      The one I've ordered is listed as a sub hilted Bowie with burl wood handle, priced at £160 = $204.
      It'll likely never leave the house as laws are pretty strict here, more of a display piece.
      I do have a nice Buck Kalinga Pro folder that I carry when I'm out hiking and camping.

I'll tell ya as far as sharpening goes, if you could invest in a Worksharp the Ken Onion edition it's worth its weight in gold my friend. You would have every knife in your house razor sharp inna bout a half hr if you bought one. Lol! Other than that you can get a Smith's diamond sharpener from Walmart for about $14. It works great.

      @@sigmanarchery54 your so welcome my friend. I use the Worksharp in a coupla videos. My make a spear from a knife blank vid and my puma bowie vid. I have the larger belt grinder attachment system for it though. It's an extra $70 or $80 on top of the $130 for the base model. It doesn't have a guide and give me a more freehand range of movement. The regular base model has a guide and slightly smaller belts that is perfect for the beginner. It's called the Worksharp Ken onion addition. I got it off Amazon. UA-cam has a plethora of videos on it so I think after watchn a few youd take to it like a duck to water.

    I found impact cutlery knifes on eBay too and really wonder how the quality is. Fit n finish and of course how functional they are. Cause for the price they ask you can also get a tops or work tuff gear or cold steel blade!

    • @sigmanarchery54

      So far fit and finish was very nice was definitely pleased. And yes there are many different knives you can purchase but a lot of the cold steel knives and other knives like that the price is even higher and definitely not as decorative or ornate truly just depends on your taste and what you intend to do with them. Those look like Pakistani knives. They can be really hit or miss. The steel is not always what they say it is. It's a good sign the one is already sharp. The next question is will it stay sharp. Try slicing some paper and then cut some hemp rope and then back to the paper every 10 cuts. If you can make it several rounds it's pretty decent.
    I seen some impact fantasy blades on ebay that look interesting and wanted to do some research. Let me know if you like it. Some great company's Tops, bark river, work tuff, cold steel, fallkniven, fox, are all quality knives and are proven.

    • @UncleDanBand64
      @UncleDanBand64 3 роки тому +1

      @@sigmanarchery54 Well, you can change the angle with a steel but, it would take some time.....if you needed to reprofile the angle of a blade. I will be honest with you I sucked at sharpening knives. I would use those little blue and white things that you just pull the blade through and they work. I have killed Elk that I used those little sharpeners to sharpen my Magnus Broadheads on. I guess about 20 years ago I got a Klein Pocket Steel. Instantly I could take a dull knife or broadhead and get her shaving sharp. Now it is a chore to sharpen a long bowie with it. It will do it but you will have to do it in sections. The steel needs to be at least as long as the blade if you are wanting to get the length of the blade in one pass. The little Klein is ideal for pocket knives and arrow points. You can buy them at any Electrical Supply. The rod on it is slightly over 1/8" in diameter. My long steel came either from Walmart or a dollar store. It is about a 1/4". I find the ones that come with a set of kitchen knives to be useless for me. They tend to be about 1/2" in diameter. If you have trouble maintaining an angle you could get 2 of them and mount them in a triangle shape so you could just keep the blade straight up and down and pull it through. Also the little cheap pull sharpeners if you go that route will do a great job everywhere but, it will not get the very tip sharp which is the only part that matters or matters most when skinning.
