I really, really, really hope that Sheikh Yasir Qadhi writes a book about this series. It would be refreshing to have a modern book of Stories of the Prophet's (PBUT).

finally! this is going to be interesting! I want to know you thought about prophet Adam as the first ever human in our tradition vs darwin theories or could be little bit about jurrasic era XD.... Masha Allah, this is become kinda netflix series, I'm so sorry guys

Shaykh, I politely disagree that we shouldn't read into Arabic or Hebrew roots of the word Adam. Allah (swt) may have named Adam as Adam, with the knowledge that it will have a root in Arabic or Hebrew. We cannot know this, of course, but I don't think we should dismiss it either.
About the name issue of Adam… couldn’t it be that this was the name given to him by meaning and not by mere „sound similarity („A -D -A-M“)“? Then it would make sense to try to derive the meaning from Arabic and other Semitic languages. Maybe „Adam“ was called a different name by Allah in the beginning, matching the meaning. Just as Muslims say that there is a similarity between the prophet‘s name „Ahmad“ and the Greek Word „periklytos“ (as it occurs in some versions of the Bible) which do not sound similar at all but are the same in meaning „the most praised“
