  • "This video describes the course, 'Sheltering in Place: A Community Photography Project', that will meet online for 5 sessions, beginning in May. The course is intended to help participants share and give shape to their experiences during the time of the corona pandemic.
Through a series of presentations and assignments, we'll look at how photographers and writers have recorded their lives and the world around them during periods of great change, and create photographs and texts of our own. Participants will learn about lighting, framing, and sequencing images, and we'll cover subject matter from still lives, portraits, interiors, and landscape. The 14th St. Y has offered to screen selected images on the Community Corner Section of their website, and when the building re-opens, we'll have an exhibit of our work.
Any camera is fine, a phone camera, point and shoot, DSLR. All levels welcome. Need to have the ability to send jpegs via computer to the instructor each week.
