For the slide release: I sanded mine down at a slight angle(very small angle) and smoothed it off. After a few passes with sand paper, i'd re-assemble and test. Take too much off and it'll drop the slide with little to no pressure. if you do this, BE CAREFUL and TAKE YOUR TIME! This is a very common issue on the shield 45s.
Year late to the party, but for some reason this gun has caught my interest again. I have a performance center in 9mm... Guess I'm still trying to convince myself I need (want) the .45
iloveshootingshit BTW I just subbed. You have a great channel bro. Keep it up! My channel is still new so I can appreciate everything you've done to get to where you're at. 👍🏼
I have one. Took to the range the first time and after 75 rounds it started to FTF, FTE....Took it home and cleaned the shit out of it. I will take to range again and see if it has the same problem again. The porting makes the weapon get very dirty.
i would love to have this pistol size & caliber is excellent. only downside is 45acp coming out a short barrel & not penetrating deep enough but i think underwood extreme defense rds at1600fps will fix that. thanks for your review not many out & yours was informative. stay safe shoot straight & train til you cant get it wrong brother!
Over all you did a nice job on this video. Not a safety Nazi at all but I did observe your little buddy has his finger on the trigger from the time he picks it up till the time he puts it down. You would be a great friend to teach him the fundamentals of gun handling safety :)
Sadly i do not have a trigger pull gauge. All i can say is its better then the standard trigger and feels like a M&P pro series trigger with a better reset. I hope you enjoy your new firearm. Its fantastic considering its size how controllable it is
The trigger safety prevents the trigger from moving backwards in the event that you drop your weapon or you fall and slam the butt of the gun on the ground... Very ingenious ehh? And you question it’s worth? Dude!!!
Well when it's compared to a glock trigger safety where its located in the middle of the trigger. That way if the trigger has something graze it, unless it goes deep into the trigger guard, the trigger won't move. I prefer the glock style over the M&P. But the firing pin block safety makes it safe from accidental discharges. I will give you that.
ILOVESHOOTINGSHIT Just one more thing please! My brand new Glock 19 Gen 4 throws empties in my face and stovepipes are a regular occurrence! It’s been over 500 rounds and still the annoying ejection problems keep happening! Shouldn’t it be “Broke In” by now?
ILOVESHOOTINGSHIT Lol! This is so cool! Because of your video Dad bought me an M&P 45 Shield just like the one you featured! I absolutely love it! The magazines are terribly hard to load but other than that... I love it! Thanks man!
I appreciate you taking time for the review; you had some good points. I did notice your friend needs some work on his grip; finger on front of trigger guard differently not recommended by any trainer I've heard and left thumb never made contact with firearm frame or overlap his right hand. It was a good example for the need of good fundamentals. That is something we all need to work on all the time. Like my favorite high profile reviewer on UA-cam says, it's not the gun or the caliber size, but shoot placement that matters most. Good advise for all who shoot. If you think you need a 45 acp (my personal fav 1911) for self defense, you need to update your ballistics info. I'm learning all the time; I'm fairly new at this only, 45 years and still learning. Fundamentals, fundamentals, fundamentals. I'm not so sure about the ports yet for a strictly self defense firearm, if I'm doing competitive shooting OK, that makes sense. Thanks for sharing guys!
Great gun but the standard shield 45 would make a better carry gun for the reason that it's not ported. if you draw and fire with the gun at your waist, you'll have high pressure hot gasses flying in the direction of your face. just an opinion.

Great review. Bought one last night. Can't wait to shoot. Subbed to your channel.
Hey thanks for the compliment. I hope you enjoy my content
Not many reviews on this gun out there. Very informative. Just bought one. Great job!

Just picked up the performance centre 45 shield with fiber optic sights brand new for $399. Cant wait to get hold of it
subscribed just because of your name.. great review
Good review, brother. I have had my performance center shield since July and I love it. I load mine with Federal HST 230 grain.
mihermano936 If you’ve shot the 9mm, how does the recoil compare?
Nice review man. That gun looks sweet!
it is one that i would suggest you try
Smith and Wesson has a rebate now on the Shield for $75 off. I'm considering it

thank you. that is probably the nicest comment i have ever gotten.
Why does it look so large in your hands
Timmy Turner its actually just smaller than a glock 19. its big
Will there be a full size frame to the M&P shield performance .45?

Will there be a full size of the performance center 9mm, or .45 acp?

Great video, I just picked one up on Gun Broker. Cannot wait! Have you tried reading the trigger pull weight?

iloveshootingshit Awesome man! Thanks!!
You made no true comparison to the Beretta??🤔
You want me to? I love my beretta
@@iloveshootingshit No it would be comparison, two different caliber, thanks

@@kellyfinney7381 Well I am no expert, but that might be corrected by an aftermarket extractor. I would contact Glock to see what they would advise
