I was really hoping they'd make some custom unarmed animations for the monk class but it never happened. Instead the melee monk class looks like a bar brawler.
Are you sure that swift strikes stacks with frenzy? Supposedly active abilities that affect the same thing do not. It would be inconsistent if this did, although it may have been overlooked.
Swift Strikes still gives a +5 DEX bonus Frenzy won't provide, so there is some reason to have them both up. But yes, the recovery time reduction won't be stacking here.
You are correct, I just double checked. This is an oversight on my part. You still do get Dexterity and a chance to strike again if you Crit, which is great.
What talents to focus? Streetwise and some athletics? I hope u do a vid about the important talents/social perks. Do we need to have atleast 1 character with stealth?

Atleast one character with proficiency in all possible skills is always helpful :)
Nalpazca is not playable at the moment. There is a level 3 Wizard Spell "Arcane Dampener" which will immediate cause drug crash. Unfortunately there are plenty of wizards in game has this spell.
Any suggestions on a Shatterer Monk build attribute layout? I'm seeing conflicting information. Some say 14-15 points in PER, others say none, put 14-15 in RES. Some say a lot in STR and none in CON.
I have not found that you need much Perception while playing a Monk because you gain a lot from being Unarmed, assuming you are of course playing Unarmed. You will take some damage though playing in Light or no Armor, so you'll want some Constitution.
You don't really need that much in PER, Monks naturally gain enough accuracy, more with skills, even more when multiclassed with melee classes. You definitely need CON, both if you play a tank style monk or if you go Hellwalker for damage (Hellwalker takes increased dmg). Resolve is good to have as a tank, but no need to go overboard...
If you play the Monk as a party tank, resolve is good to have. Int seems to be a dump stat, unless you multiclass with something like Chanter or Druid and want to cast spells.
Am i the only one showing a melee loosing half their life to a non melee enemy while in melee combat is a reaaaaaallly bad way to show the power of the monk?
The mechanics and the information available on the wiki is quite confusing to me in constrast to part I. They even reworked the old wiki that is now just a more fancy but shitty version of the former one. I feel like this time i need to install the game, hope for cheatcodes to be able to plan a character ahead.
I never liked monks, because mainly they never have been in wars, maybe using weapons like any solider, but not as they are portrayed, unarmed. Seems a 'flavor' class (not so 'flavorous' to people who knows martial arts and never would go unarmed to war). Even real martial artists are trained in the use of more weapons than a normal warrior, and sometimes even using armor. A simple google or wikipedia search confirms that.
@@Mare_Man haha was a year ago.Yes it is fantasy, but you don't have laser beams, or automatic weapons, fantasy also need to be believable in some way.

You know a guide is good when it makes you realize you ARE NOT actually interested in playing it even when you thought you were. Thumbs up.
When I realized that the infamous Ancient Fampyrs were actually some sort of monks I knew at once this class is OP.
I was really hoping they'd make some custom unarmed animations for the monk class but it never happened. Instead the melee monk class looks like a bar brawler.
I was hoping we would get monk style armor too but that didn't happen :(
@@andrewg9107 Maybe BG3 though
@@MrMeddyman Monk in BG3 is amazing with unique, awesome attack animations.
Subscribed for easy to understand guide

Very helpful, thanks!

Ahh but what talents are mostly needed?
At the start, is it Thranduil (Lee Pace) on character creation screen?
Also thanks for the great content, really enjoting the videos.

Xiang Yu That's problematic, guess you'd have to interrupt those fools and rush them down before they get the chance to pull it off
Thou shalt catch these hands of destiny
Do The Pain Persists and Instruments of Pain work together? Or can only have one enhancement and not the other when you activate The Long Pain?
i m thinking of building a DPS unarmed mutliclass monk + cipher. I kinda like the shattered pillar + soul blade combo. Am i in the right path?
what about monk with quarterstaff?
thank you. am playing mink as a no subclass noobie
So nalpazca is drunken kungfu
bo raicho!!
@G59 // FLESHRIPPA hows your mom?

Is it ok to reduce some stats? like int/resolve ... those not considered important for monk?
Monks work best when attacking quickly and interrupting often, so yes definitely.
If you play the Monk as a party tank, resolve is good to have. Int seems to be a dump stat, unless you multiclass with something like Chanter or Druid and want to cast spells.
please post rogue next... please
I hear you
I'd like to second this request! Rogue next please :D
Monks are overpowered
Do you do a subclass with the monk?
I mean whats the best for dps Monk
Either Helwalker or Shattered Fist.
helwalker is bad? :O
Not bad, just risky and heavy on micromanagement :)
TAE WOONS! HEAL TAE WOONS!
Monk shattered pillar + Cipher Soulblade wtf it's insane.
This game is so friggin complicated and nerdy.
Calm down lmao
Omnis Aye, that is what makes it so great :).
It's not even that complicated though.
It’s fun and addicting af once you learn how to make everything click though.
Edgars Petriks what a great logical comment you made there sir

Bad info. Pillar monks best duelclass by far is wizard. Impossible to hit. And has really nasty aoe generating full wounds every hit.

The genre is called fantasy for a reason.
