Always True To You (In My Fashion) (Kiss Me Kate piano karaoke cover - 1999 revival version)

- I haven't posted in a while, so I just thought I'd post a new one while at the same time plugging my next show. I play with a 19-piece orchestra on stage for a special concert adaptation of KISS ME KATE in Staten Island next Saturday (two performances only at 2:00 and 8:00). I can't wait. So I played this using the sheet music. Keep in mind that A, I'm still practicing, and B, it's the revival version, orchestrated by the great Don Sebesky, and was originally sung in the revival by the great Amy Spanger. Comments are deeply appreciated, and so is singing along. I love this song and I wanted to share it with all of you. ;)
Thank you so much for posting this! I am about to use it for my zoom audition repertoire class and I feel like a true performer with this karaoke version! THANK YOU!!! So fun.
fan-fookin-tastic!!!!!! I'm a fellow pianist, I think there are no words to describe how amazing you are. Truly the master of us all.
that's what i call talent!!!! congrats
thx!!! im singing this for an audition, and i didnt have an insrumental, so u helped alot!!!!!!
This is the correct version I checked :)
Oh, Bill
Why can't you behave
Why can't you behave?
How in hell can you be jealous
When you know, baby, I'm your slave?
I'm just mad for you
And I'll always be
But naturally
If a custom-tailored vet
Asks me out for something wet
When the vet begins to pet, I cry "hooray!"
But I'm always true to you, darlin', in my fashion
Yes, I'm always true to you, darlin', in my way
I enjoy a tender pass
By the boss of Boston, Mass
Though his pass is middle-class and not Backa Bay
But I'm always true to you, darlin', in my fashion
Yes, I'm always true to you, darlin' in my way
There's a madman known as Mack
Who is planning to attack
If his mad attack means a Cadillac, okay!
But I'm always true to to you, darlin', in my fashion
Yes, I'm always true to you, darlin' in my way
I could never curl my lip
To a dazzlin' diamond clip
Though the clip meant "Let 'er rip", I'd not say "Nay!"
But I'm always true to to you, darlin, in my fashion
Yes, I'm always true to you, darlin' in my way
I've been asked to have a meal
By a big tycoon in steel
If the meal includes a deal, accept I may
But I'm always true to you, darlin', in my fashion
Yes, I'm always true to you, Darlin' in my way
There's an oil man known as "Tex"
Who is keen to give me checks
And his checks, I fear, mean that sex is here to stay!
But I'm always true to you, darlin', in my fashion
Yes, I'm always true to you, darlin' in my way
(1st Encore)
There's a wealthy Hindu priest
Who's a wolf, to say the least
When the priest goes too far East, I also stray
But I'm always true to to you, darlin', in my fashion
Yes, I'm always true to you, darlin'in my way
There's a lush from Portland, Ore
Who is rich but such a bore
When the bore falls on the floor, I let him lay
But I'm always true to to you, darlin', in my fashion
Yes, I'm always true to you, darlin', in my way
Mister Harris, plutocrat
Wants to give my cheek a pat
If the Harris pat means a Paris hat, ok. Oo-la-la!
Mais je suis toujours fidele, darlin', in my fashion
Oui, je suis toujours fidele, darlin', in my way
From Ohio, Mister Thorne
Calls me up from night 'til morn
Mister Thorne once corner'd corn and that ain't hay
But I'm always true to to you, darlin', in my fashion
Yes, I'm always true to you, darlin', in my way
Mister Gable, I mean Clark
Wants me on his boat to park
If the Gable boat means a sable coat, anchors aweigh!
But I'm always true to to you, darlin', in my fashion
Yes, I'm always true to you, darlin', in my way
Thanks for this great instrumental version of the second best song of the "Kiss Me, Kate" score. IMHO, nothing can ever top "Brush Up Your Shakespeare" since they'll all kowtow! ;)
Great job on this terrific Broadway song.
Simply Wonderful!!

Hi Josh! I remember using this to practice for year and now I have a voice student using the encore cut for an audition. Would it be possible to get that section of this accompaniment? I’d be happy to pay for it! We’ve been using it to rehearse and love it 😊
That's a great tempo for that song. Good work!

