I'm going through the pre departure process for a position in the BBB. Your videos have been so helpful to understand more about DCL crew life! Question: are the different dishes labelled with allergens? I'm not picky but can't have dairy which can be difficult sometimes
I think there are labels above the food but I couldn't say off the top of my head if they mention they include dairy. You can always ask as you go along the line, the crew working behind the counter will find out for you from the cook.
I don't think the crew mess has changed that much, maybe a lick of paint here or there. Its proabaly still the same crew food menu for the last 20 years :)

Is it possible for you to talk about the crew shop soon and what can be available in there like is there snacks, soap and toothbrushes etc. Also, do you have to pay tax to both the USA and UK if you are a youth activities Counselor? Hello, you are nearly there then getting through the long process to embark. How was your medical? I hope it all went well. Absolutely I can do a video on the crew shop. With being from the UK you won't pay tax in the US due to a tax treaty that exempts you, so when you get paid you will get the full amount on your contract. Now it might be wise to speak to an independent financial advisor for yourself, just so you can get accurate tax advice as I am not a tax expert and I don't want to misinform on this. There are maritime exemptions in the UK for people who work at sea but you may want to pay NI for the state pension and other UK benefits. My advice is seek an accountant to ask. Disney will also not give you tax advice so if you ask HR they won't give any concrete answer either. I hope that kind of helps :)
Hi Ash, quick question. I’m starting work for Disney cruise line on august 23rd. I was wondering if you ever applied for seafarers deduction? Or whether or not you need to do this or will I have to pay my own take when I return to the uk. I’ve tried speaking to hmrc but they are f***ing useless! Any help would be much appreciated. Love the videos by the way!
How long have you been waiting for the offering letter? mine take's so long it's been 4months since i completed all documents in my DOC and still no update 😢

I wonder how much the crew food area has changed. Its hard to find photos and most of the photos are of the Dream in the first years it sailed.

Yes there is a crew carpark at Disneys terminal in Port Canaveral for crew.
