I have a senior cat which doesn’t always make it to the litter boxes, so I’m left cleaning up after him. Others would have put him to sleep ages ago but he is still able to eat and drink without having any I’ll effects, plus he isn’t losing weight yet either. He’s just getting older and probably has arthritis. I know this very well, I’m 74. He seems to be doing well, but I’m also thinking his time might getting closer too. He is close to being 15/16 years old. Even though he has these issues, I don’t have the heart to just put him down right now, his weight is good and he always comes to me when called. He also is my close companion and stays with me all the time. I will do what needs to be done when I know he will be at death’s door, but not right now. When his time is near, I want to be there with him, holding him in my arms while he breathes his last breath. I’ve done this with all my animals, because I won’t leave any of them die alone. They were always with me until they were older, and I will be with them when they need me and breathing their last breath. This is what true love and companionship is about, being there for each other. 👍❤️🙏🏼😇
You have a very lucky cat and I fully agree with your sentiments and as long as he isn't suffering he is better off as he is. Bless you for caring so much for him. Like I said he is a luck cat with a lovely mommy.
I can tell you love your precious senior boy very much ❤️ Please continue to be patient with him and move his litter box close by where he likes to hang out. And don’t send him to the Rainbow Bridge until he is clearly suffering. You both have earned this precious extra time together 🤗❤️. Thinking of you!
Just remember that cats die a painful death and you might want to consider that option a bit earlier than you think. I say this from experience. Not so much specifically me though my parents with a cat. We had a cat much like that and it all seemed like he had more time. One day they were out shopping and they came home to him not being around anymore. They found him out in the open I think on the coffee table. You might think he has more time, but their death is very sudden and when it start's it's too late. They will die an excruciatingly painful death with seizures and their bodies contorting. Don't make him go through that for you. For the record I'm saying it's the hardest choice anyone can make. We never really know just how much time they really have left. At the same time it's the greatest act of love you can show them. They may or may not have more time when we think. At the same time I think it's better to save them a painful death.
My big boy OJ was an outdoor cat who took up residence in our garage for about seven years and when I moved he came with me. He's an inside cat now and he doesn't even go near the front door!
Before anyone comes back at me with this. I know a cat being around another cat is a good thing for cat mannerisms. I know that they are there to keep each other company and happy. I know all the benefits of a second cat. With that said here is my stance on a second cat. I would argue that a second cat depending on your schedule is debatable. Also with the knowledge that cats are a financial choice. It also comes down to how capable you are of taking care of them. If you spend most of your days at home and can give them more attention you can do that. I don't/didn't have the capacity to take care of more than one cat at a time and I spend most of my time home. I try to give my cat as much attention as I can and as she will let me. We have a very strong bond and even without training she listens to some of my basic requests. If I am getting into bed and she's already up there I can ask her to get down for a moment so I can get the covers sorted. She also waits for me to tell her that she can get back on the bed. When getting out of bed she moves towards the pillow getting off the covers so I can get up. If I need her to get on the other side of me she immediately swaps when I ask here to with some light encouragement of my hand being there for a rub. At times I do wish I was able to get one of her brothers or sisters and the sad reality is that I just couldn't. Though I wouldn't trade the bond I have with her for anything. The best part is that I found her as a feral kitten. I picked her up when I found her and sat down with her and she was lying completely flat on my chest with her head fully down too. As anyone who has a cat in their care knows is that means they are completely content and feel safe. To this day I am certain that she chose me. It even ended up that she saved my life. I couldn't imagine my life without her and the thought she more than likely thinks the same keeps me going.
I adopted a senior a couple years ago. He's a solo kitty in my apartment. I didn't realize I'd be diagnosed with stage 4 cancer at the time I adopted him. And though I'm home all the time, I still wish I could adopt another but not knowing how long I'll live, I'm afraid to make that decision.
I pray that you and your wonderful cat are doing well. sometimes God puts the specific very specific in life for very specific reason and you don’t need to explain that
we've become cat parents to rescues, love them so much. They are not independent or aloof, but love petting, lap napping & talk constantly! we bought cat grass seed & germinate it for our sensitive stomach boy. yes, they can get sick when their routine is upset by house guests, ours lost wght & developed an infection of some kind. Still, we ❤them!
