    The MAF Sensor has low voltage output problems which may have several causes.
    The source of the problem is the sensor range voltage is lower than normal or required by the ECU to function properly.
    The most obvious problem is restricted airflow from the air cleaner to the MAF sensor which can be a clogged air filter.
    The wiring or MAF sensor may be too close to higher voltage consumption components, especially alternators, ignition wires, etc. which can give false readings.
    The MAF sensor can also be dirty or partially plugged with carbon causing a low reading. Many MAF units have screens and they can get clogged up easily, clean using a CRC 05110 spray cleaner.
    MAF sensors must operate within specific ranges to send correct signals for the ECU to adjust correctly for proper engine operation and inputs from other sensors..
    What are the symptoms of the P0102 code?
    P0102 code will be normally preceded by the Check Engine Light coming on the dashboard display.
    The engine can run near normal but it may run slightly erratically, have less power and idle inconsistently.
    The vehicle may have too low of fuel consumption, which could cause internal engine problems.
    How does a mechanic diagnose the P0102 code?
    P0102 is diagnosed with an OBD- II scan tool. A qualified technician should then reset the OBD- II fault codes and road test the vehicle to see if the code returns. He can observe this by watching it live on his scanner while driving.
    If the code does comes back, the mechanic will need to do a thorough visual inspection to determine any electrical connector, wiring, sensor, air cleaner, is plugged or damaged MAF unit.
    If no problems are noted, then the next step is to have the mechanic do a circuit test with a multimeter that has a digital display to show sampling rate and sensor range readings to determine if the MAF sensor output is really too low or there is another cause.
    Common mistakes when diagnosing the P0102 code
    Diagnostic errors are largely due to not following the correct procedure. First, follow the test procedure for the wiring and sensor.
    Do not buy a MAF sensor unless the other tests indicate no problem. Before buying a MAF sensor, try cleaning it with a specialized spray cleaner, like CRC 05110 made for MAF sensors, as these often get considerable carbon build up from the emission system, especially at idle.
    The air filter may be very dirty causing the sensor to show low air flow voltage due to air flow restriction.

    It was a broken black wire for me. I found it and connected small piece of wire to it. Then drove my truck for about 15mins and then the check engine soon 💡 turned off🤩😌💆🏽‍♂️

    So how about the other 3 wires on the MAF sensor. I have a reading on the air temp but zero reading on the airflow. Engine runs terrible. I look forward to hearing from you and maybe you can help me get this thing running right

    hey im going thro the same thing here on a 1997 tahoe 5.7 its the same problem in the video i cant find any grounds that are off all fuses are good i even had another computer and tried it did not work put the old computer back in it same problem (P0102 mass or volume air flow A circuit low) and i have a new mass air flow sensor installed the exhaust system is fine. not sure where to look from here.???

    Hello, one question, I have a 2011 5.3L chevy silverado that has a swap cam it doesn't turn on but if there is a spark and also if there is gasoline in the injectors and the scanner gave me the code p0102 and I already changed the maf sensor and nothing happened and I put the starter fluid in the throttle body too and it didn't start and I saw that the throttle opened very little when I accelerated, what could it be?? And I also checked all the fuses and relays, they are fine

    Hi, I have a 05 colorado 3.5
    I did all the test but for some reason I dont have signal for the maf wire signal, scanner says maf is 0.20lb/min it doesn't move at all !

    Hey, I know this is super late comment, but someone might see it. I have a problem with my MAF sensor, go figure right. I replaced the sensor and ran another SMOG test to reasses the issue. O2 sensor pops up along with OBD EXG- which can be many things, I reseated the sensor and drove the car for about 30ish miles and my check engine light, "service soon" bs on my dash. I don't know what the hell is going on now. Before, the light was off, and no its on again. All I want is to pass SMOG lol, if someone who is more knowledgeable help me figure this out I am more than willing to remove, replace, or fix anything wrong. I love this car, it sounds amazing, just want to get plates on it thx

    My car won’t start and it’s throwing that code. I replaced the maf sensor and it’s still won’t start. Was running great the other night, came out yesterday morning and it’s trying to turn over, I just won’t start. I’m at a loss lol

      Mine does the same thing, it runs without the MAF sensor. Replaced the sensor and still same shit.

      @@antonchigurh5472 i have a 2011 prius i replaced the MAF its still tunning horrible and shutting itself off. loss of power
      Try running the engine and disconnect the MAF
      My engine runs smooth for like 1 second when i disconnect the MAF then goes back to running horrible
