Filipino martial arts here as I observe is more practical in contrast with flashy movements. One who taught me Esgrima said to me "Fight like a stray dog!, focus to disable your enemy's ability to fight."

It makes me happy to see that the Filipino Marines are sharing their combat skills with their American brothers. I feel that the MARSOC program is beneficial to both Corps. Filipinos can share their cqc skills with the Americans and the USMC can share their awesome firearms skills with the Filipinos.

those who wonder why this training is necessary? you become more a complete soldier if you know how to fight with your gun, your knife, your fist....

probably in patrol. Urban areas. But in phil. u encounter some crazy shit! People who believes being bullet proof with charm and latin chants. Some buried gems inside their body to protect them. But anyway, they fight at night and create rat hole in dense jungle. They fight when least expected and in close quarter. Not the charms that protect them but the way they fight. People actually believe in this shit. But now is useless coz phil. army are good with machete and chants too..

Pekiti-Tirsia Kali. The most deadly martial art alongside Silat, Krav Maga, CQD, SOC-P, U.S. Marine Corps martial arts, and Ninjitsu in my opinion.

The hand to hand combat is a practical ways of defending yourself. Why would you argue that hand to hand combat must have a gun everytime. The reality is we cannot have a perfect timing if you need a gun. Hand to hand combat is the only way to stick up to the reality that we cannot have a gun all the time in our fingers. Also, the Philippine government must advocate that our public and private schools must have a physical education of Filipino Martial Arts, or Kali. Im proud to Jason Bourne too!

its very hard to explain to people who doesnt have any respect to other people. why are we still studying hand to hand combat nowadays if we keep on thinking that we can use a gun always.

yeah, but look through history, the korean war, we had no tanks no planes and no navy! only 1400 troops in korea, on our right was the british with 6000 troops on our left was the turks with 4700 troops, we held the hill with only 1400 troops, the chinese attack with 40000 troops, the brits and turks retreated, we stayed, outnumbered 1-40 3 days of fighting we lost 26 men chinese lost 7000, after then the americans came to reinforce us
