Tennessee opening day Gobbler 2024

Roosted these birds from a distance the night before. Went in early and found a spot to setup while watching the gobbler on the limb in the skylight. One gobbler flew down below me at an elevation I couldn’t see, and another pitched down right in front of me, and I elected to pass on that gobbler as I had not had a chance to partake in my favorite part, calling! When I purred to clear my call it was the first call I had made. 10 minutes later 2 gobblers were at 20 yards. Awesome spring morning!

Thanks for the Turkey hunt this morning Sam. I haven’t had the chance to go yet. The action, the calling, the moving around the tree, the cussing, that damn hen, the stillness of the morning, the heavy breathing when you know he’s close and the final shot are what makes memories!!! Again thanks for the hunt and that Decatur county bird 😁👍💯
