Probably people who don’t like killing animals but if I were a cow, I would want my meet to be cooked and my leather to be used, not to die of old age and be buried and nothing happen to me. That way, I can say “I am that jacket and I may save that biker from getting road burn” or “I am that steak that that man is enjoying.”
@@differentlyabledmuslimjewi4475 uhhhh other than the green bracers and spaulders being blue, they are all tooled in relative similar style with a dragon fanged/scale style. If you look at individual parts of many armor sets they dont seem like they would sit right together with their slight variations on individual styles, but together they flow together as a whole.

You can add the antique finishing with a black acrylic paint as well. They are about 50 cents for a 2oz bottle. The process is pretty simple. Water down the paint to 50/50. Apply and wait a few seconds then clean.

Love the videos. If you're looking for ideas for future videos, I'd like to see the process in which you plan/design your builds. How you figure out how everything should fit together nicely before moving onto leather. For those that might want to design their own pieces.

Awesome videos and ideas! Will definitely start building them! As a "sasquatch" myself (194 centimeters 100kilograms) can you please advise what scale would be better ? I really don't want to start with 1:1 scale and see that there is 10% missing on the pattern and start over with the paper models. Is 8-10% more or less enough for tall guys ?

An option for making patterns more durable is to glue the pattern to a sheet of countertop laminate, then use a Dremel or router to trim the pattern. Unfortunately this means some patterns may need to be made twice if there is a fair amount of offset trim, such as the cuff from this video.

Is there a method to get a fluting effect seen on Gothic Armour? One that pushes the leather out into a peak, rather than stamping it in like with tooling done here?
Yes. The antique gel/paste will dye leather that does not have some kind of resist on it. Sometimes a person might want to use that on undyed leather to get an aged look like on a belt or knife sheath.

Do you not worry about the antiquing on the inner faces? I always have the hugest dilemma/stress over getting unwanted dye/antique/etc on the insides, even if they're not going to be seen when worn.

i noticed u used premade gloves to slide into the finger straps. do u have a tutorial on how to make gloves. otherwise ill be for ever condemned to go out and by gloves to sow these scales too.
Leather dyes are translucent, so you'll have to use paint. Angelus paints would be a good option. They make acrylic paints specifically designed for use on leather.

Chicago screws leave a set gap that allows articulations to rotate freely rather than bind. You can carefully set rivets with a gap but they are more susceptible to bending out of place if too much pressure is applied when they aren't fully set.
Unfortunately I can't share with you the stuff you've inspired me to make as I stay away from social media. But let's just say my halloween costume at the ren faire is going to be amazing
Since you're done with all these patterns for the armor now I was wondering if you could turn all the patterns into tile form since I brought almost the entire collection of patterns and do not have a computer to print anything out and print out everything from my Android phone and it is impossible for me to format any of the patterns in tile form on my Android phone with any app there is and it'll cost me an arm and a leg to go to Staples or any other place to print out the actual patterns I hope you do change them into tile for at least have the option for that for people like me and you would probably sell a lot more of them if you did have that option instead of having people spending even more money because honestly the majority of people today do not have computers they have just their phones which act like computers unless you want to design a new app honestly I would buy the last three patterns off of you but I really don't want to spend any more money unless you switch them to tile form and I've talked to many other people that also agree with me and also make more than one size of the pattern and stop telling people to scale the size to what you needed to be which it's a little annoying and a lot more people that are selling patterns make at least two or three sizes so it'd be a lot easier for people to use your patterns and buy them these are just a few suggestions you probably won't listen to what I'm saying but it would probably help with your sales anyways have a good day and I hope you don't take offense to what I'm saying I'm just speaking how I feel and other people do too
Thanks for your input. What you are requesting is already something you can do. You can use the option to 'Print to PDF' , then you will have a PDF document of 'normal' pages you can print. But all this does is add an unnecessary step because you can already print the pages normally by clicking one check box in a capable PDF reader. I don't know what issues people are having their phones but having a printer or some way to print is just par for the course if you're buying a digital pattern. I specifically design the patterns so they can be scaled for perfect fit and provide additional instructions in the videos where applicable for other adjustment options. We're not sizing a t-shirt over here, armor needs to fit well to function well. I don't like the idea of offering cookie cutter sizes. I'm offering the same type of design foundation I use in my premium custom suits.
Do you have any patterns for a Sugarloaf Crusader Great Helm, the one with a rounded and slightly pointed top for deflection rather than the flat older flat top Great Helm, all I can find is foam cosplay patterns that have no real understanding of armour and how it conforms to human anatomy, rather than just being a flat surface. Also a pattern or a more historical Breastplate would be appreciated if possible? The type that has a globe shape and cuts at the natural waist to allow for movement, instead of cutting at the hips which is restrictive.
It's not a pattern perse but over at the channel "Knyght Errant" he has a vid where he goes over a globose coat of plates, watch it a few times and with a bit of paper practise I'm sure ya could rip a template off that -
@@apoccooking4364 I've watched all of Knyght Errants vids lol. I'm not sure how one would go about patterning from a video though. I only know how to pattern myself by wrapping something is cling film and tape.
@@RainMakeR_Workshop Yeah it can be a royal pita but I kinda grew up doing that (mum made historical costumery so often all we had was the proportions of the customer and a picture; I picked up the skill from her) Really all there is to it is, get a pad of paper and take 400 screenshots as it shows what you need, sketch what you can see, and start testing out of poster board or whatever cheap, stiff material you can, tweaking designs as you go until the pieces are how you want. Takes practise but after a bit it's almost second nature. Angles can be a bit of a problem, but that's why I was always taught to fold the paper and copy the least distorted side (This channel's discord is amazing btw, the folks over there are super helpful and could probably explain it way better than I can, ik this method's been mentioned before)

Would it be acceptable to use a bandsaw to cut out leather when working with huge templates?
I'm not sure why you would when hand cutting is so easy and convenient but you can do whatever you want at the end of the day.

Why would you use screws rather than a cappedrivet ?
Chicago Screws are preferred for articulation joints. Double capped rivets are used here too for any fixed sections.

I don't have a pattern currently but may in time when we get to garment leather tutorials but that will come much later

making white armor is a can of worms, more of an advanced technique and has its cons and pros, venture forth at your peril.

A great place for armor patterns is www.armourarchive.org/patterns/ They are primarily for historic metal parts, but leather adopts to it quite well.
