It's been a rough week crabbing on the Chesapeake for us. We haven't been able to catch many blue crabs from the bay and for some reason both of my work trucks are broken also. Really hoping that next week gets better. Luckily we sold out of the crabs that we have at the crab stand and one of my good buddies @jacobknowles5421 suprised me! It's almost time to start selling soft shell crabs so I have to build a shedding tank to hold them.

Having Jacob stop by all the way from Maine and try to prank you shows how much your friendship has solidified. 😂😂😂😂
The two Dons meet
😮😮
we need a proper collab
Convert the leftover crab into crab cakes and crab rolls in your new food truck. Yup, time to add a food truck to the lot.
That is a perfect suggestion! 👍
I think He'd implode having to manage a crabbing business, youtube editing, AND a restaurant.
Do you have the slightest clue of how much fucking work/time/money it is to set up a food truck??
@@joshuarodriguez3072chill
If you can't multi-task you ain't no crabber 😂😂😂😂
It is standard to be nervous as a business owner, but you have room to be more confident. You are doing great things, and people see that and will always support that. I don't think I have ever eaten crab; not sure I would even like it, but I watch all of your content. That should tell you a lot! Hope you read this just like you see the negative comments!
Some wooden busshell baskets on their side and stacked would make good shirt storage. Roll the shirts and stack them by size in the baskets for easy inventory and sales.
Ha ha Jacob is another favorite UA-camr fisherman of mine! Awesome! Good on you for remaining upbeat during lean times!
Props to your buddy for fixing two trucks in the same day, that's un heard of now a days
And delivering them to his house too!! That's top notch service right there.
For the reverse sensor beeper, there is a module underneath the steering wheel above the brake pedal that looks like a mini speaker. You can unplug that will disable the beeper. Won't fix the issue but won't annoy you :D
Can also turn it off in ForScan. It’s a CanBus software scanning program for Fords. Basically allows you to can anything software related to the vehicle, such diagnostics or altering settings.
I'm a contractor. I'm in the same boat. I'm normally slammed with decks this time of year, but everyone's scared to sign up. Stay strong and afloat, my man it's nothing you're doing. we're all feeling this
Just tell me where and when
Luke, you should have a steamer set up and sell cooked crabs for the folks that travel in from out of town and teach them how to eat the crabs. Also could sell some corn and seasoning etc
Raccoons can jump and swim. You might want to make a rectangle wood frame just bigger than your soft crab tank and wrap it with hardware cloth and then just drop it over the top of the tank. It would be simple to cover and remove and it would also keep any of your larger predator birds out there too. I hope that makes sense.
Just trap them and sell Coon skin hats
totally agree
Was like "where's the lid"?
Yeah
Yep raccoons will find a way to get in there they'll do acrobatics on the rope
Love that Jacob Knowles came and saw you all.
That dude is awesome
Our two favorite fishermen, Luke and Jacob!
This continues to be an amazing example of "Temporary Permanent" fixes at every turn, with great humor explaining each one of them.
"If it's working, it's finished." - Luke saying what we're all thinking anyways.
i like the saying, " the best time to plant a tree is twenty years ago, the next best time is today" or " take your food like medicine, or you'll take your medicine like food."😅
The only thing that makes sense about the current market conditions is that it doesn’t make sense. Just always start every day with a little prayer and end it with a prayer of thanks. Folks love you guys for your honesty and hard work and of course we just enjoy the fact that you’re just down to earth regular hard working people who let us into their crazy lives to watch you succeed despite your antics and setbacks. Y’all have what it takes and besides if you don’t have the itch for this kind of life well then you don’t have the crabs.☮️out.
Dude - paper bag sign is 100% crab stand. Everything looks great. How about "Mr. Crabs" for the cat name?
Mr Crabs is a superb name!
Name the cat Buoy
Caught your monologue on Bear Grease podcast. It is great to see you getting recognition from the outdoor community.
Great Depression Chic absolutely needs some merch. A sticker or hat would be pretty good. I also am still waiting for Yaint no crabber in the same form factor
I’m amazed at your ingenuity, MacGyver way of doing things. Very cool.
Lots of people build cold plunge tubs out of chest freezers. Grab a chest freezer, make lid removable, get an inverter for the boat and never have to buy ice!
For the people that fly in.. want the crab experience.. set up some tables.. you buy and boil.. sell your seasoning and crabs 🦀.. they can steam their own crabs, just provide the pot and propane.. maybe a few station.. or you show them how it’s done!! Win, win
....now you're cooking with butter!
So cool that Jacob came to visit you. Mainers rock!
Luke, you're now in the retail business, and it will come and go. It's the nature of the business. Keep the good stuff coming buddy.
If you have a spicket on the dock you can get a motion sensor sprinkler used to scare deer out of gardens to keep the racoons off the barge.
