I had a Magenta Sierra Cosworth 4x4 and on the road it was one of the best cars I’ve ever driven .. no body roll and superb brakes … they have certainly increased in price since .. not as quick as this one though .. great stuff and love the flame 🔥

I think people are forgetting that this speed is reached in a comparatively short run. It is seriously quick! Other cars attended on the same day but failed to run, the Cosworth went out in bad conditions and still did the job! I don't understand the haters comments, I suspect the owner of this car spent less time on UA-cam criticising others efforts than some of these....

knowing rod, and knowing the car, and also knwoing a little bit about what he's done to it and the effort him and mark have put into it, unless some people have positive comments to make, you really don't have a clue as to exactly how fast this car is, rod has let the car (and sheady) do the talking more than once :)

    Hi
Cant believe their is still so much interest in something that happened 4 years ago.
Seems to be a lot of dispute about my cars Stats.
    Then it had 690bhp & 150 Nitrous.
The latest engine has 838bhp & 200 Nitrous.
The 5th gear day was in the wet & you will notice we turned right down the runway so not its full length.
In that Spec it was capable of :
    0-100mph 6.9
    0-150mph 12.7
    0-180mph 17.8
    0-200mph 24.5
Now keep it clean lads & continue the debate.

The Veyron cost so much because it was designed from scratch to do well in excess of 200 mph; after 220 there's a wall where every mph is a real pain to achieve. It also set out to do all this while remaining reliable and driveable. Most 1000BHP modified would send you into straight into the nearest wall if they started at all without a mechanic handy.

The funny thing is, the RS2000 16v used the same engine that later ended up in the Ford Galaxy. Same 150hp. Depending on spec, it's either 135 or 150hp, but the 150hp version has iirc 10:1 compression, and the 8v I4 has 9.75:1

I don't even care if you drive the car fast.
You would make a small day dream come true for me just making a film of a walk around, sound of engine rev from exhause, lift the hood and show it off and a shot of the start up/gauges sequence.
I'd also love to see the pedals and inside.
I live in Los Angeles where we have Lambo, Ferarri, Porsche GT, etc but something like a Tuscan, Griffith or even a Vanquish or Vantage is pretty rare site here.

  • @RodTarry
    @RodTarry 15 років тому +1

    Hi
Been stated on here that it was over 4k runway actually it was 1.5miles (2.4k) & was wet, this car is capable of way over 200mph within a mile if conditions are dry.
It has 838bhp off Nitrous in its latest Spec so over 1000bhp on the gas.
How do I know, well i own it.

206.1mph and 206.0mph is very impressive but the gearing must be holding it back.
I wonder if the Sierra hatch would be more aerodynamic at 200+mph than the saphire? Not many 3dr Sierra shells left in one piece though.

Another good point and well presented, i can't help it if most (but not all women) see an E plate Sierra with what looks like a picnic table on the boot and a drainpipe as an exhaust and assume i'm a pauper and can't afford a newer car. But i do need a car if i'm out on the pull coz the wife would go batshit if i took one home and hotels are so expensive nowdays

    I do not read newspapers!
a standard saph cossie is fast enuff. this one is a beast! you dont need to spend that amount of money, tho for a very big fast comfy car, the saph cosworth.
    i am correct!
upto evo 6 were good cars, fast an good at rally since then, down hill. the 9 is slower than the 6 an the exact same as the 8, but with 9 instead of 8!
I am always correct, my mum told me so!

I had three cosworths. One 4x4, One RWD and one Escort. And I still see the Sierra/Sapphire as a familycar (but faster). And they are not well build. Cosworth maybe did their job right but Ford did not. Well, I like it anyway. I thinking of buying a swedish rwd with 519hp. It's great to humiliate supercars with those cosworths ;)

Its actually in A1 condition. It looks crap on this video because it had just blasted down a very wet/dirty runway at over 200mph.
Someone asked for its figures.(on 220mph gearing)
    0-60 4.09
    0-100 6.9
    0150 12.7
    0-180 17.8
    0-200 24.4

They sell exactly the same cars (and I mean exactly). Only the names/badges are different.
However in England we used to have Vauxhall Carltons and Vauxhall Omegas. They were not the same cars but more like comparing a Peugeot 205 and a Peugeot 207.
The Vauxhall Vectra replaced the Vauxhall Cavalier in much the same way.
I could park a UK Vauxhall; Vectra, Cavalier, Omega and Carlton all next to each other and you will see they are all different cars.

1:08 what happened the the front Right headlight here? There's something streaming from it and the headlight housing seems to be unmounted, but then in the next shot it's perfect again. You can also see the same damage when the car is going past the camera over 200mph

Sorry, Ill just pick you up on a few of your silly points.
    1) Opel IS Vauxhall. Vauxhall is the English name, Opel the rest of Europe.
    2) A Carlton is NOT an Omega they are completly different cars
    3) They both come in left and right hand drive
    4) A Lotus Carlton wont beat a 911 Turbo
    5) The 228mph Omega I mentioned is of course not standard (derrr) and should do 280mph (by Ole Ringstad - A Norwegian farmer)
    6) My point was about the Omegas strikingly low drag coefficient.
