My baby used to wake at 5am,he's now 8 years old and STILL wakes at 5am! We've learned to embrace the dawn,it's actually a lovely time of the day that most people miss.
It did take some getting used to. We tried everything to get him to sleep in a little later-black out blinds, adjusting his day time naps, later bed times-nothing worked. Some people are early birds,he's just one of them. We adjusted to it by going to bed earlier ourselves. Good luck!
Alexa looks so peaceful and she is T.H.E. cuuuutest baby I've ever seen!!!! I looove your insta stories in the morning when she has the loveliest puffed eyes 🤗🤗🤗😍❤
The intro of the video is amazing, this whole video is amazing, your apartment is amazing, you is amazing, alexa is amazing, alex is amazing. I just love you so much & i’m so grateful for you, because without you I wouldn’t be who I am today. SO MUCH LOVE TO YOUR FAMILY.
Mimi, please dont apologize for not wearing makeup. We're all here to see the real you. In fact, constantly presenting yourself on the internet as put-together probably contributes to people saying you are so perfect. l've been subbed for a few years and without fail at least a few times a year you say people should stop saying you're perfect, yet that's how you've always presented yourself. Obviously you just want to put positivity into the world, but maybe you should consider sharing more of the less polished aspects of your life, I'm sure we can all relate to them. I only suggest this because UA-cam is clearly not just home videos to you, you interact with the audience and it seems like you like to shape your content to what they like. It's your life, I feel privledged seeing whatever you choose to share, this is just something to consider
I have never commented on a video before. But as someone who has been following you for a long time, I must say that this is by far my favorite video you two have ever made. There was something so real, kind and open. You two are truly amazing, even Alex has been personally helping me with my E-commerce site. You two are incredible souls and I am beyond grateful for your inspiration and love through the screen!! XO Also Alexa is the cutest baby around :)
The saying under the weather is taken from sailors who got sick while out at sea. They spent their time below the decks, quite literally under the weather in the attempt to feel better 🐢
Beautiful vlog! I've noticed that you guys always have fresh ingredients and such in your videos. A wonderful idea would be a grocery shopping video where you show tips! Much love always.
Earliest I have ever been! So sweet to hear Alexa's "talk"! She has grown SO much! Miss my babies playing with my hands while breastfeeding! Love from Istanbul
This is by far one of my favorite vlogs ever. You guys seemed so much more natural and happy and I really can tell how happy you guys are as a family:)
can u please make a video on alexa her routine nap times sleep schedules how you bathe her, feeding and solids just basically how she has progressed through the months at all these things!! would really appreciate mimi xx
Mimi, I just want to say you are the most inspiring person I know and I love you so much. Thank you for always making my days with your videos and sharing so much positivity and love. Lots of love from Slovenia - do you know where it is?❤️❤️❤️
mimi i just wanna say when i was at my lowest low id watch your videos to find a fresh positive vibe. its great to see you be a mommy, still smiley and fresh happy flow. keep inspiring!
Mimi, take "oregano oil" at the first sign of a cold, and use as a preventative too! "Oreganol P73" is an excellent brand, 4-6 drops under tongue, hold there 2 min, then chase down with water, juice, or herbal tea. CHEERS to your great health! AND LOVE THAT WEE ALEXA OF YOURS, SUCH A JOY OF A BABY TO BEHOLD!
Your video's with Alexa are so heart warming, everytime I see her it makes me smile, she is so lovely. You and Alex are so lucky to have her. Love watching your video's, so uplifting and always interested to see what you're doing and what you're eating, gives me some ideas, as I love healthy food. Hope your cold goes soon.x
Mimi you're a big inspiration to me. You make me want to try harder in making my life positive and to stop and enjoy the little things in life without getting carried away in the daily hustle. And also to appreciate life a bit more. So thanks for doing these vlogs. You're message is loud and clear. Lots of love.
when you eat more intuitively, truly chew your food, and enjoy every bite, you'd be surprise how you don't have to eat such massive amounts, how smaller quality bites are better than quantity but I'm sure he could have eaten more but he is enjoying life more :)
I've always admired your sense of style and design mimi~ your living room looks so tranquil and clean. Beauty in simplicity always invokes gratitude. Much love x
If she sleeps around 11 hrs and u want her to wake at 6am then she needs to sleep around 7pm!! Simple as that. I don't think there is a way to increase her sleep duration. 6.15pm is an extremely early bedtime. You would prob need to push her bedtime back around 10 mins every week or so to help stretch her to 7pm.
