I used to own the C64 port. Absolute banger of a port. The fact that the programmers tried to replicate the attract mode on the home micro was a great touch . and it played well too. Those 16 bit ports though. shocking
I loved Pac Land, every year for a few years we used to go to the Isle of Wight on holiday and this was the first game I always listened for and then headed straight for it at the onsite arcade. God, I used to love that moment you walked into an arcade, with all those amazing sound tracks and sound effects going off all at once.
I put so many hours into this game as a youngster in Pontins Holiday Camps. I never found the big jump over the lake to difficult as long as you kept going at a steady rhythm you usually cleared it. I also loved the music and would definitely give the PC Engine version a go as some have said on here. Great video as always OG!
Loved the old arcades during family holidays ! So many great video games all in one place for us to check out !!!! The PCEngine was such a powerhouse console !!!!!
Pacland is one of my favs used to play all the time in holiday in the arcade i remember we went to a caravean site back then and the game was hugely popular nuch so was a que to play it and it broke down one day the monitor went on thr machine so i remember them taking the board out and putting into a green beret cab whilst they fixed the monitor so it could be playied i play it now a lot on my raspberry pi brilll game
Happy days... Think our nostalgic memories from the classic arcades cannot be beaten.... Rushing in to see what video games they had and if there was anything new !!!!! Seeing the latest Out Run sit downs etc for the first time were special times indeed... The Golden Age of gaming 😉🍺
Glad to see u doing another vs video .I loved the arcade version , simple but great fun Gor me the lynx and the pc engine had great versions of this game if u not checked them out i would . The c64 wasn't too bad but the main sprite looks odd to me . But at least it's smooth and plays nice and fast unlike the amiga one The amiga version lost all Parallax and gained jerky atari st scrolling
I absolutely loved pac-land duffy buddy, it was in my local chippy as a kid. I was terrible at it but whenever I hear that tune I get a nostalgia overload.... and really want to play it while getting a chip butty 😂 I was impressed looking at the c64 version then , I never played any other version than the arcade and was gutted we never got a master system or megadrive home port. So I'm picking the c64 if I can't have the arcade 😂
Chip shops and arcade machines !!!! What a great combination back in the day !!!!! Think this would have converted well to the SMS for sure..... Yep C64 is a good choice matey 😉
What's up Duffy! Long-time no-see man. How are you doing? I haven't been on in awhile...work and we're doing a house remodel. What an absolute pain its been but the results are really speaking for themselves.
Hi matey good to hear from you !!! All good here... Loving life and gaming 😉🍺 Sounds like you've been a busy boy !!!! But glad to hear the results are coming through 😎👊
Pacmania is far far better than this, never really liked Pacland unfortunately but still a great video OG ! Maybe you can do Pacmania next !😊 All the best.
@@OGDuffy fantastic OG really look forward to it !! And not to give too much away, but most versions were actually great with one being (I think) better than the arcade version itself !!! So I’d think it could make for a great video & talking point 😊
I too like the music, and like the game, yes, must do a quick double tap for fast running, in this game. I vaguely recollect the Pac-Man board game, with the solid plastic figures that collected marbles. Played loads of those board games, still enjoy stuff like monopoly, CLUEDO or Scrabble, etc, either, in the physical board form or the computerised editions, no idea what happened to that Pac-Man board game. Don't ever recollect the PAC-MAN cartoon, I am of the age the age that did watch Roland Rat on TVAM, just no specific recollection on this.
The cartoon was awesome matey !!!!!! And I remember the boardgame never had it or played it though 🤔 Quite a few arcade games were produced as board games back then if I recall... 😉🍺
@@OGDuffy Agreed, I never had one growing up so now I own 2 one modded. I also have the mini which I think is the best of all the mini consoles in my opinion.
Atari ST and Amiga versions were a disgrace, it should have been exactly like the arcade the developers just didn’t try by the looks of it. Even the spectrum the monochrome why, they could of had the background colorful

Pac Land rocks - and the music lives in my head to this day ❤️
A true earworm 😉🍺
i knew a kid who saw roland rat outside TV-AM HQ and was shocked to see an Arm up Rolands backside lol
🤣 OUCH !!!!!!

I know exactly what you mean.... Racing in the arcade to see what new games there were... Can still smell and hear the sounds now 😉

Same here mate loved it in the arcade used to play all the time on holiday in great Yarmouth and now on my pi 4
I guessed Splatterhouse but yeah love this game
Splatterhouse is a great suggestion matey 😉
Arcade had two sticks no buttons many happy days
Really... i thought original cab was button based? My bad 😉
I remember Roland Rat Yaaay rat rappin
Thats the one !!!!!! 😉🍺
As a spectrum fanboy, it pains me to say it, but the c64 absolutely smashes it out of the park - including against the 16bit versions.
I know matey but the Speccy does well in some of the other VS vids 😉
Decent Roland Rat impersonation there OG 😁
Can you do Kevin the Gerbil as well ?🤪
Thanks matey... I do try 😉 'Ratfans!!!!!!!' 😎
I loved the game and music mate
Me too... colourful, bright and great tune 😉
@@OGDuffy I have on my ps5

Hi OG you should do an arcade music pole, cannot beat Outrun arcade soundtrack
Outrun music is classic matey 😉
Hi Duffy, could you please play The Great Gianna Sisters? Such a great game mate honestly.
Will give it some thought matey 😉
