  • Hi guys, here’s a little overview of the issues I’ve had with my 2003 c5z over 5 years of ownership. My car was a cheap and likely abused example. Your mileage may vary. Thanks for watching.

Quick correction. I said that the transmission is behind the engine. That’s wrong the order from front to back goes- engine, clutch, torque tube, transmission, then differential. Sorry about that.

I am gutted we never got these in the UK, the Z06 is one of my all time dream cars, you just can't beat a good V8, and with those looks too.
    Great videos!

Hey thanks! It’s the perfect sports car recipe. Luckily you did get the standard c5. A couple engine and suspensions mods would put you right at or above the z06 performance. Only thing you wouldn’t have would be the fixed roof coupe body.

I resoldered my abs Module it's pretty easy...did it myself.. and did my hvac..like yours that shit out..just resolder.then replaced the gear in my hud.

Next time it goes out I’ll definitely be breaking out the soldering iron.

10k is a steal regardless. Can't touch a z06 for less than 20k in most areas now.

Do you think many of these issues you had were from the car being lowered? Also not sure how many miles you have on it but I guess that can contribute to the issues as well

It has just over 100k miles and is 20 years old so many of the issues aren't completely unheard of at this point. I don't see how the lowering would directly affect it on its own. I do however believe it shows a pattern of abuse. That's likely what lead to the failure of the transmission gear and the rear end.
