I have chronic intractable migraines. The majority are triggered by the weather including drop in barometric pressure. But, I also have migraines triggered by tightness in the back of my neck as well as tightness and cramping in my upper trapezius muscles. These migraines are far worse, take longer to improve and cause more symptoms. To help with this migraine trigger, I was prescribed a low dose of a medication with a positive side effect of relaxing muscles. Last year I saw a repeat episode of a Japanese show on NHK World (I believe the series was called Gatten and most episodes involve interviews of medical specialists). It made me realize that it is possible to gain relief if I was taught how to relax my muscles. A few months ago, I found your channel and I've learned a lot. First of all, tongue to the roof of the mouth truly helps (from my experience) the movements become even more effective. I appreciate that you remind subscribers to do this. I also appreciate how the channel combines movement with information. It helps to understand why things happen and why certain exercises are beneficial. My pain tonight was very bad. I was nearing an 8 and on the verge of another intense migraine. These exercises helped a lot. I've saved this video to a Playlist. I know how important it is to be shown the correct way to do exercises and you've really done a great job of helping viewers use the right form. Thank you so much.
WOW. After waking up once again with the muscles between my neck and right shoulder in spasm, doing this quick series gave me some relief. Thanks so much!
This is pretty valuable and I'm going to add this to my regular neck warm ups I do. I deal with a connective tissue disorder and scoliosis in between my shoulder blades. Over the past year I've really ramped up working on fixing muscle imbalances and my posture. Its meant slowly realigning and opening up my shoulders and working on scap control (In part thanks to this channel). I've made huge strides but recently there were some compensations that hit my neck and jaw muscles. Using a variety of therapies, the pain and stiffness went down but those muscles are still sore and this really helped with that. So thank you! Found this video a year late, but still at the perfect time!

Useful and safe exercises, thank you! Neck often stiff due to side sleeping. Shoulder is pressed forward at night. Upper back shoulder blade and neck are impacted. Tried different pillows but haven't found best one.
I got a little more side to side movement and my neck just felt more lose and relaxed. My pain isn't very high, maybe a 3 and it reduced just slightly. Not so much pain relief as relaxation. My pain comes from sleep, I wake up with a stiff neck, upper back and right shoulder do to a C7 injury a couple years ago. Thank you!
Hi, and thanks for trying it out. That is not uncommon, and the exercises will help. When was the last time you changed your pillow and/or mattress? Do you sleep on your right side? Could this be used with a fuse neck c3 thu c6 ?
Yup...make sure to let pain guide you.

Pain mostly comes from overhead work and sleeping. Exersizea helped feel better.
Thanks for trying it out!
Isometrics has helped to lessen some tightness and at 1-2 level of pain
So good!
How many times repetitions please respond
1 rep per position is sufficient :)

Do u recommend a certain pillow?
Look for a pillow that supports your head in such a way to keep your neck as neutral as possible. If your pillow if too high or low you may experience issues :)

Working overhead for sure
No doubt.
When I wake up. Started at like a 6, went to a 3 after exercises. If I keep repeating, will the pain decrease more?
That is our hope and please keep working on it :)

Anxiety and daily stress bring on this ache and may last for days
Yikes!
I fell backwards in the woods and have pain moving neck side to side..
Ouch!
Did you try out the exericses?
- Coach Joshua, Team PM
I had shoulder neck stiff about Degreed 7 sour or Overhead after working. :) This is a nice warm up for my poor posture in that area. But the other one works better sometimes. ( and I don't know why_)
Thanks for trying it out!
I find when I press on my forehead and resist that, I get the most pain. Any suggestions on what to do? I did just start your ROM routine for neck pain, part 1. P.S. My neck is habitually over-tight.
Keep working on that routine and you will improve with time and practice :)

My neck from 6/10 went down to 1/10. It worked. I will try this isometric during the day. I realise though I have aches elswhere. Sigh!
Nice work!

Pain in left side of neck on waking
Did the exercise help?
- Coach Joshua, Team PM
Yes, the exercises relieved the pain, thank you! Sleeping on my side with my neck bent was the problem, now resolved 🙏
My neck hurts as soon as i lie belly down and turn my neck to either side. It is so painful, I cannot lie face down at all.
Did you try out the exercise?
- Coach Joshua, Team PM
@@PrecisionMovementCoach Hi Yes I did it before my message and a few times since. My neck restriction is not from a overnight crick but several injuries which occurred over a decade ago, like a bad fall on ice and a heavy (cheap) bike falling down on me.
@@marys1113 keep working on the exercises and let us know how it goes :)

My neck pain starts when I wake up
Ouch!
How about you try out the exercise at that time?
Also, consider grabbing the Neck Pain Solution program. It can help you to assess and address the root cause of your issues:

Excessive head banging listening to metal
ha!
What is worrying me is the fact that symptoms of a dysfunctional C-Spine can be the many ones of a squeezed vagus nerve which runs so close to C2
Tittinitus, dizziness, tachycardia, shortness of breath, difficulty to swallow, reflux, dyspepsia, dysfunctional intestines and chronic anxiety
Having several of these symptoms speak for that cause
Needless to say that it is fully ignored by doctors..
Finding a osteopath for that is not an easy thing
In any case these Iso are so safe.. it can only be good..
Hopefully they help :)
So what happened was my twitching tight feeling reduced and actually twitched a bit more but gradually lowered. Going have to try this again daily. Will update with more update. Thanks for the video very helpful