I went flounder gigging last weekend and the blue crabs were everywhere. Sadly no flounder but the crabs made for a fun night. Come to the gulf, crabs everywhere and nice weather most of the year.
Appreciate you brotha, you’re an inspiration not only to the kids that see your content, but older folk like me to chase dreams by any means necessary. My 5 year old loves watching you crab and I told her I would take her out to see you. We’ll see you soon my man!
I’m a small business owner myself and this week kicked my butt too. Must be in the air! We made it to Friday though! Keep up the grind Luke!
What kind of work do you do? Have a good weekend
You are literally an engineer without the degree and sometimes without the math. Very nice work.
Just wrap that foam with metal ac duct tape... It has great adhesive that lasts and is metal so holds up to the bumps and bangs..
I hope someday..while I’m still young enough 🥴 to come visit your crab store sight. You and your wife are a breath of fresh air ❤️🇺🇸
There is an electrical connector down by the parking brake on the super duty. It can loosen up a little and throw all of those warning. Grab it and pinch it back together. Good luck.
Use some Velcro on your chalk markers and Velcro them to the back of your board. Makes it easy to keep up with them.
I can't wait for the shipping. They ship all of our cabs to Maryland, so I will ship some of your back.. Great Video Luke......
Luke you all are doing a Fine Job, it's very nice watching you fulfill your dreams. Thanks for taking us along and keep going man.
DUDEEE!! I’ve always hoped you and Jacob would meet / Collab! So spectacular that the universe agrees!! that’s so epic that he made it out!! 😭✨✨✨✨
Good Job Man! Proud of you for keeping it going and always moving forward!
So cool Knowles showed up! Best of luck this year!
This is my favorite show on UA-cam I don't watch reality TV so this is it for me and I love it. This guy is funny. It's creative and a great watch. I'm definitely going to order some Crabs from him even though I could get them. I'm not too far from the ocean where I live but I'm just going to support him.
Heck ya man!!! A little Jake Knoll!!!
Glad he stopped by. That's so awesome!
I vote do a plywood box on back side with lids to keep shirts out the boat off the floor.
Cats name should be shark bait. 😂
that was cool having Jacob Knowles on you show. I follow you both. I think that you're both great. Keep up the good work!
Get big clear plastic tubs with lids to store the shirts in. That way you can keep them dry when a freak summer storm comes up, plus you can stack them when needed so you can save space.
Also, to get in, put a set of steps on the backside of the boat. I'd take the cleat off of your pick up area to free up space.
You are the hardest working man I have ever seen in a long time . Good luck with all your endeavors.
Hey Luke, IDEA! Find an old Bar Ice bin, inside the bin is a solid hunk of metal that the soda lines run through. This allows the ice to last longer in the bin for mixed drinks. So find one of those thick plates from an ice bin to help keep the CULL BIN cold.
Oh shit! Jacob shows up, I was just thinking these 2 need to collab!
Keep your head up, Luke! You're doing good work!!!
Friday mornings are the best when I see the notification of your videos.
"If you have crabs... you have crabs." That was great Lindsay
Jacob as a drop in was awesome - love that guy - love the video - got my shirt - great show - thanks for sharing !!!
make a walkway/deck, like a swim platform on the back of the boat that way you can back the trailer up, and have enough room for an entrance/exit. Also add a 2x4 on end under the warped board for strength and to straighten it.
Jacob showing up was very cool. Love the guy. Nice work on the float Luke.
leave a gap between the freezer trailer and the shop/boat then build a gangplank to the trailer lower than the trailer so in quiet ties you canclose the chiller door. it will also makeentry into the shop easier by stepping onto the gangplank to get in.
You can disable the backup camera alarm by driving a vehicle built prior to 2018.
Older the better.
his truck is a 2011-2016 lol
Rokform makes some pretty badass cases with a strong magnet so you can mount your phone to most metal surfaces. you have a tripod without the tripod. love your content, Luke. congrats on your storefront!
Glad you found a cat. A great addition to your crew. I don't think you should buy a cat, they pick you. At least, that's where I've got all my cats. Hope they're a stable captain companion. Plenty of bait n a safe helm, a job to do. Should be a pretty happy cat. A ships cat is quite a blessing. It'll name itself soon enough. Mine is called Smegol, lord of the rings, but everyone calls her Smeghead, Red Dwarf. She doesn't seem to mind, knows when she's being talked to.
Yay my favorite lobster guy supporting other fishermen!
Luke, I think the crab stand looks awesome. I really admire all your hard work well you and your crew because we all know there is no I in team I really love your videos. I watch everyone you put out. Keep up the good work. Stay positive. Tiny Houston MS ( Len Price )
Cat name suggestion ... Furball. Also raccoons are excellent swimmers and climbers soooo ... good luck. Thanks for another awesome, entertaining video.