Mimi Ikonn true, same in my experience (3 bio children then adopted a baby then nannied newborns now fostering babies-on our 10th foster baby). They can go to bed at different times and still wake up so early 😞
I've missed your videos! Alexa is getting so big already she's actually just a few weeks older than my nephew it's amazing all the things that they are both doing now and seeing how motherhood has changed you ! Your also so beautiful in and out !!!! Sending your family lots of love
You guys are just the perfect family! I know there is no such thing as perfect, but you guys are very close to it.. Alexa is so lucky to have such amazing parents. You guys inspire me so much! Love your channel, insta-stories and snaps! I follow you everywhere🤗 xoxo
I absolutely love your (and Alex's) vlogs and videos! You truly are so inspirational! What really caught my attention here (besides how adorable Alexa is!) was your talk about vlogging, and that you like to show the positive side of things, even though life happens anyway. But as I watch your vlogs, for example I see more and more that you take time to really appreciate the little things around you and the short moments you share, not taking things for granted. That's only one of the things I've observed that's part of living a more positive lifestyle, and one that I could definitely work on. So thank you for the little lessons in between the lines.
I love you & your beautiful family Mimi! I've been following you & Alex (& Leila) for years! I appreciate your honesty about the ups & downs in the day & how important it is to focus on the positive. Thank you
My son was exactly the same! Up at 5 am. Do you have black out blinds? They made a big difference for us as his pattern for waking up early seemed to start in spring/summer when the nights started to get lighter. When we put the blinds up it definitely helped. Failing that, it is just a stage and she will grow out of it xx
Alex and Mimi are the best!!! Alexa is truly to blessed yo have loving, caring and protective parents. You guys have a beautiful heart, it makes me happy to know there is still very nice, humble and sweet people like you!!! SHE IS SO GORGEOUS!!! IM IN LOVE WITH ALEXA!!
To stop my daughter from waking up too early, I let her stay awake later. Can't expect them to go to sleep at 7pm and sleep in late through the morning as well, right. She'll go to bed at 10pm, wake up at 7:30/8:30am. Sometimes she'll stay awake until 11pm, which I see it as fine in my book, she'll sleep until 9am or later. I am a night owl & stay awake til at least somewhere between midnight and 3am. So this works for me. I don't want to wake up too early. For people who are in bed early & are early risers, this would not be an ideal schedule. Also, I should add my baby girl is 17-months old. She dropped her second nap, I believe a little before the 1-year mark. We did have a rough time for a bit there during that transition, bc she wouldn't be tired when it was the usual time she'd typically go down for nap #2. But then she'd eventually get tired and want to nap around 7pm, which was too late for a nap in order for her to sleep at night..... So during nap transitions, I recommend delaying the first nap by maybe 1 hour at first, & then in smaller increments like maybe 30mins later every few days until she's adjusted. that way it's easier to eliminate the second nap.
i love seeing how Alexa is growing un every vídeo..she is so cute and i love her funny faces.. her smile.. everything.. she is si beautiful. however, i really miss your fashion vídeos.. you're the reasons why i learned how to have a better style. and your outifits are my motivation to know how to buy pieces that matches perfectly. i hope to see more fashion vídeos please. I love you so much guys! 😙😘 greetings from México 😊
Thank you Mimi for sharing your life with us. I love watching your family life, there's so much love inside. Could you please make a video one day describing your favourite spots and food places in London. It'd be so nice to go there once in London. Thank you xxx
Neither of my three daughters ever went to bed that early at night. And as long as I breast fed (a long time) they always woke up once during the night. All three so different too. My guess is your cutie is getting her quota in, and maybe you need to tweak her schedule so she goes down later in the evening. Such a cute family.
