You don't have to spend hundreds to get a folding bike that you can use for an international cycle tour. Second hand folding bikes can be excellent value if you are prepared to do any repairs yourself! Small repairs and replacing any worn out parts can be done with simple tools and these light weight bikes can be stored easily in a cupboard or under a bed.

👍👍👍
So chill, you guys know how to have a good time. Luxurious, the spot you camp resembles Alentejo (south Portugal).
Glad to see you are both eating well. Food is more important than people realize. When I was homeless I once went for 4 days without eating and it was horrible. Food always tastes better when it's prepared outside.
Yeah it sure is! I learned on my trip through Japan that I'd have to eat a lot more when riding all day long, in fact I was in calorie deficit and had to pick foods that were very high calorie to stop me crashing. A lot of beer and hotdogs from 7eleven were eaten!
EXCELENTE ❤
England is enchanting! Thank you for taking us along. How I wish I could go myself but this is the next best thing.
Thanks for coming along for the ride!
Great stuff Andy and Mel, your making me homesick hahahahah, keep it coming guys, waiting for the next one
Cheers Bob!

English breakfast - I love it! Not good for your health, but so good!
We need the calories sometimes 😂 this was such a treat after all the macaroni! Can’t afford this kind of eating all the time 😉⛺️🚲🚲👍
Yum! That looks so good. Andy knows how to live!
You got it! Food is so important when riding all day long im always looking forward to the next meal or snack break 😂⛺️🚲🚲👍🍻
andy and Mel

Good riding trails, nice camping spots 👍
Welcome to my hometown
Hi Tina! Cool place to live!! We visited Ryde, Sandown, Newport & Cowes. Slice of paradise if you ask me 🌴⛺️🚲🚲🍻👍😎
Welcome to the Uk and the glorious Isle of White.....Looks like you are both having a great time...especially the local scotch egg delicacy....haha...Enjoy your travels over here..
Thanks Sid! We enjoyed riding UK very much, it’s a great place to visit. We are following the sun south for the winter stay tuned for an endless summer of hobo adventures 😎🚲🚲⛺️👍🌴
@@hobocyclist I wish you both the best of adventures now that you are a full time vlogger....Ride your dreams
Cheers mate! Its nice having you along for the adventure!!
Felicitaciones.
Mi Novia y yo, también viajamos en folding bikes (Dahon).
Vengan a la Patagonia Argentina!!!!!
¡excelente! ¡Disfruta de tus aventuras! Me encantaría visitar algún día.
Hi Andy, I strongly recommend visiting south of Turkey. It's a lot cheaper than UK and EU although wild camping is forbidden in many parts of the country. Turkish people (especially in the country side) are very hospitable. And the weather is quite mild.
Nice tip! I’d love to visit Turkey, it looks great and I like the food 👍
Zero croticism or judgement, simply a question or two. Are you frugal by need or by design to be able to travel?
0:53 😅😅
I walked around the isle of wight. Where you guys at now?
Mr West! You are very close to that 1k subs, it wont be long now!! We are back in NZ now for another summer :)
@@hobocyclist ah you're back on home turf!
Yes almost there although this last 100 has been a struggle
@@WestGoesEast it took me 5 years!
@@hobocyclist I don't know if that's good or bad to hear!
did you see any red squirrels in the isle of white ?
We didnt see any! Lots of birds and sheep though!! We did see red squirrels in Belgium & France near the border. Isle of Wight is such a nice place I would like to visit again and stay longer!!!
@@hobocyclist Yes the isle of white is a nice place. We have been wild camping there last year on the wild west coast
Welcome to UK hope your visiting Yorkshire gods own country can I ask do you have any troubles with wheel issues due to weight on bike
Hi Richard! The bikes are holding up well, no issues with the wheels this time -( had 7 spokes blow out on a previous tour in Germany ) the weight on the back is not too much, possibly up to 8kg? the standard luggage rack should be rated for 10kg and the bikes can handle +80kg rider. generally wheel issues buckling etc have come from riding uneven ground hitting curbs, pottholes etc so its usually the front wheel that gets knocked about. I get the spare parts I need from recycling centres and from scrap bikes. Keeping costs low, and keeping the adventure going as long as possible!!
@@hobocyclist thanks I'm having issues with my wheels that's why I asked
How do these bikes cope with off road /canal paths ?
It’s good on the canal paths no worries because it’s flat! Some gravel handles fine but if you want to ride off road / mtb trails it’s not ideal. I ride folding bikes on tow paths, off road trails & public walkways in England, France etc no problem 😉 many thousands of km under my belt. I like the folding bike for travel since I can take it on the airplane, if you are looking for a bike for specific off road you can see what I use in my video low budget hobo adventure. Cheers for watching
@@hobocyclist seems perfect most off road I will be doing is some dodgy parts of the canal’s. I will hunt for a 2nd hand for cost and maybe even change the tires to a more gravel type of possible . Upgrade it basically to what I want .
@@gothicgorey Yeah mate thats the way! Sounds like a great adventure is on the horizon. All the best!
@@hobocyclist What’s your opinions on decathlon folding bikes ? They seem very good value . Seem solid and can upgrade weak areas over time like we said
@@gothicgorey ive never ridden one, they dont have decathlon here in NZ but ive seen them all over Europe /UK people seem to love them. They look fine to me for the money and parts can be upgraded. however, with a little effort 100 euro or pounds can get a hell of a lot of bikes and bits secondhand. I always go for secondhand solutions first- but hey thats just me (sometimes this is a harder solution!) Go ahead and enjoy the process, youre bound to find something great to suit your needs. All the best!
Where are you now ?
NZ. I like your van, classic and practical!
Do you have difficulty choosing your background music? I have trouble listening to it! Can you please just not bother, or at least make it quieter.
I make my own music. I make my own videos too so I figured I’d make the music too. Maybe some of my new songs you will like better! Thanks for watching the channel
@@hobocyclist wow, you are forgiven! Not my taste, but hey what do I know? Pretty cool that it's original. Loving you channel, just bought a decathlon tilt 120 for £50, inspired by you, Europe, no. But I might manage the isle of wight!
@@steveelkins52 Good deal on that bike! Holland is the best if you are in UK its very close by, nearly as easy to get to as Isle of Wight! 😄
@@hobocyclist good idea
You guys are game camping on a farm like that. Lucky you didnt get a bum full of buckshot from a right-wing farmer.
Yeah tresspassing is not really a good idea but Im sure theyre friendly in these parts! Wouldve asked the farmer but they were not around, and no stock on the field. We always make sure to cause no disruption, and just want a place to rest the night ;)
