yo man, one thing i noticed you can improve on is letting the front tyres load up before you turn in, when you brake you tend to try turning in very aggressively which results in understeer. If you brake and slowly let off while turning in the car will rotate much better. Also, getting used to the track and figuring out how much speed CAN be carried into the corner will help gauge how much to slow down and your lines etc. Maybe try some grip runs first and try and carry as much speed as possible to see what the limit is. Good luck!
Edit: Also since the 86 doesn't have TOO much power you can afford to step more confidently even if it means having to countersteer on exit, this will help your confidence and will actually improve your throttle control believe it or not since you can feel EXACTLY where the limit of throttle is on the wheel

I'm happy you're back, I've had to not upload for a long time because of school and that my foot is healed but not fully. Hope you're having a good day!

Hey man, its been quite some time, i see you're having problems with lag that sucks man, since you play on a laptop i thought maybe it has something to do with overheating but it gets fixed with borderless mode? Weird.
Also you're working two shifts 7 days a week man, dayum, im speechless, don't forget to get enough sleep and avoid any addictions, except working towards your dreams, which btw im glad you're so determined to become a professional driver, you have all my support (whatever that means haha) and wish you good luck. I think learning to drift is gonna help you catch those supercars when they go out of control 👌
Anyways, about drifting, i also don't like mindlessly sliding even on the straights, i think it looks quite ridiculous, so im happy to see that you like the old style of drifting as well, unless i misunderstood haha.
But i think you're confused about what to do with your foot while drifting. To drift, it is true that the ideal performance is holding the throttle all the way from start to finish but you have to play with it, and left foot braking is almost never used unless you're doing go kart driving or on an FF layout car.
You also got the wrong idea of why you're not being able to make proper long drifts, and you're just sliding into guardrails. From what I've seen here, its not because you need to be on the gas faster, neither because you gotta use the left foot. It's because you're turning into the corner super fast, and then you just hold your steering like that, towards the corner, so what happens is actually the opposite of what you want, why? Because the front wheels end up almost perpendicular to the direction the car is moving, imagine that.
When you turn the wheel super fast like that you're actually initiating the drifts most of the time, you already fixed that part, but you're still so used to getting understeer that you keep holding it.
This time, a new problem arises, but youre still holding to the previous solution. You gotta countersteer much much earlier, and don't step on the gas until you feel the slide, because you will feel it trust me.
When it comes to countersteering, less is better, because if you countersteer too much you're gonna snap to the other way, so turn the wheel 1/8 of a circle and see how it goes. A car drifting with little countersteer can be saved by simply easing the throttle.

@@unlimitedquickworks7387 yess overheating is one issue.. my right internal fan is broken and i bought an external fan under the laptop and it have no issues with assetto corsa, usually only overheats on heavy games! I think the lag comes from new windows update where it makes my app goes to efficiency mode somewhat during fullscreen, its like when a program is alt tabbed to save power..
Yess im working 2 jobs, 5 days full time on one, and a barista for 2 days! And some days, those 2 are together since my full time is night, and barista is morning ;-; i have like 1 day off overall and spent it sleeping or groceries..
Yes im currently in the point in life where im deciding what my future job is, and a father of a friend of mine have a thailand racing group for SEA countries, and i asked if her dad one day would sponsor me if i ever get into professional racing and she agreed ~

Personally i dont use left foot braking unless im driving a fwd or im trying to grip the road. You shouldnt even be braking during the corner if you are trying to drift. If you find yourself braking during the corner that means you didnt brake enough going into it.

@@datboisteve5105 oh i never knew! I think back then, someone told me to use braking drift for these corners as a way to learn weight transfers! So ever since then, all downhill I did was just drifting using brakes and gas only, i havent touched the clutch and handbrake for ages, i only use them for uphill when the car dont have enough power..

@@realTakumifujiwarayeah you gotta brake before taking the corner just like you would normally do during grip, and blend just a bit of that braking into the corner to induce oversteer, but only a bit at the entry, you shouldn't be braking while drifting. Like for example on that first hairpin, break hard for just a sec and start releasing the brakes slowly, when you reach 25% pressure, steer to the right quickly and release the remaining 25%, at the same time bring the steering to neutral. It's just a moment where braking and steering overlap to have the weight on the front.

If you want to drift you are gonna have to flick alot harder than that tbh