Not all cats want another cat in their space, its really important to take notice of your cat's personality instead of a random youtube video, just saying.
Cats are territorial. Male cats may be territorial about sharing space with another male cat. Females with sharing space with another female. Much older cats may be OK with much younger cats and vice versa. But you must test it. Best if you can keep them in different spaces or rooms until they get use to another cat being around.
It depends on your cat. Most owners sell kittens that the mother didn't want cause the mom cat knows when there's something not right about their litters. Like Natural selection. Gotta weed out the useless ones
True. My 10 year old Reggie had a close feline companion, Pearl, for the first 4 years of his life. It was OK for both of them, although Pearl was never a huge fan of Reggie. When Pearl died at age 14 ( so sad ) I thought Reggie needed a new "friend" and after 6 weeks I adopted a needy stray who had been abandoned. January is a neutered male and they got along very nicely for the first 4 years together. But suddenly Reggie decided that he wanted to KILL January, which was very upsetting for both me and January. He attacked January constantly, and I was always breaking them up, until his wrath turned towards ME. He began to bite me on the legs so hard that I ended up in the ER several times. I decided to give Reggie his own room. MY room. I just can't bring myself to let him go or put him down. I keep a barrier between the 2 cats now when Reggie roams around. It's not an ideal situation but both cats have special time with me every day. I miss the days when they got along but those days are over now so we make the best of it. Having my Reggie destroyed or sent to a shelter just is NOT an option. I am careful not to let him charge and bite my legs, that's all. Cats change their minds sometimes so I haven't given up all hope for reconciliation yet. Peace.
Not exactly the same but I remember having my mom take in a little kitten and from the time she was 4 weeks until she was 12 weeks. My sister was the one that adopted her and she named her Koko
My black, fluffy 10 week kitten crawled up my bookcase & sat in my wax melt machine. Her entire bottom was burnt terribly she had two areas of third degree burn & poor little bottom was bright red which looked a lot like a baboon with her black fur.i fely that wax after & it sure wasn't as hot as eyebrow wax. Poor little girl. It took a good 5 months before she had regrown her fur. It was a dreadful time. Beware.
😢 So sorry for your kittie's injuries! Thank you for sharing your story. I have a wax melt machine too. I will unplug it & just no longer use it! I don't want to take a chance on my kitty getting burned!!❤
@@debbiemoore2130 I use the kind that you plug right into the wall rather than a table model. I have 2 adult cats and 2 4 month old kitties and no one messes with it 🙂
At a hotel, my cat found the small pail I set in a corner filled with sand I meant to put in his box. Found him peeing standing up on the edge as it was so small
The open paper bag that was shown in the video can be dangerous to cats if you don't cut the handles off, the loops in the handles can get caught on the cats neck and body causing them to panic and potentially strangle themselves. I know from experience watching my cat play with a bag like that one.
@@Lionesse-z41553 I ordered some food and as I was eating my cat was investigating the bag, usually paper bags are ok if there is no handles on it my cat loves to play with them and hide too.
We have 10 happy and healthy cats that range from 3 years old to 19 years old. I plan on making a cat room with lots of places to climb and nap. Only one of our cats (a siamese) insists on scratching a certain piece of furniture so we installed a new scratching post right in front of that spot she scratches and she just loves it and ignores the furniture now.
I just rescued a kitten from under a car. My resident cat is not too thrilled. What do I do to help them tolerate each other. I keep new kitty in my bedroom and isolated
My Brother has 5 cat's ,bo kids, the Kitties r his babies he's got company they have all the love & more Bless Him & any 1 else who gives them love & care🩷🐈
All of these are super on point! We have 5 kitties and they range from 9 years to 10 months. (We recently lost our beautiful little girl Eclipse to congestive heart failure at 13. The little boy looks so much like her! He chose my daughter, who was Eclipses WORLD, and she named him Tater Tot. Ours is a mixed bag, we have a Manx names Russell and he loves watching TV. We put on Soundscapes when it is storming out to help keep them calm. We have a white Maple Tipped Siamese that is a Hemingway. All were rescues.
I had 2 cats that did got along with each other. They were both indoor and outdoor cats. One did wonder around the neighborhood and the other stayed close to his home.
My two love to annoy each other but i think getting 2 is still the best thing as they do provide stimulation for each other. Just don't let them set up exclusive territories within the house.