So cool to see Knowles come down
7:45 prep the surface by looking at it… yep looks fine😂😂😂
For the backup sensors alarm, you can use FORScan to turn it off. The software is free, you just need a compatible OBD2 interface.
Can also turn your cruise control into launch control if you so please
Your cooler bin will need a top that is equally insulated as the side and hopefully the bottom. I suggest start with at least two inches thick.
Necessity is the mother of invention. Love your ingenuity. It's great having a wife that is supported of your endeavors. IMHO you'll always come out on top.
I go down to Louisiana coast, catching crabs from hand line. Crab boils with fresh crab is a delight
Perfect morning video on my day off, good luck!! and thanks for the wholesome content!!
“Be sure to prep the surface, by just staring at it for a while” 🤣 this channel is a hidden gem man. So glad I found it.
The hustle is real, Luke! Keep on keepin on. Lovin the content!
Watching from manchester england 🇬🇧 keep up the brilliant content luke i love watching what goes on in the crabbing and fishing companys im hooked in watching the progress 🪝
Best quality T-shirts on UA-cam! Get you one folks.
I would LOVE to, however the shirt sizes only go up to 3X and even those are sold out. I would even gladly pay a premium for larger sizes.
$80 for a sweat shirt? That's a crazy high price.
So cool to see everyone's favorite crabber and lobsterman together
Great vid!! Love Jacob you guys are excellent! Keep up the great work!
See if you can get some old rollers off a conveyor or packaging facility and mount them on the edge so they will be stainless and roll if the line puts to much force on it. See if you can find a divider for a refrigeration trailer so you can keep that trailer at temp and keep the main door open.
Good luck bud wishing you all the best just keep pushing forward and always strive to keep a good solid name!!
Great to see Jacob run south for the Grand opening!
Your crab prices are great! My local spot is X-Larges: $128 dz. Worth the drive to come support you!
You live and you learn! Love this❤
You need to keep a roll of stretch wrap in stock. About ten laps around that slush tank with stretch wrap and you're golden for half the summer at least
21:35 Whaaaat?!!! So cool! Love his channel, too!
Hey Luke, get your mechanic buddy to hook up “fordpass”, it connects to you truck computer, you can go through a list of settings and shut off all those alarms electronically 👍
Content is always top-notch and incredibly motivating! Your videos give us the push we need to keep creating and growing our business. Wishing you continued success and looking forward to more amazing content!
Sorry you’re having a bad week brother I will definitely go by a sweatshirt right now. Don’t be discouraged. You are a king!
It's cool to see Jacob come see you. The calab we need haha
That was cool to see Jacob and his family there
I noticed today that I bought some from a crabber in King George, VA. Usually, the #1 crabs are huge, but I noticed that for $230 a bushel, they were small, pretty much #2, but full of meat. Still great crabs, just small.
That's one fancy flexible power pole Luke!
Captain Crabby for the cat. Without a doubt!
9:28 if you know math you ain't no crabber
I bet Lindsay loves it when you get home after each project, you are hard on cloths dude, 5200 and shorts really do go together 😂
You can use Forscan and the OBD cable to change the alarms and settings for most ford trucks
great jerry rigging i love your videos keep up the interesting videos thanks
What an amazing and talented young couple. It's true....behind every great man is a great woman. I've never been lucky enough to have an amazing partner to work hard for.....that's a strong motivation for any good man to work till he drops and do it happily, coz knowing you have someone who always has your back is a really great feeling and motivator.
If you two keep going at it with the attitude you have, you'll be way up there in the future......and you'll have an incredible journey and a fulfilled life along the way. You're both incredibly lucky to have each other as motivation. There is no more perfect formula for a full and happy life.
Seeing you two working together gives me hope that the future won't be as bleak as many out there predict.
Another great video! Your honesty is refreshing versus some creators that always magically have wonderful things happen to them all the time. You're a North Eastener so we all know you'll make it happen regardless of what happens!
Well you know what they say theres a fine line between genius and crazy!!
You are truly becoming the master of crabs. The crab stand design is outstanding for effective work flow and movement. Some kind of shelving system for your shirt stock would help a lot though.
“Never measure, cut twice” 😂
Loving the journey man keep your chin up
Congrats buddy! You're going to get busier!
Hay Juke. Hang that shirt chain across the top horizontally and put two hangers in each shirt you're displaying. hook each hanger through a different link one or two apart on the chain and they will stay facing out and will not blow around.
Luke all raccoons swim, what you need is a hardware screen fitted cover to keep the critters out.
You could build a little platform at the stern of the Dora Lynn with steps to the side and can still back the trailer up and have a way to get in
