Greetings and congratulations from Venezuela, they finally created a channel on UA-cam. I will be attentive to their publications, they are a source of inspiration for me and I see they all use magnificent Buescher saxophones
Curieux de savoir si l'emploi de saxophones anciens (Buescher) fait partie de leur image ou bien ce sont leurs instruments de prédilection. Bravo pour cette très belle pièce!
The connection to the Buescher saxophones, and more importantly to the large chamber mouthpieces with their curved tonewalls goes back to the founder of the Quartet, Sigurd Raschèr. It is very much a part of our tradition. Best wishes to you from the RSQ
Obviously the quality of playing one would expect from this esteemed ensemble. The video is very well produced, but I'm not a fan of the MTV-style editing, with jump cuts every couple of seconds. Why does it need to be so frenetic? I find such distracting visuals make it harder to enjoy and appreciate the piece and the performance. What does the fluttertonguing stand in for from the original version? Tremolando?
Well that was whack. Way to play slap bari. And slide alto. And distorted soprano thru a fan. You should be nicer to your horns and maybe they’d be nicer to you. Completely awesome!!!!!!!!
Fantastic...as usual!!