@@norwin2791 Males don't go in to heat. Probably unlikely to fight unless there is a female to fight over but they may want separate territories that you should resist.
My cat is really independent and she dont like me to hold her for more that 1-3mins unless she really sleepy. She will sleep near me when she feels like it. If I bring her over to lay with me she will get up and lay somewhere she wants to go. I've learned over the years to let her do her and when she ready to come to me on her own i just be happy she ready to socialize with me on her terms😊
Our kitties favourite toy is a brown paper bag with a pingpong ball inside it, she's literally spent hours entertaining herself (and us humans) jumping in it, whacking it, & superman sliding into it. She has numerous toys but nothing enthralls her like that now battered 25 cent brown bag !!

My cat will NOT get on the furniture- even if i put her on something, she jumps right out. Safe spaces are huge with her and she changes where she sleeps every few days.
My cat don’t get on my furniture either nor does she jump on my tables/counter tops or my bed.. she’s grumpy as heck but very disciplined. I’m not sure what makes her happy 🥹🥹
Thanks for your kind and wise information. It reflects my experiences beginning with a photographic evidence of myself in my cradle when I was an infant
Be aware of leaving plastic bags or any bags around a cat. Saw my kitten with one tied around his neck. Thank goodness I was not far away. Also collars , even break away . When my kitten was 7 months old the collar got stuck in his teeth while it was around his neck. Woke up to a gagging noise and saw this first hand. Luckily he sleeps on my bed and I’m a light sleeper. That was the end of his collar days.
Thanks for this informative video. I would just like to add that I disagree that Aloe is dangerous for cats. I give my cat Aloe as a parasite cleanse. I also used it to help heal a massive injury a stray cat I'd feed, sustained at his jugular. I rubbed the Aloe gel on the wound 2 times a day & within 3 weeks it was all healed. The vet had wanted to put him down as he said his chances of recovering we very small. He's now an 'indoor cat', but my cat (that was once also a stray) is sooooo jealous and tries to attack him when I'm not watching. I'm working on it !!!
Dont imagine that cats always really want a new cat to play with - they do bond well with other cats they are related to or if introduced as kittens but older cats may Never Accept a new cat, my older cat still hisses every time she sees the "new kitten" even 5 years later, she will never like him, play with him, etc and it made her a more grumpy less playful cat in the long term.
@@Bongwater33 that is true. It depends on how they were raised and their dispositions. Red tabbies are usually the friendliest and most mischievous and sweet. I've had 3. All beyond the rainbow bridge, probably playing tag now.
My husband and I have agreed to stick with just one cat. I wish that I could get another, because I think our cat gets lonely or bored when we're not home. We used to have a lot of cats, but now, we are both in a fixed income.
Years ago I had a cat and wanted another but was not “allowed” to so one day I just brought a kitty kat home and handed it straight over to my partner who’s heart melted and so I got my way….new friend for my kitty kat
Pretty comprehensive list! Right now no other hint comes to my mind. I especially liked the hint at indoor cats which should have feline company. Our old cat didn't (from lack of knowledge) and became a true sociopath. Humans are no replacement for a fellow cat.
Many cats are. A shelter should let a prospective adoptor know if the cat likes being around other cats or other animals. Some really don't like sharing their space.
I always prefer to have 2 cats at the same time to keep them from getting too lonely when I'm at work at night. My current 2 are also siblings from the same litter, adopted only a couple days apart.
I have single cat, but when I take him, I know he hate all others cat, it was the condition of shelter, that he must be not only single cat in household, but he must be only animal there, so he has so many toys, puzzles..etc so he is not bored when I´m at work
We had a rat problem basically there were just 2 rats in our house and we bought rat traps the sticky ones but one of the rats kind of just disappeared idk what happened to it but there was another one left so we set a rat trap in the kitchen cuz that’s where we usually saw this rat. And before school my cats were in my room and I opened my door to put my clothes into the laundry basket after switching to my school uniform and opened the door. My cats ran out. We have two cats Simba and Igloo Simba is a male orange and Igloo is a white female. So Simba went under our table and igloo was in the kitchen. I was gonna do something I don’t remember what but I said I would come get them after I was done doing that task. But I just heard the loudest hiss and scream from Igloo so I was running to the kitchen and she ran out just flopping around because she got caught in the rat trap and her back legs were stuck. So I quickly removed it and it stayed sticky for about a month or so. But then it slowly stopped being sticky and now it’s completely fixed. Yes we did try our best to cut most of the rat trap glue off her which also cut her fur a little but now it grew back wonderfully. Also this happened when they were like 4-5 months I think and now they are both 1 year and 2 months.
