    Thanks Lawrence we only use the whisk once a day for 3days after adding the 10% seeded honey that we used a pestle & mortar on originally. On the 4th day we jar it before placing the jarred soft set down the shed in cool temp for a week or 2 to set.

    Thanks for your information. I like the way you explained everything.
    I have been a Beekeeper in South Africa now for going on 3 years. Started with 5 hives and now I have 30 hives. But I want to keep growing to the point that I can manage maybe 100-150 hives.
    Not many people know about Cream Honey and want to start doing some to seeing what my response is like with my customers.
    I really need to have a drill bit like yours. Do you know where I could get one in South Africa? Take care

    So you do not have to seed the honey anymore. How would this work with non OSR honey please. Great vid

    • @BlackMountainHoney
      @BlackMountainHoney  2 роки тому

      With OSR you dont need to seed. With normal honey you will still need to add 10% seed and it will take a lot longer. OSR once soft set works really well as seed

    Thanks for the video Lawarce. Just made another batch today in a 20 L pail. Last summer I used a metal paint stirring rod (used for mixing paint) and I noticed small pieces of plastic that floated to the top. I had filed down the edges but it was still chewing away the plastic of the pail. I found a plastic bit by Werner on Amazon that looks like a squirrel cage fan on end. It mixes faster with less effort and less pull on the drill. By running it slow I don't get the foam or bubbles on top. I make flavored soft set honey and it outsells runny honey 3 to 1.

    After trying the Soft set honeys you sent and all things looking good to get my own honey this year it would be good to try producing my own. As I don't see getting to your level to need the creamer you now use.
