  • “Creamed honey” sounds like it might have cream or butter mixed in, but it’s really 100% honey. In Europe, this off-white, spreadable honey is extremely popular. It’s something you can make at home to add variety to your honey stand and money to your wallet.
Follow along as we show how you can make your own creamed honey, with a focus on using the Lyson 50L unheated creamer to make it an easier process for you. We also discuss making it with other tools as well!

I was able to get some while we were in Switzerland last year from a gold medal winner absolutely amazing and so smooth. I would encourage all beekeepers and honey consumers to try this it’s that simple and good .

When you put into your jars and store at 57 degrees do you leave the tops off for that week?

Thanks for the info. Mine is dark, large chrystals. It tastes great. But now I know what my goal is.

Find some dry honey crystals. Grind away until it is a powder. Use that to make your starter seed.

thank you for your video! how many days should the machine be run to make light colored creamed honey? would 100 hours, approximately 4~5 continuous days, be sufficient?

Hi there! We found that 72 hours was fine but 100 hours would also be fine. Rest periods to let the motor cool are very important. Also, running continuously risks raising the temperature of the honey. So, if you go the 100-hour route, be sure to factor in rest periods!

better bee, if you can not find cream honey to add to the process how do you achieve the end results of cream honey?

Hi Carl! We sell creamed honey that you can use as a starter: www.betterbee.com/creamed-honey/ch1-16-oz-creamed-honey.asp
Or you can grind up your own crystallized honey with a mortar and pestle until the consistency is smooth, and use that as your starter. Good luck!

@@betterbee1979 grinding until a smooth texture will take time and friction. With this consideration will temperature control need to bee used; ie. 50° 60° or room temperature 70°ish?