I adopted sister kittens They are so well adjusted bc they have each other I introduced them to my small slowly after a couple of days They sleep together on my bed when I’m not home.
I feel bad everytime I stop at another family members house my cat belongs to me but my parents look after him when I’m not at home and if I’m gone for a day or three he refuses to eat so I have to call my mom and talk to him. He eats as I talk to him on call 😭❤️
I used to have a cat And You have to be careful With Like anything plastic or rubber cause they would eat it then vomit. But now There are 2 cats looking for a home At my mom's office So I needed some refreshing
Great video with very important knowledge every cat owner should be keen of. When we adopted our cats, we immediately secured the windows so they could be left open without the risk of our furballs jumping or falling out. And it was very important to me to spay them.
My cat has free reign in my, sorry, her house. Electrical cords are safely rolled up and put away, but I don't want her to feel like she's inhibited from enjoying herself. As long as it's not dangerous to her, she can do as she wishes😂❤

One of my housecats passed away last November he was 16 his buddie sweep who is also 16 is now on his own and still grieving 😢.... i'm now 75 ...too old to take on another cat 😢
I recently got my dad's cat. It was actually my stepmom's and she had 2, she passed away recently. My dad doesn't like cats. So, I got Attica and an aunt got the other one, George. Attica didn't like George and avoided him. She likes to be under a bed. I have 2 and she actually prefers the 2nd bedroom over mine. 1 litter box is enough for one cat. Plus, I only have a 2-bedroom house, which is small, and there really isn't a good place to put 1, let alone 2 litter boxes.
Not all cats need or want a companion, it depends on their personalities. I currently have a recent rescue (aged just under 7) and because she is a trauma survivor cat, it will be a while before it is even appropriate to consider a buddy. If in the future, it seemed appropriate, and she was fully confident, I would get one of similar age, similar temperament (no way I would get a kitten or youngster). But, she has the option to spend time at my mother's house (same property), and that is 'hers' as well. I was actually surprised when she coped at my mother's, when I had no choice but to leave her for overnight (and the two days). Currently, she does not have the confidence to share territory with another. It may come in time, it may not. It's about reading your cat.
I have sisters who fight every day. One of them has decided to blame her sister when her food bowl has run low. She spends a lot of time lurking on the floor where we don't spend much time.
I think it is ok to have a single cat, but cats do need more than food (which should be wet and dry food) , water and clean litter boxes.. They need love and attention. Also, toys, cat trees, cat enclosures (catios) and window perches are great
Ooh 5:47 speaking of catnip and plants fwiw weirdly enougj I used give af about peeps stating in middle school it looked was eating cat food ie tuna salad on crackers/or cjicken salad on crackers those boxes of the crackers with a can of the salad stuff but yeah.. huh I just realized, peeps picking on eachother is different in ms vs hs type situations quite different in form etc.. but whatever I mainly am recalling as a young kid back in socal there were parks or a park with a fluffy brown hot dog shape plant called cat tails.. iirc by far tho maybe it was because of my difficult heairng/seeingvas young kid earlier I justm isheard it somehow.. but ueah either cactails or cattails an yeah.. makes me wonder if its because cats like them.
My 3 yr old cat loves being single 1:16 we tried to meet her up with my friends cat at her house but that didn’t go as planned😅 (Basically my cat lunged out of her harness and tried to hurt my friends cat so we are never doing that again all cats are different)
Cats NEVER in my experience over several decades like eachother when they first meet. It usually takes a couple weeks at least before they accept eachother and become cuddle buddies. Some cats never accept another animal. I think my cat who I adopted as a senior actually prefers the companionship of dogs. I babysat one for a couple months and the two got along great - though not quite cuddle buddies.
Well my baby is very grumpy, she don’t like toys, she refuses to climb up to get to her window bed, she don’t like catnip.. it’s just weird for me because I feel like I don’t know how to make her happy. Nice video, Thanks !
