Good video Andy. I like this video because it gives people a very affordable way to start traveling by bicycle. We all know that traveling by bicycle is the BEST!

Where I am from people work on thr land and carry hay, greens, beats, fruit boxes, fertilizer bags, anything really, on the rear rack using bungee cord with hooks.

Great concise video capturing/refining a lot of previous lessons you've shared on making bikepacking affordable! Your editing, transitions, and story flow skills were excellent! What's your videomaking process these days?

Cheers! I'm learning every day how to make better videos and storytelling. It takes some practice but i can look back on the 200 videos I've made so far and see what works and what doesn't. I'm still using a second hand phone to film/ edit everything, it takes a while and is tedious to look at the small screen for long periods. Still living on the road and doing this remotely from wherever I am. Hopefully one day I can have my own place with a space to make these films, im sure the quality would improve if i could make that happen!

I really like the tire tube idea because it seems really versatile. In fact, I have recently bought a couple of the cheapest tire tube I could find online from china and cut one of them up just to try it out. Although I do wonder what is their lifespan like under constant sunlight and on rough terrain. Are they susceptible to snap after repeated stretching for days, weeks or possibly months?

Don't buy them. Bike shops through them out every day, just ask.

    • @hobocyclist

Yes it breaks down in uv light, and under constant strain, however I still have some going strong years later. Get unlimited amounts free from bike shops they will gladly give it to you!

Hey, Andy. I'm curious: About how much time out of the year do you spend touring/bikepacking on your folding bike? Do you have any permanent or semi-permanent place that you stay when you're not actively touring/bikepacking? Cheers!

Hey mate, I’m not cycle touring all the time however I’d like to spend more time riding & touring it’s difficult, apart from that just living my days to day working on this channel & other projects. I have done a bunch videos in the hobo club members area where I talk about digital nomad life & other things lifestyle related you might like it, sometimes I do livestreams & interviews there too

Good video Andy, lately I've become more interested in folding bikes for cycling. I would like to ask you how you handle yourself in mountainous areas. I understand that you avoid them, but if you encounter hills, will you be able to overcome them with a loaded bike? I hope you understand my question. For more videos like this. U rock!

Great videos Andy, really look forward to them, on long trips I used to check my tyres at the end of the day and fill any nicks etc with a drop of super glue, hope someone finds that useful, cheers Tony.

    That is a heavy lock.
I carry first aid and wash kit.
    Spare clothes, extra insulation.
Spare inner tube and tyre boot, chain quick link.
    Zip ties, ducktape, sewing kit.
Food kit: Non-cooking:swiss army knife, plastic cup, spork or plastic tea spoon. OR basic cooking kit.
Paring knife, salt, pepper, spices, oil, flexi plastic cutting board, small wooden spoon.
I always ride in gloves or mitts. One spill can wreck your hands.

I always see your tire tube rubber strips. Where do you source those? And how are they basically free? It’s clearly a great way to lash everything on and I’d like to do the same.

I am thinking of buying a Btwin folding bike in Thailand. The option of taking my bike to Thailand on the plane is overwhelming. I then would have to get the bike to chiang mai more extra costs. I will be investigating putting panniers on the back. thanks for posting

Just subscribed after seeing a few of your videos. Do admire your lifestyle. Not sure if I am still able to do everything you do, but I did buy a Magneet ABC in a recyclingshop and made it roadworthy again. It is not a folding bike but it can be divided in two parts.I have taken it with me in the train alteady. Hope you keep enjoying riding and travelling and hope to see more of your adventures.

Great one Andy. I totally agree. I paid for the sleeping mat and a cheap dry bag. The rest, bike, tent, sleeping bag etc, all cheap to free. 20" inner tube is the best for keeping it all on.

Tweezers or special tick removers. You need a basic first aid kit esp for serious graze injuries and triangular bandage.
