I always train with singles, married people just don't enjoy it as much

I have just had singles introduced into my programming and wondered why, having watched this I now know . Early days but time will tell

The last three months, since my March 26th 2022 meet, i've been doing a squat single 30lbs heavier than my working sets once every three weeks, on the day i reach the end of the double progression for the weight i'm on at that point. (doubles to triples, five sets, +1 rep to one set per session)
And that has been working very well.
I feel fresh for the singles not doing them as often as i had been leading up to that meet.
I also like having the single as a check in point after that 3 weeks with the new weight on the working sets.

    Hey
Sorry for asking an unrelated question but have you experienced that the rpe chart doesn't give right 1 RM estimates with higher rep deadlifts. Like 3-6 reps.
I did 152kg for 6 reps at 9.5 on conventional deadlift and rpe chart told me that my est. 1 RM is 184 kg. But in my next session, I tested my 1 RM and I was only able to lift 170kg and missed 175kg. This has happened multiple times with me.

Watch PRs Performance video on distance traveled. It’s just something that you have to adjust for. You can either adjust your RPE chart or have a high rep-max and a low rep-max.

considering that you rated your roe precisely, if you did 6 reps at 9.5, that could be very taxing for your body and you probably haven't recovered yet. but if you taper it properly, then you will be able to pull somewhere closer to 184. and lastly, it's just an estimate so dont take it as an absolute 1rm. there are more factors to consider why youre 1rm on a given day was a speicific weight

@@MrCatgroove Hey. One more question. If I am benching 2 times a week and my time to peak is 4 weeks. Now, if I start benching 3 times a week and around same volume, Is my time to peak expected to increase?

Would you hit singles on all three lifts during the same week, or rather try and space them out? Like singles on one of the lifts per week? Thanks.

I have 2 singles on different days for each of the 3 lifts each week. There is no right answers to this

Yeah i know. However some examples on how singles have been programmed before would be nice, just as framework

There are many ways to do it. Some advanced lifters do 5-10 singles with the same weight for an exercise in one session.