I used to have a job that I had to travel to, and I'd be gone like 12 hours a day, but luckily I was part time and it was only half the week overnight. So, I spent a lot of time with my cat on my days off and as much as I could before leaving for work. That was the first 7 years I had her, and then I changed jobs more locally so the time away was like half the time. I also got her a climber that she loved, so that helped, too.
having another cat is mostly for people who work 8-12 hours a day and can't spend most of the day with them, now if you can spend that much time with your cat per day you wouldn't need another one, I also only have one cat but am home constantly so he is loved
@@loverofpixels.0 You're not telling me anything I don't already know. If it were up to me, he would have been fixed. My brother in law brought him home for his daughter without asking his wife or myself. We all live together. They were supposed to get him snipped but never did.
@@devonremy6581 Well, money is a big factor. He's also 11 years old, so I'd rather not subject him to a surgery. He may have a higher risk for testicular cancer, but neutering also puts them at risk for many other types of cancer...like bone cancer, which one of my dogs had that was neutered at 5-6 months old.
Be careful about TV! I was a pet sitter. Some customers went away and left Animal Planet on. But it was Crocodile Week! The cats were subjected to "monster movies" of crocodiles eating small animals (like cats!) I think it's better to leave cartoons on. One of my cats likes to watch "Batman, the Animated Series!" My cats also enjoy limited use of a special "Cat Sitter" video. But quickly get bored, and even annoyed, when they discover they cant interact with the mice & birds on screen.
My cat hates strangers. If I had to leave her for a vacation, she might appreciate the food and litter box cleaning, but she won't interact with anybody but me. But luckily, I'm a home body. Not currently working but when I go out it's for a short time only. I leave food, water, bed, and toys out for her. She has a cat tree and high shelf beds. Tho I live in an apartment and can't put up wooden shelves tho I want to. I would if I lived in a house.

My 4 year old Snickers got pregnant, and unlike Snickers' mom, Missy, who ended up having about 4-5 litters, my mom spayed her right away. She hates my mom and always wants to avoid her now, and I've had the theory that she was actually with the cat who made her pregnanat, and not just r@p3d by them.
Vaccinate as least as possible, yearly vaccinations are not necessary and harmful. If your cat is indoors they will not need monthly flea treatments which are also harmful.
Thank you so much for posting this. I have been dismayed at how many people give advice to vaccinate and use toxic flea powder on a regular basis. All medicines and vaccines are toxic and I even read somewhere that vaccines cause kidney disease and do not give any useful protection. Instead we should concentrate on giving them a good environment, plenty of stimulation and nutritious food. I also heard from a friend who got a kitten, that each time they were vaccinated, the vet would keep them back for half an hour in case of any dangerous reaction and even after getting back home, the cat would not want to move for at least a day. What kind of pain or suffering must the poor animal be going though and they can’t even tell us. This of course also extends to humans - just look at the worldwide disaster that has been unfolding over the last 3-4 years as people line up to take their shots in the belief they are doing the right thing when the opposite is true.
The manufacturers guidance says that you should do a risk assessment of need, rather than automatic use. The vaccinations can damage liver and kidney and there is something called ISS ( Injection Site Sarcoma) that can spark cancer. Best vet guidance says that injections should be in the tail not the neck scruff as cancer is easier to deal with there. (Its not actually the vaccine, its the Aluminium traces in stuff they dilute it with). Guidance on flea treatment and flea collars comes with quite severe warnings for the human if the cat sleeps on the bed or gets stroked too much. If secondary contact for the human is so bad, what is it doing to your cat? My own advice is to get vaccines done once for basic resistance and if they don't catch anything before they expire you must be in a safe area, discuss prevalence with a vet and consider how often your cat meets others and fights with them or eats prey that might carry something or whether you will ever need to put your cats in a cattery for holidays etc. I've never heard of anyone in my area having a problem with these diseases in their cats, so i also take that into account. Don't treat cat for fleas unless you see them, check very regularly ( easy with a white cat) and consider if cleaning and flea deterrents ( like catnip) would work. Keep garden clear of piles of dead leaves and rubbish where fleas might lie in wait for your cat to rest. Worming is something else- keep careful scrutiny when clearing fresh stools from the litter tray. If you are in an area where heart worm is a danger talk it through with the vet.
