deeper of the side pockets. but you definitely can throw the phone into the back and it'll be fine to wear there!
Never worn half tights, do you typically wear anything under them/would you recommend it for these? I wear compression shorts under winter tights but that is mainly for warmth. Thanks for the video, very nice and concise. I have janji groundwork full length winter tights and like them a lot.
Mo this is a great review! Even though these items are not made specifically for the female form, I am digging the look and the materials. Would you say that the 7” shorts could easily fit a woman’s shape? I’m sick of tiny-ass shorts only being made available for women. I mean, I’d be all for it if I were 20 yrs younger but as a 42!yr old mom, I’m not into showing my ass to all the random dudes along the city streets where I’m forced to run. And then there are the short tights…. 🐫 😵💫😮💨

@@kofuzi just curious, how many years have you been creating content on YT?
Summer running in Chicago. I usually run in short shorts and no shirt.
👍
The merino blend, you said is temp? regulating? Does it hold perspiration tho or wick it? Great overview of the line :)