first of all , I Just love your videos. .. you inspire me and you have such a positive vision for life ... thank you mimi and alex for everything 😍 please mimi do what I ate in a day vidoes 😊
I was literally thinking how perfect their life looks right before Mimi took the time to point that out. You know nothing is perfect but its so easy to forget. I love how mindful she is it definitely reminds me on what I want my memories and minds focus to be.
I enjoyed watching your video. I love how you and Alex are so positive about things and encourage it to others to stay positive as well. Your daughter is absolutely gorgeous! Mix babies are so adorable:) I would like to see more videos on cooking and sharing different healthy recipes with us. Love your family!!
I would love to see a food video of where you grocery shop (quail eggs are hard to find in the US) and how you grocery shop. Also how you plan meals and another what i eat in a day would be awesome! Including what alexa eats too! Love your videos as always.
Mimi, I love you too. I am always excited to see a new video up. I know you are so busy but it is sweet when you take us along with you. You and Alex are the best. xx
When my daughter was that age, no matter what time she went to sleep, she was awake (wide awake) at 5:30 on the dot, every morning for about 4-6 months. She eventually grew out of it. It seemed like some sort of phase she was growing through! You and Alex are her parents and you can give her whatever bedtime you deem appropriate. Why can't we just support each other instead of being so nasty and so quick to judge. It makes no sense to me. My daughter is now 8 and this year we moved her bed time up to 8pm. Up until now her bedtime was 7-7:30! I think that y'all are amazing and I throughly enjoy watching your vlogs!!
I enjoyed seeing the multiple days , and the way you edit it with the music and footage of the beautiful city ,loving the vlogs . I am really happy that you enjoy meeting your viewers out and about - as I was super exited when I spotting you ,- and I thought it was really sweet that you took time to chat- you and Alex are simply amazing
We are still eagerly waiting and really exited to embark on the journey of parenthood , it can be any day now in the next 2-3weeks.- ... looking at your precious daughter Alexa - baby really do grow fast. Its always great to have vlogs, pics remember the moments because they grow so fast.
Your vlogs are so uplifting! I especially enjoy seeing London and the beautiful nature scenes. Alexa is a beautiful baby! After seeing your Portugal video, I now want to visit Portugal.
So great to watch you guys become parents and keep it real- parenthood is hard no natter what! Ive read a couple comments below and agree with some of the messages (not so much with the delivery)! If Alexa dropped her 3rd nap, try to extend the times between wake time and nap time a little more each day. it automatically will push her bed time at night back a little. If she gets really cranky at night try to incorporate a bath around 6. Make it fun yet relaxing. You didn't mention how long she naps, but if she wakes before 1 hour of a nap try to go in and see of you can get her to go back to sleep. Don't even pick her up, just rock her button and she may fall back asleep. Every child is different. My little guy luckily sleeps until 7, but that wasn't always the case. It all takes time and for the first year so many things are happening to them developmentally that their sleep gets out of whack quiet a bit. I have taken care of early risers and I can tell you if that's just how she is, there isn't much you can do about it. Once she gets older you can tell her then that she can't come out of her room before a certain time or get her one of those clocks that change lights for "night time" and "day time". But that's not for a while. Just hang in there. try to see if pushing the bed time back does anything. But in my experience babies fall into a certain routine by themselves and with a little support and guidance it'll all work itself out.
Mimi and Alex, you are incredible. Thank you so much for posting these videos. You helped me get through difficult time in life 2 years ago. I change my life around by changing my mindset through your videos, The Five Minute Journal and the Productivity Planner. Now I am going through another big difficult time for my whole family and I have been down, depressed and unmotivated and wandering around without a purpose. Your videos put back my motivation to go on, to start over, that a better future out there lies ahead and I have the power to make it. Thank you really for changing people's lives, I am sure I am not the only one. Thank you...!