My cat hasn't been to a vet since I adopted her at 3 months old. She's 11 year old and has been healthy ever since. She likes being on my enclosed front porch in the summer and she has picked up fleas somehow. Maybe from strays. So I do have to give her a couple doses in summer & early fall, then she's OK rest of year.
@@pinkfreud62Thanks for sharing this. It’s good to know I’m not the only one here who thinks this way. My cat came to us in a very sick and poorly state having been kept in a tiny apartment with 5 other cats who all became sick around the same time. At least 2 of them died, despite numerous visits to the vet and various scans and blood tests. The owners had almost given up when they asked us if we could take her in. When she arrived she was barely able to walk or stand and certainly couldn’t jump onto or off the sofa. I changed her diet and gave her better quality food (although still out of a tin) and we read that the problem might be due to vitamin B1 definiciency. For this we gave her half a boiled egg each day for lunch. She would eat it hungrily and within just a couple of days her walking improved and in around a week, she was running, jumping and even climbing. I couldn’t bear to part with her and begged the owners to let me keep her. Now she is 4 and a half years old and has not been sick at all since her recovery 18 months ago. She has not been anywhere near vets or had any kind of medicine. Not even had her ears cleaned or had a bath. All I do is show her love and brush her fur which is also a good way to inspect her skin and fur to make sure no bumps or bites etc. I also don’t clip her nails and she has a couple of areas where she scratches and the claws seem to just break off neatly when they reach a certain length. She also had watery eyes when she arrived and I was told by other cat owners that was normal. However that also cleared away and has not returned so it really makes me wonder how many cats out there are mildly sick and the owners are not aware.
@@daveshongkongchinachannel Glad to hear your kitty is doing great after a rough start. I don't do anything to my cat either, except brush & comb her which she loves. My poor Spike. I got him when I was seven and he would be reaching his 13th year if Kidney failure was not taking a toll on him. Or, at least that's what I believe it is. We don't have money for a vet and my anger and guilt for his old age is affecting my relationship with him. He was acting completely normal but became more active than usual, and was obsessed with water and avoiding his own food to each others's. Just this week, he has been lacking energy, and crying alot and when he paces, he yowls and comes to me. That old video about signs of dying, he showed all of them. I was hoping he'd get better, but hasn't. Or, I mean, he has been normal before suddenly is acting as if he can't even stand. I pushed him away because I was mad at the situation. I never noticed the signs. I think today might be his last day. Please help me God this is my first cat I am not ready for him to meet you🙏🏻❤
My son is a one year old infant in my heart and sometimes I have to leave him alone for a day for many hours. I’ve tried to bring in a small three old baby cat girl for company he just wanted to fit it. Than I tried with an older female he did the same. Should I still trying to make him have a sibling?
❤ Beautiful thinking
I can tell you love your precious senior boy very much ❤️ Please continue to be patient with him and move his litter box close by where he likes to hang out. And don’t send him to the Rainbow Bridge until he is clearly suffering. You both have earned this precious extra time together 🤗❤️. Thinking of you!
You have an alpha cat. They don't cover their poop or pee ever.
@MsThebeMoon I hope you live a long, long time. I pray you will and when you pass over, that you are at peace. God bless you and kitty too.
I pray that you and your wonderful cat are doing well. sometimes God puts the specific very specific in life for very specific reason and you don’t need to explain that
My senior cat hates the outdoors and other cats. I love her to pieces and her vet is consistently impressed with how healthy she is at 19 years old.
I always took my cat with me when I traveled
He loved sitting in the sun on the dashboard 😺
we've become cat parents to rescues, love them so much. They are not independent or aloof, but love petting, lap napping & talk constantly! we bought cat grass seed & germinate it for our sensitive stomach boy. yes, they can get sick when their routine is upset by house guests, ours lost wght & developed an infection of some kind. Still, we ❤them!
My Vet says their nervous system is their bladder, and can develop crystals.
thats sweet...
Not all cats want another cat in their space, its really important to take notice of your cat's personality instead of a random youtube video, just saying.
Mine hates other cats.
Cats are territorial. Male cats may be territorial about sharing space with another male cat. Females with sharing space with another female. Much older cats may be OK with much younger cats and vice versa. But you must test it. Best if you can keep them in different spaces or rooms until they get use to another cat being around.
