    A BIT ABOUT ME: I consider myself to be an average rider. Not good with jumps, corners, and not very fast. As I continue to try and improve I find myself becoming more and more passionate about riding and wish I could do this every day. I watched many others start a MTB UA-cam channel and thought it would be fun to start my own. All of them are really good riders and do an amazing job giving out information about trails, gear, and tips. I would like to think I could help review trails that aren’t as well known to encourage more bike traffic. Their channels really motivated me to move forward and put my own little twist on trail rides and mountain biking. I will do my best to inspire people to get out and ride and find people to share my adventures with.
    Always on a quest to find great mountain bike trails, awesome mountain bike friends, helpful mountain biking tips, and amazing MTBing Adventures.

    That ditch is the old NID ditch. There are really cool salamanders you can find in it.

      I love that ditch and how far it goes. I sat in it after the bike park to cool off. Felt so good

    There's some good stuff on that side of the canyon if you don't mind climbing up the road from the bottom a couple times.

    Back 20 years ago we would go down to the river and cross at the old coffer dam. The river was going through a tunnel because of the proposed Auburn Dam. We would cross and go up to Cool to the Olmsted
    Loop and then come back. Cardiac was a bitch to climb. The horses had worn a deep groove. Our pedals would hit the sides of the groove.

    • @mtbingadventures1551

      I was thinking about trying to cross right down by the river there. It's to bad they don't have the dam any more so that could still be done. I would like to see a way to ride all the way around the lake without having to go on any roads. I don't think a lot would need to be done to make a MTB trail all the way around. Just a place to cross the river and open up the non bike trails to bikes and it would be pretty much ready to go. Not to sure how to get from Cool to Darrington trail though.

    Yeah feels like something I rode in the 90s dropping into the old dam site. Trail that goes to Folsom lake (Rattlesnake bar) is most definitely off limits to bikes, as it is going up river too. Advocates need to push for a single track connection from Auburn down to pilot hill and then open up that connection to multi use to GB for a full dirt lake loop.

    • @mtbingadventures1551
      @mtbingadventures1551  2 місяці тому

      I agree, I rode all the way around Folsom lake once a long time ago. Not easy to do with all the off limit sections to bikes. There is a lot of good potential in that area. It makes sense to get more in that area especially since the bike park is there.

    Welcome to my old stomping grounds. I grew down river from those trails. You take the Robie Point Trail on hwy 49 at the top of Auburn SRA all the way down to the Pioneer trail to Folsom Lake. Really you can take the network of trails all the way to Sacramento once you hit the American River bike trail. You are right across the river from the Olmstead Loop in Cool CA.
    Check out this trail on AllTrails.

      That's a really cool spot in there. I was kinda hoping more trails would get built in this area. It is rare that I go there and ride but would love to see someone put some great singletrack in. The bike park is a great warm up spot before hitting the trails. Seems like shuttle runs would be doable as well.

      That place is pretty smooth. I like how you can get some pedaling in and then hit the bike park afterwards or before hand. Kind of a hidden little gem in that area.

    Watched your video yesterday and rode this tonight. What a blast! Cardiac ALL the way down (stay right and off of Cardiac Bypass Trail) has some serious sections, at least for my skill level. Thanks for sharing this. I plan on going back and checking out some more in that area.

      The lower third of Cardiac is the most fun part. The first two thirds are the challenging part.

  • @jacobkoder4903
    @jacobkoder4903 2 роки тому

    Ok. So, you got the techy first third. The middle third is also techy (starts where you dropped to the road). The last third (the fun part) you just missed as you came down the long exposed trail after the overlook and doubled back. You'd continue straight to join it.
    You can hit all of it together if you just stay right like you mentioned. It's a good challenge and pays off with fun at the bottom.
    Have fun!

    Nice adventure! I've always wondered what it was like in the hills there on a bike in gold country. That's a nice place to go if you live in Reno and are anxious for Spring and mountain biking season to start when it's still too cold and snowy in Reno in February while that time of year in Auburn is enjoying early spring season.

    Rode this canal this morning with my gf for her first mtb ride. I usually use it to access the side trails to get down to Oregon and China bars. Ran into a grumpy lady who was adamant about telling us the canal is not a bike trail. We are nice and always yield to everyone else, hikers, bikers and especially equestrians. She was literally scolding us after we came to a full stop off to the side so she could pass. Been riding this canal for almost 20 years now and it's great for beginners trying to build strength and for accessing some cool downhill trails but every once in a while I come accross someone who absolutely loathes bikers. So my question is does anyone know for sure if this trail prohibits mountain bikes? Because in 2 decades I've never seen any signage or heard of any prohibition of bikes on this trail.

    • @mtbingadventures1551
      @mtbingadventures1551  Рік тому +1

      That's too bad. I've always thought it was bike legal. I've ride it several times and never had a problem. Seems like a great trail for beginners and just get some fresh air. I took my daughter on her first MTB ride on that trail. It would be great to know the answer. They should post signs saying no bikes if that is the case. If I hear anything I'll let you know.

      @@mtbingadventures1551 yeah kinda left a sour taste in my mouth. I grew up here and I always take beginners and kids on it because it's perfect for that. I understand where those people are coming from because I have encountered rude bikers while hiking it but I just move to the side and continue on. I know there has been a little controversy over increased bike traffic since the bike park got put in but most of the time people are super friendly and even apologetic for making me stop my ride to yield to them. I ride it almost every day as a warm up before I hit cardiac hill and cardiac bypass and slmost never have any issues, plus I see people riding out there all the time. There is signage prohibiting dirt bikes lol really the only reason I would stop riding it is if it will cause trouble for the bike park.
      Anyways, cool channel friend! If you're ever in auburn and need a trail buddy feel free to hit me up! I guess we may have to just stick to culvert trail aw darn! 🤣

      @@iantomas5556 yeah, it's never a good feeling to have someone act like that. No need for it at all. If I find a source verifying that bikes are OK on those trails. I'll be sure to share it so all you'll have to do is show it to them and they can't say anything else. Hopefully the rules do allow bikes.