Alexa is so adorable and has such a great temperament! This is not surprising with you two as parents 😊. I also want to say that I never assume anyone has a perfect life (we all have our challenges) but I sure am happy that you choose to focus on the positive. It's refreshing 😊. There is nothing more depressing than hearing healthy, fortunate people complain. The way I see it is, if you have your health and all your basic needs are met (food, shelter, clothing, companionship) that is reason enough to be ecstatic. As you know, we all have something to be grateful for, even if it's just that we woke up today.
Love this vlog so much! Great to see your day to day & appreciated you sharing about the harder moments that are not on camera. Where did you learn about baby-led weaning & how do you decide what to feed Alexa day to day? Sending so much love!
Mimi, have you tried cluster feeding before bed? She may be going through a growth spurt and the extra feeds before bed may help her stretch it out til 6am. Love you guys!
6am is a natural wake up time but 5am is a little too early. Usually if they are waking up that early they are missing out on some good restorative sleep, which babies have an hour of in the early am. Two things that are good to do are NOT getting her up or engaging her before your desired wake time (in this case, 6am) and not putting her down for her nap until the suggested wake time for her age based on the desired wake time. So, if she should take her first nap two hours after waking, for example, don't put her down at 7a, put her down at 8a. Later bedtimes work for some babies, but for others they do not. 6:30 is generally a good bedtime at her age. If you don't want to leave her in her crib to cry (who does?) You can try going in (in the dark!) sitting by her and shushing her or whatever you would normally do to calm her and make her sleep.
Oh, also, make sure she isn't napping too long during the day so that it isn't making her cap out her sleep hours and wake up early from her night sleep. If she is, try capping her naps so she can get more night sleep, since it's superior. I don't know how much she is actually napping or when, so just telling you some things that could help in general.
Babies naturally want to sleep somewhere around 6pm-6am, the early 5 am wake-ups ebb and flow depending on mental leaps and teething. You just stay consistent and ride it out. If she's happy in her crib when she wakes you can just let her play a bit so you can sleep longer, maybe get her a mobile or crib attachment toy. Also, room darkening shades also help with sleep cycles as the days get longer/ stay brighter. You guys are doing a great job, it's rough but everything is literally " JUST A PHASE". If you try to push back her bedtime, she'll still wake up at the same time, just my experience. Also my daughter, my second baby, was born just after Alexa on October 8 ( on my birthday!) so it's been so fun to watch her developments alongside each other, thank you for sharing!!
You guys are a super cute family, and an inspiration for all of us! Great videos! Very natural and real! 💕 You inspired me so much that it pushed me to start my own blog. Thank you, Mimi! ✨☺️
I love your vlogs, you and your family are family inspiring and you just put me in such a good positive mood and you have no idea how much it helps me become a happy person 💛
This video just made my day better. So my son (11 months) woke up at 5 am today and I felt awful!! I noticed you put up a new video and put it up, and felt much much better that I have others in the same boat! I have an older daughter and she got better after one year, as in didn't have the really early wake ups. Hoping my son does the same :) staying positive! :)
Thank you so much for your videos Mimi❤ It has been so beautiful to see you grow over the past 5 years. You are an inspiration to me! much love from the US, Olivia
Love You guy!! thank you for sharing your journey with us. I love to see Alex Love as she grows she is such a beautiful happy baby!! makes me miss my girls being that small. Blessings and much love to you guys xoxo
Mimi try to get her back to sleeping even a short nap at 4pm then up by 5;15pm then bed by 7. And before you go to bed do a dream feed at 10pm to stretch her out till 7am. Don't put her to bed past 7. It would make her over tired. Google a dream feed !