Não, você não é
[LOIS LANE]
Eu sou
E você não tem ciúmes
Tá fingindo e batendo o pé
E não tem porquê
Se eu sou seu bebê
Mas burra eu não sou
Se um rapaz me convidar
Pro cinema ou pra jantar
Não preciso nem pensar
Eu já aceitei
Mas eu sou sempre fiel
Só que do meu jeito
Mas eu sou sempre fiel
Como só eu sei
Eu adoro um Pequinês
Que eu ganhei de um japonês
E de quando em vez
Me mostra o seu Shar Pei
Mas eu sou sempre fiel
Só que do meu jeito
Mas eu sou sempre fiel
Como só eu sei
Eu jamais diria não
Para quem me estende a mão
Mas quem dá a mão, recebe
Então eu dei
Mas eu sou sempre fiel
Só que do meu jeito
Mas eu sou sempre fiel
Como só eu sei
Tem um cara de Paris
Que me ofereceu rubis
Um rubi aqui, um beijinho ali
Ih, troquei
Mais avais-je toujours été fidèle
Só que do meu jeito
Mais avais-je toujours été fidèle
Como só eu sei
Tem um certo Mr. Fritz
Que me leva sempre ao Ritz
E depois do Ritz quer brincar de blitz
Brinquei
Mas eu sou sempre fiel
Só que do meu jeito
Mas eu sou sempre fiel
Como só eu sei
Tem um tal de Valdecir
Que pescou um Lambari
Me pediu pra eu segurar
E eu segurei
Mas eu sou sempre fiel
Só que do meu jeito
Mas eu sou sempre fiel
Como só eu sei
Um gerente me seguiu
Lá do Banco do Brasil
Deu carona ao senador
E agora é lei
Só viajo de jatinho
Mas do meu jeito
Mas eu sou sempre fiel
Como só eu sei
Tem um tal de Seu Neném
Que noventa aninhos tem
É fofinho e vem mostrar seu trem
Ah, entrei
Mas eu sou sempre fiel
Só que do meu jeito (não sou?)
Mas eu sou sempre fiel
Como só eu sei
Tem um Padre Xandre lá
Diz que quem recebe dá
Eu queria receber
Então eu dei
Mas eu sou sempre fiel
Só que do meu jeito
Mas eu sou sempre fiel
Como só eu sei
O maestro me pediu
Com a mão no meu quadril
Para dar um dó de peito
Então... Eu dei
Mas eu sou sempre fiel
Só que do meu jeito
Mas eu sou sempre fiel
Como só eu sei
~Telefone toca
(Peraí)
Mr. Gable, sabe o Clark? Pois é...
Me chamou pra andar no parque
E pra lá do parque
Num cantinho 'dark'
Eu apaguei
Mas eu sou sempre fiel
Só que do meu jeito
Mas eu sou sempre fiel
Como só eu sei
Amazing! Can I use this for a cover???
I keep finding SO many different lyrics. I think I'm just going to bite the bullet and type up EXACTLY what it says on my soundtrack version.
And random: Think you might be able to give a listen to the Peggy Lee Black Coffee album and record some of those, especially Black Coffee and "Aint I Good to You"? You're really the best piano poster I've found. You play professionally, and manage to play with expression.
Staten Island? THen you live in my neck of the woods. lol I'd love for you to post more Kiss Me Kate. Hell. Bring on all the cole Porter you can stand; this is fantastic. Out of curiosity, which set of lyrics fit this cut? I keep running out of lyrics by the time the reprise comes on.

I'm having trouble finding the 1999 version sheet music online anywhere. Is it possible someone could direct me to where they found it or could I get a PDF? I would be willing to pay.
yeah it'd be great if you could do like Wunderbar and So in Love... OOH! Or I Hate Men...
sorry... i did this with my High School and LOVED it! only I didn't play the slutty character for once. lol
very good, though! I loved it!

I sang along with The Complete Lyrics of Cole Porter and just the last stanza in the fourth refrain is missing. Strange. However, it is still the longest version of the song that I have come across. Well done!
