Been living in that region, went to the University of Maryland; been riding on ambulances while bringing friends to emergency hospital wards. Had the Cadillac ambulance. Was in the years 1961-1963.
Much has changed since then.
Espec. with the warning flashing lites and the different sirenes and horns...

Luckly 4 out of the 6 ambulances my station has, have two siren speakers so two tone capable and real air horns.... I can make some noise!!! and have been yelled at for it a time or two... oopps can't help it when you have a town full of drunk college kids and its bar closing times lol

Lol they are hauling ass! Also for the people saying he was overusing the siren he was doing that whenever he was going through stop signs and red lights to let people know there's an ambulance coming so that there wouldn't be an accident. So calm down lol
+Rayana Woods Nahuh. That's what brakes are for. Lights and sirens aren't going to stop the 17 year old texting and driving from nailing you in an intersection because you didn't stop and clear the intersection.
John Goode well that's on that 17 year old. He's the one getting in trouble not the paramedics. So yes that's why they're using their sirens at red lights and stop signs. If you don't stop for them when those lights come on, regardless of what happens, that's on you and it will be a fat ass ticket. So chill out.

An ambulance still has to stop at read lights. It's called a controlled stop. They have to make sure the coast is clear. They just can't go through the lights like that.

@@aviation7374 Whelen is a Siren company. They make Sirens for police cars, fire trucks, ambulances, and Lights. They also make Warning sirens for natural disasters.

Though the call wall disregarded/canceled this video still shows the dedication of volunteer fireman/forewomen! More revenue must go into the volunteer coffers. .

if you ever go on a ride along where there is a fire, you should try and catch some footage of it if you can, instead of ending it when you get to the scene.

My uncle is a ems supervisor. he makes a lot money but its fun to ride along with him. he let me before i got my phone but now he don't cuz of the hours he works. he works from 5am-5pm sometimes even longer.

Matthew Graham Ambulances don't carry Q sirens. And you're not suppose to have a Q siren in an ambulance at all. Because it's impersonation of a fire truck.

@motionmay What was wrong with it? He blew a couple of reds at potentially unsafe speed, but you can clearly see cross traffic stopped. Driver saw things that aren't shown on the video, so you can't say it was dangerous. He has 180 degree FOV, you have around 60.
Legally, all emergency personnel are required to stop at the Red Lights and at max they can roll it.

Ricky Rescue should pay more attention to safe driving and less attention to his epileptic siren skills or he's going to end up killing somebody. I like how he almost came to a complete stop for a green light but scarcely slowed down for the red lights.
Why all the siren work with no cars around???
They run it in different cadence coming up to intersections to get peoples attention who can't see them and down main roads to warn drivers that might be coming into the area. Standard procedures.
It's the car you DON'T see when an accident occurs. The ones you can see aren't very important.

I'll flip it to yelp coming up on an intersection and blip the wail a few times, lay on the air horn, switch to phaser going through the intersection (which, by the way, I STOP!!! at red lights - that's the only way to clear an intersection), but if I were this guy's partner I'd have a flipping come apart on him. "Quit fucking playing with the siren!"

To the guy using the siren. You do realize you're not suppose to have that siren up to high decibel because that's a little excessive. Here's a little piece of advice. Don't crank the siren up to high decibel. That is not good for your ears. That high decibel siren could destroy your eardrum/eardrums.
@ officernelson.. I will have to also say that this response is more dangerous then is needed. The law states an emergency vehicle must stop at ALL intersection (red or yellow) and clear lane by lane at a stop then craw. (paraphrasing ofcourse) but for the most part the siren use is effective
I hope the crew really enjoys playing "musical siren" because you're probably only increasing the chance of a collision.

Judging by the comments i must be seeing a completely different video because i saw one of the most dangerous and irresponsible code 3 driving ive seen in a long time this driver is going to get somone kiled!!