*OMG Alexa is eating solids, she's 6 months already???* *And do you just let her teethe on the cucumber slices and then take them or what do you do? Just curious bc i didn't think she had any teeth. My 17-month old has teeth and she still can't eat like apple slices, carrot sticks, celery.. anything like that. I give her the Gerber diced apples because they're really soft & they're soaked in white grape juice; when I try to steam them they don't get soft enough, she'll just spit them out* :( *Also what do you give her to drink, was that water or something else?*
My cousin is 8 months and eats partly solid food (she eats soft solids, it's like boiled but not mashed up), and can eat cucumbers without the skin on. Not sure about apples though haha edit: but she is late at developing teeth, her first few teeth only recently came through. But most babies eat solids around 6 to 8 months I believe.
Kayla Riggs what she is doing with Alexa is called baby led weaning. They start directly on solid table food. :) Alexa will actually learn how to chew and not choke on her food this way. I did this with my daughter at 6 months and she is now 18 months and can eat all food.
Gabrielle Copaus so you don't mash it up or do anything to make it softer for them?? What?! I've been a mother for 8 years & i've heard of baby led weaning but i thought that just meant letting the child set the pace for getting them off the breast. I mean that's the first obvious thought right. This seems a liiiittle cray cray to me like how can they chew with out teeth though :/
Baby led weaning! Best ever choice. My sister in law never did soft pureed food either. They eat so neatly. And many of my friends is also doing it with their kiddos. So much better for the baby. :))) we am going to do the same when our bubba comes. :)
I think Alexa is going way to early to sleep a night that's why she is waking up too early. I think she needs to go to sleep like around 8pm, and if she wants to sleep early you just keep her entertain until at 8. I used to do it with my son and it work I hope it does with Alexa.
Hi Kelly, sadly it didn't work with Alexa. We tried several times putting her down later and she still wakes up at the same time. It resulted in her sleeping less- being more cranky. So, now we just let her go to sleep at her preferred time which is around 6:30 for now.
I've got 4 kids and they all wake early. Even my 9yo. If he goes to bed at 8 or even 9 on a weekend he still wakes at 5am. I prefer them in bed early (7pm) so we parents can have some quiet time.
I just loved today's vlog. It was so relaxing. Keeping making that kind of vlogs. And Alexa is sleeping so early she should sleep at 8 rather then at 6 so she will wake up on time. My daughter had same sleeping pattern she used to sleep at 7 and then she used to wake up at 5 in the morning. Now she sleeps by 9 and wakes up at 8
My baby used to wake at 5am,he's now 8 years old and STILL wakes at 5am! We've learned to embrace the dawn,it's actually a lovely time of the day that most people miss.
Aww... you guys are so positive about it! I love it :)
It did take some getting used to. We tried everything to get him to sleep in a little later-black out blinds, adjusting his day time naps, later bed times-nothing worked. Some people are early birds,he's just one of them.
We adjusted to it by going to bed earlier ourselves.
Good luck!
I love the relaxing music. For some reason this vlog seems more realistic. 😘
Totally agree.

Alex's breakfast was so small for such a tall man lol
zikr100 sometimes I feel sorry for that guy! I'm sure he wants to eat normal man food hahahaha poor guy
'normal man food' i hear you, my boyfriend says the exact same term whenever i suggest he have some goji berries or something like that. ha ha

i love seeing how Alexa is growing un every vídeo..she is so cute and i love her funny faces.. her smile.. everything.. she is si beautiful. however, i really miss your fashion vídeos.. you're the reasons why i learned how to have a better style. and your outifits are my motivation to know how to buy pieces that matches perfectly. i hope to see more fashion vídeos please.
Love the edit/music/everything in this vlog! And omg Alexa is just too precious..Such a cute baby !!!!
first of all , I Just love your videos. .. you inspire me and you have such a positive vision for life ... thank you mimi and alex for everything 😍 please mimi do what I ate in a day vidoes 😊

Favorite vlog so far!! So simple yet so great!! Love baby Alexa 💖love y'all!! 💖
I would love to see a food video of where you grocery shop (quail eggs are hard to find in the US) and how you grocery shop. Also how you plan meals and another what i eat in a day would be awesome! Including what alexa eats too! Love your videos as always.
