Both the charm, and coolness this game's artstyle exucbuerates is beautiful to me. I also love groundhog day themed games/books, as well as puzzles, due to the mystery genre lover in me, so it's nice to see something that looks like this, paired with that. In terms of writing, I know exactly what you mean by fatigue adding to experience, as the Zeroth Maria, one of my favorite light novel series ever, is like that. You spend 1000s of days with in a repeated, frustrating dilemma, then suddenly the slightest change, such as a pencil never appearing on its desk again, becomes something huge. It is through repetition, that this impact is birthed and immensely amplified through games specifically written in this way. It's not for everyone, but if you're someone who gets it, you love it. Thanks for the eye! A lovely, informative review this was. I like that you guys appreciate themes like this. This is why NP is my go-to for indie news and I'm happy for your success! Keep it up!
Definitely another one to pick up before the year ends. Crazy the number... And quality of games we have been given this year. Well done @noisypixel for being able to give us these reviews so rapidly to guide us through this nice problem to have 😅
The game was an emotional toll for me. Perhaps I'm too empathetic, but I could feel my mental sanity and patience dropping right alongside Siff as I played. I found this whole experience equal parts distressing, yet even I marveled at the narrative brilliance of the emersion. I think I truly understand Subaru Natsuki's pain on a deeper level after playing this (Re: Zero fans will get that reference). So yeah, highly recommended, but pace yourself if the strain is getting to you.
I’m only a few hours in but I do feel like this is a game where you really have to have extreme patience going through some of the same things so many time. At least for me in the beginning stages so far. love the art style music, characters and vibe but I did find myself switching to another game and then go back and then got felt a lot of redundancies again. I’m hoping I can finish this game but for buyers out there make sure this is something you want to play before you do because I’m a very patient person and this along with the long rambling but charming at times dialogue can just drag on. This is coming from someone who loved eastward and all of its dialogue or visual novel games and I still found this games pacing a challenge for myself in the worry that all my time spent will be a waste.
Top notch reviews keep coming, but I feel that they're giving too much away now. Though, balancing "giving information that will direct people towards the media they're into" and "obscuring as much as possible to keep the experience fresh and surprising" is an incredibly hard task.
It's the score I would give it too. Masterpiece is definitely how I would describe this and not only have I been excited to get back to the game whenever I need to move away but I am genuinely smiling the whole time I'm playing it.
The only thing close to a jump scare would be when the game flashes red when you try to force the memory of your place of birth during a conversation with the King.
@@NoisyPixelNews not to worry. Plenty else to play on for me now. Have you managed to play at all? Is it a 👍 or 👎. You can just say trans and queer people. The creator of this game is trans, themself. If you're going to be judgemental, be honest. You'll be missing out on a memorable story, though. Keep an open mind, be respectful.
That’s a reallly disappointing way of looking at things, the art in this game is absolutely gorgeous not to mention story and gameplay, not giving it a try JUST because of colour is very sad
@@if_only_kircheis_were_here No. There's been a big tonal shift in storytelling in the past few years and I can't help but think it's hormonal, like an actual physiological change in people which prevents them from maturing. They are twenty, thirty years old, balding, with breasts, tentative speech patterns relying on "like" every other word. And their entertainment isn't about seeing something badass, it's about seeing cute and "quirky" characters interacting. This would have been embarrassing just a couple of decades ago. And guys like you who are defensive about this are totally blind to this phenomenon.
@@FiggsNeughton So in other words, you're admitting to being a 14 year old edgelord who only plays "manly" games with blood and gore to prove your masculinity and edginess. Repetitive and routine based enough that it satisfies my autism. Has enough changes and is fast paced enough that it satisfies my adhd.
fun fact! this game is the hardest i’ve ever cried at a piece of fictional media
For me, it was House in Fata Morgana. But this came DAMN close, which is not something I ever expected anything to do.

I just finished this game and love it so much that I want a sequel I don't know how but I want to continue the story !!!
Agreed! They left so many mysteries in this world, I'd love to see these characters continue their journey and try to solve them all!
Well, ID5 said it's our turn, so time to fetch a good fanfic I guess!

Art direction is top notch 👌
Seems like this year, there has been some pretty solid Indie games that came out, and this definitely feels like one of them.
Looks interesting, and unique, I might give this a try.
Also, the cartoony, Undertale-ish art style is REALLY great to look at.

I like Odile an absolutely normal amount. Yup.
God I love the story and characters in this game.
Definitly wanna pick this up now, have had my eye on it for a while.
So basically hidden gem.
Got it.

10 out of 10? 😮

Game of the year for me.
are there jumpscares or sudden spooks in this game so i can prepare myself............i already got Got once and i am a liittle paranoid
There aren’t! While there might be story based surprises and the like, nothing like visual or audio jumps scares
The only thing close to a jump scare would be when the game flashes red when you try to force the memory of your place of birth during a conversation with the King.
its all good ive played through the whole thing xd
that damn bonnie rng jumpscare......
Never heard of it before but I'm intrigued.
what about the story?
Have you managed to play "Worldless" yet? Have seen mixed reviews and wanted to get your take before I decide whether to pick it up or not
We have it but it might not be out till this weekend :(

All I am seeing is its getting 8/10's across the board and very postive praise. How is that mixed lol?
@bearofthewest I need to be looking at the same articles as you I think 😂. 8s is good and worth partaking
Review scores on this channel are…..something.
Yea pretty bonkers.
I’ve played it and it is actually very very good
10/10? Reviews on this channel are so inconsistent and at odds with what is actually said about the game
This does not sound like a 10/10 game even from your review.
Crosscode review sounds 100x better and even pikman 4 which was given a 9 was better.
I have played the game and I can say it IS a 10/10
Also played the game and can confirm the 10/10
mmm too much tryharder to certain group of people
For sure

Honestly tired of RPGs that have time loops
I think games being made on a budget use it for the low cost and to reuse assets. The way this game incorporates it is smart.
