  • In this video, Mark explains why everyone running a high performance car needs a Maxx Power Tri-Flow Aluminum Radiator. You have a nice car, why be afraid to drive it because of overheating? Available for Chevy - Ford - Chrysler!
    Buy Here: www.eastwood.com/triflow?...
    Tri-Flow Radiators reduce water temps up to 24°F, eliminating overheating issues. Independent lab tests on Chevy LS engines and small blocks resulted in a 24°F temperature drop, which far outperformed OE and typical aftermarket aluminum radiators. The Tri-Flow is the best performing, highest heat transfer and most feature-packed unit on the market.
    It works better than the others because coolant passes the radiator three times! Twice the circulation and flow, two additional passes in front of the fan and twice the efficiency over the competition.
    These are available for Chevy, Ford and Chrysler in three sizes - which should fit most vehicles from a street rod to a pickup truck. All you need to do is measure your current radiator, or if you haven't put one in your car yet, visit Eastwood.com for instructions.
    You spent a lot of time and money on your car - why be afraid to drive it because of traffic, red lights and overheating?
    Eastwood has everything you need to do the job right when you're restoring your car truck or motorcycle - welders, plasma cutters, paint and paint guns, soda and abrasive blasters, hand tools, metal fab tools, rust solutions, powder coating supplies, specialty tools and more. Since 1978.

    Purchased the Tri Flow Chevy 19" x 28" from Eastwood. Also purchased the aluminum fan shroud. Received it & installed it. After a short drive. I found it had a pin hole in it & it was leaking. Called Eastwood only to find out that because I trimmed the mounting tabs to fit my rad support, I Voided The Warranty. Just a side note Eastwood. Not all rad supports are flat. !!!!!!!! $ 100.00 later rad shop fixed the hole. I reinstalled it. Road test. It did not lower temps AT ALL !!! Very Disappointed in the product. Complete waste of $ 500.00

    Now, I have a question.
    Would this type of setup work for air to air intercoolers? Just some food for thought.

    There is not near enough information here. I love the idea but what was the increased drag? How did that affect the flow volume. I guarantee that the flow volume dropped by some number. What was it? How does that affect the water circulation in the rest of the engine? I suspect this will not cool better than the 5 row core that is in my full size van with the 6.5 diesel.

    I would buy this if I did not have to go measure and probably have to do modifications to install. Have a 97 Jeep Wrangler Sport 6 cyc, manual transmission. Replacing the stock, y'all tell me which one will work and I might buy one today. It's gotta live up to your claim though. Your tech person on the phone acted like I was asking too much, I prob was.

      All of our Tri Flow Radiators are custom fit so we offer them in 3 different sizes - 22, 26, and 28" wide with two different inlet/outlet configurations. One of them may fit your application.

    Yeah, that's all well and good, But ..... I replaced my copper/brass radiator from my 1979 C3 Corvette with a new aluminium radiator [ColdCase], that promised 40% cooler running. However, after less than 9 months the new radiator was leaking and considered completely ruined. The reason why, I am told is because of ''ELECTROLYSIS''. I have since talked to other Vette owners and they tell of similar stories. One major Corvette owner warned me against buying another aluminium radiator, as he says that they don't last! One Vette owner went through 4 aluminum radiators in about 7 months - the problem ''Electrolysis'' - an electrical charge running through the radiator, and damaging the components. In order to combat against Electrolysis, it is advised that the new aluminium radiator must not touch another metal - that the radiator must be full surrounded in rubber. And of course use distilled water instead of common tap water, as the tap water has too many minerals which assist Electrolysis. Yes the aluminum radiators run cooler, but for how long? I have since gone back to brass and copper.

    This video is deceptive. The tri-flow did not out perform the aluminium radiator in cooling the engine, at all times the engine temperature is the same. While It may be cooler coming out of the radiator the reduced flow of the radiator produces zero net benefit in cooling the engine. Both do out perform the brass radiator.

    • @TheObserver567
      @TheObserver567 11 місяців тому

      It keeps it from overheating during high demand. Normal radiator flow barely uses the entire radiator. The triple pass allows more time on the cooling stage.

    • @eastwoodco
      @eastwoodco  5 місяців тому +1

      It looks like the factory radiator dimensions are 31 x 13.5 x 2.5 - You'll need to measure your radiator support and see how much room you have to work with. We have 3 different size widths: 22", 26", and 28" for Chevy, Ford, and Chrysler but their height is 19" which may be too tall for your application.

    Do you have them without electric fans? I got an '86 F150 and it doesn't have electric fans, it's the old school clutch fan on the engine.
    Now, mind you, it's a 5.0 EFI and it runs cool, anyways. Doesn't overheat on the hottest of days while in 4x4 offroading or anything and it's never gotten hot towing, even pulling a 4500 pound truck for a friend... despite the little 185 horsepower/270 ft-lbs torque 5.0 V8 struggling on these mountainous roads (east TN), but luckily, it was a slow speed limit and I could hold that, I just had to use 3rd gear most of the time (NP435 transmission aka 4-speed with low 6.69:1 first gear/1:1 4th).
    But it never hurts to have that extra protection. Not sure how necessary it is... as we all know these little 5.0 EFI's run notoriously cool, but they are weak and I'd prefer to have a beefier radiator for towing heavier loads on these twisty, mountain roads. Lots of slowing down and speeding up, ya know? Plus, I only have a dummy gauge so I can't guarantee it was running as cool as it appeared, I just know the gauge stayed around 1/4 to 1/3 and I didn't smell signs of overheating or hear any bubbling.
    So, maybe it's a waste of money, but it's also piece of mind.
    Sorry, so, the question is, do you make these for 1986 F-150 XLT Lariat 4x4 5.0 EFI trucks without the electric fan? I want an easy bolt in. I can always just buy a thicker core radiator from O'Reilly's for $225 that would bolt right in, but I really like this tri-flow design ya got going on.

      Eh, wait...seeing the comments are scaring me off of this. Maybe I should stick to the old adage of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." I'll be honest, they don't make things like they used to. My brass heater core lasted 20 years. When it went out, I've had to replace it with aluminum replacements every 1.5 years. Cool design, but not I'm second guessing the quality.

      www.eastwood.com/maxx-power-tri-flow-28-in-aluminum-radiator.html This is what you would be looking at. They come in three different size's as well. The fan's are an add on so if you just purchase the radiator you could run your factory clutch fan setup.