I always liked your travel vlogs and watching now these London vlogs showing your family life is amazing!
Aww your so beautiful, its shines through! you and alex make amazing parents xxx
Mimi, you have that glow of motherhood! Your daughter is adorable, I'm not a mom but you are #momgoals!!!
It was a pleasure meeting you too :) Have you had your baby yet ? So exciting! :)
We are still eagerly waiting and really exited to embark on the journey of parenthood , it can be any day now in the next 2-3weeks.- ... looking at your precious daughter Alexa - baby really do grow fast. Its always great to have vlogs, pics remember the moments because they grow so fast.
Your girl is a little sunshine, she always smiles! Wonderful video ❤
Your vlogs are so uplifting! I especially enjoy seeing London and the beautiful nature scenes. Alexa is a beautiful baby! After seeing your Portugal video, I now want to visit Portugal.
Alexa is so adorable - what a beautiful little girl! I LOVE her bunny outfit!
Yes yes yes a new vlooog! :D Love you Mimi!
I'm always happy to see you uploading a video. Especially vlogs! Love you. ♥
By far the best vlog you ever did! And Alexa is adorable!
I always watch your vlogs while i'm feeling down. I love how positive you are and cute family 😍 thank you 💓💓💓
My daughter was an early riser too. She still is, compared to the rest of us, but she stopped getting up at 5am! Now it's more like 6:30-7:30am.
Thanks for your suggestions Hannah :)

Yet another lovely video. Gives me strenght through difficult times ❤️ Alexa is the cutest most beautiful and happy baby girl I've ever seen🙂❤️

Yayyyyyyy meet ups
I was so relaxed after watching your video. Hope many others will come! Kisses
It was so sweet when you said one extra hour for mommy and daddy!! 💕
Mimi try to get her back to sleeping even a short nap at 4pm then up by 5;15pm then bed by 7. And before you go to bed do a dream feed at 10pm to stretch her out till 7am. Don't put her to bed past 7. It would make her over tired. Google a dream feed !
Hi Nicky, I tried dream feeding for weeks and sadly it didn't work for us. On most days she would still wake up at around 5:30.
Another awesome video!! Thanx for sharing, you guys are super inspiring!! 🙌🏼
OMG that sweater with the bunny ears is the cutiest thing ever!
That bunny sweater is adorable :) Love watching Alexa grow :)
Mimi, this was an awesome vlog! Love how Alexa smiles and giggles!
Alexa always looks so amazed with everything and it's so cute and adorable😁
*OMG Alexa is eating solids, she's 6 months already???*
*And do you just let her teethe on the cucumber slices and then take them or what do you do? Just curious bc i didn't think she had any teeth. My 17-month old has teeth and she still can't eat like apple slices, carrot sticks, celery.. anything like that. I give her the Gerber diced apples because they're really soft & they're soaked in white grape juice; when I try to steam them they don't get soft enough, she'll just spit them out* :(
*Also what do you give her to drink, was that water or something else?*
My cousin is 8 months and eats partly solid food (she eats soft solids, it's like boiled but not mashed up), and can eat cucumbers without the skin on. Not sure about apples though haha
edit: but she is late at developing teeth, her first few teeth only recently came through.
Kayla Riggs BLW 👌🏽
We Love you Mimi!❤️ Such An inspiration... thank you for sharing little of your life with us!👏🏽
Hi mimi, You're such an inspiration... I love how you choose to focus on the positive always... its refreshing and uplifting :)
I think Alexa is going way to early to sleep a night that's why she is waking up too early. I think she needs to go to sleep like around 8pm, and if she wants to sleep early you just keep her entertain until at 8. I used to do it with my son and it work I hope it does with Alexa.
Kelly Ramirez agreed 8pm or later for bed time.
Agree I alway put my boys down at 8:00 pm and never had any problems with early mornings.
Kelly Ramirez I agree. She sleeps Way to early
Nice video and pretty pink jumper!!!! Color so vivid!!!