These are random, very general videos.
Peace.
I am slowly integrating a new cat to mine. 😻😻 Once the new cat is comfy around my rambunctious one, I plan on adopting it.

Not exactly the same but I remember having my mom take in a little kitten and from the time she was 4 weeks until she was 12 weeks. My sister was the one that adopted her and she named her Koko
My black, fluffy 10 week kitten crawled up my bookcase & sat in my wax melt machine. The open paper bag that was shown in the video can be dangerous to cats if you don't cut the handles off, the loops in the handles can get caught on the cats neck and body causing them to panic and potentially strangle themselves. I know from experience watching my cat play with a bag like that one.
Definitely. I try and keep plastic bags away from my pets, and I cut the handles off of paper bags.
@@Lionesse-z41553 I ordered some food and as I was eating my cat was investigating the bag, usually paper bags are ok if there is no handles on it my cat loves to play with them and hide too.
@@DeltaCDN Mine attacks rugs and blankets! I'd she's attacking something I don't want her to, I redirect her with her kicker or her tennis ball.
Somehow they always try to get out of a bag through the handle, which causes an endless panic as they run and the noise of the bag goes with them.
Sounds very scary and thanks for the heads up. Whew
We have 10 happy and healthy cats that range from 3 years old to 19 years old. I plan on making a cat room with lots of places to climb and nap.
Are they both males?..i have 2 males that is not neutered they're about 4 months old and I'm worrying that they might fight when they're in heat

Pretty comprehensive list! Right now no other hint comes to my mind. I especially liked the hint at indoor cats which should have feline company. Our old cat didn't (from lack of knowledge) and became a true sociopath. Humans are no replacement for a fellow cat.

I adopted my cat with the understanding that she would be a solitary cat.
Many cats are. A shelter should let a prospective adoptor know if the cat likes being around other cats or other animals. Some really don't like sharing their space.
Very good instructive vid for new or prospective cat parents.

I got 2 cats and 2 birds, quite a good squad to keep them happy

Great video with very important knowledge every cat owner should be keen of. When we adopted our cats, we immediately secured the windows so they could be left open without the risk of our furballs jumping or falling out. And it was very important to me to spay them.

I disagree 110% with no spay or neutering. There are so many animals in shelters or homeless. Spay and neuter!!
I love the cats they are the best I love them so much I'm trying to not see my last I love this
Not all cats need or want a companion, it depends on their personalities.

Cats NEVER in my experience over several decades like eachother when they first meet. It usually takes a couple weeks at least before they accept eachother and become cuddle buddies. Some cats never accept another animal. I think my cat who I adopted as a senior actually prefers the companionship of dogs. I babysat one for a couple months and the two got along great - though not quite cuddle buddies.

that's fine, no worries.

My cat Fell off The 2nd floor of a flat so i’d say about 15 metres up and he got lost, somehow when we found him about 3 days later and he hadn’t damaged anything but he did have a hole out of his nose so he must have got in a fight
My cat makes a lot of noise at night. Really loud miau.
I just lost my cat to a predator , I left her outside since the weather was so hot & now she’s gone forever . PLEASE. Don’t make the same mistake 😢
Helped look after a neighbours cat, our cat hated her, she enjoyed single life so i guess shes different
@4:40 "diseases" was misspelled...
I was the 1k like!!!
My cat who is 3 years old, loves humans but absolutely hates other cats.
She likes using a flat scratch pad and it helps keep her claws in good shape & to shed the old ones. She's a calico tabby and such a sweet girl.
You had me untiI the poison shots. I've researched the subject in depth for decades. Stop the shots
You don't know my cat...he has proven to be a loner...
Please help me God this is my first cat I am not ready for him to meet you🙏🏻❤
dont get two cats, its double trouble if you are not ready
i am going on a trip with my family and i am taking my cat with me
My son is a one year old infant in my heart and sometimes I have to leave him alone for a day for many hours. I’ve tried to bring in a small three old baby cat girl for company he just wanted to fit it. Than I tried with an older female he did the same. Should I still trying to make him have a sibling?
Also if you spay and neuter they have a lower risk for reproductive cancers and other illnesses.
