This is what I'm worried about. He specified that the high mileage Mobil 1 oil had the zinc while the other ones didn't. BUT, back in 2011 when the video was shot, the Mobil 1 high mileage was still API SL spec. I know because I used to use it in my daily driver. But NOW they changed the spec to the modern API SN which leads me to believe it doesn't have the high zinc concentration anymore. I'd advise anyone that wants to use Mobil 1 for this purpose to get an updated zinc content number from the company, or do what Nitrokid did and find another oil with high zinc like Brad Penn or Valvoline VR1
Right after you take out the drain plug then you should pull out the rubber plug that way it’ll let some air in there and it will drain a lot faster and be sure to get all the fluid out of it
Wow! Damm it wish I still had my srt4, this is great info for what to use on ur srt4 awesome bro. Hey bro let us know how the new oil in the transmission works out for ur srt4 or make a viedo of it
Did you change the filter also? I have a 2003 Dodge neon RT and I'm getting transmission fluid coming from somewhere and it's a 5spd not sure if it's coming from the fill plug or the axle seal... What are signs of a clogged transmission filter? Yesterday I started it and haven't drove it in a week When I revved it up I heard some rattling coming from the driver side near the transmission do you think it might be low on transmission fluid since it has a leak
Dysn 316 My gf had a regular caliber. She loved the space inside but hated how gutless it was (2.0L CVT trans) she had someone cut her off and write that car off (not her fault and she didn't get hurt) Anyways! Because she liked the space so much I suggested she buy a Caliber srt 4. I taught her how to drive standard on the car (clutch is still good to go 👍) and she honestly couldn't be happier with it. They are great daily drivers!
I daily one to work and back every day witch is an hour each way and go on trips in it their fine as long as you maintain them from my experience the only problems I’ve had is boost leaks lol
Clint .R mainly from the stock vacuum lines where they go into the solenoids I had one that wouldn’t ever sit in there right and always developed a slow leak then had a really good one the other day coming from the intake manifold but if you get one of the leak Testers that you can hook on to the turbo their pretty easy to find.
Hey man can yoou add to the description what the name of that stuff was again.....didn't see it in there, Great Vid by the way...just got an 04 and plan on doing stuff like this to keep her running
Ed Peters. Not Peterson. The Mobil 1 doesn't have the high Zinc content anymore. You didn't get all the ATF+4 out. I would change the fluid out again after a couple hundred of miles since there is still ATF+4 in there. Don't want to mix those 2. There is also debate about switching to the engine oil. And yes I watched Ed Peters entire talk.
There is a machine you can hook it up to that sucks a lot out. But I would change the fluid it. Drive for 20-100 miles or whatever. And drain again and replace fluid. Might be a bit pricey but you get all the old stuff out.
Hey nitrokid do you still run the brad penn motor oil in your tranny and hows it holding up. i have a 493whp srt4 and i was thinking about trying it but nervous and yes i did see the ed peters tech talk. please respond bud
NITROKID98 im in a pickle im nervous about it bc every tech around me says im crazy to do it but ed peters is a reasonable source and obviously trustworthy and a mechanic told me he’s just trying to sell the product bc he works for the company. How long have you ran it and how much hp you pushing. I just discovered your channel and i will most certainly be subscribing just wish i could give your videos more than 1like each. Do you live anywhere close to florida bc it seems like our cars a rare to find these days or anybody really that knows anything about them👍🏼🤙🏼
@@4drturbo85 I ran it and didnt last long as I expected, sure its great at first but I changed from that back to ATF+4 and now 0w-40, and its shifting better than it ever has , highly reccomend
The 3rd gear issue is usually a cause of people with hulk arms shifting and also people who uses WOT shift boxes.

Thanks
Do it
hello Peterson I like your videos and they help me a lot because I have a 2005 srt4 thanks for your videos
Right after you take out the drain plug then you should pull out the rubber plug that way it’ll let some air in there and it will drain a lot faster and be sure to get all the fluid out of it
How long have you had this oil in the trans now? Are you still running it? How does the trans shift? Any noticeable difference from ATF+4?
Great video man thanks for sharing your information
Bad Disturb Thanks
NITROKID98 you're welcome
This video confirmed something for me, thank you. My fill cap popped out somehow and I can't find another one anywhere :(

Waiting to pick one up and rebuild it and use Mobil 10-40 with new synchros and run some big boost
Cannot wait to see your Booger bushing.Have you thought about changing the underpully.
Not a good idea to do that on a SRT-4. Its a waste of money.
great video
Everyone knows mobil1 0w-40 euro is the only thing that belongs on the SRT-4 trans

Would buying a srt4 as a daily be a good idea?I would keep the motor 100% stock.
Yea I know a few people who daily them and wouldn't have it any other way.

Hey mind me asking where you had leaks from? Just so I know for future in case my gf's car has similar issues

What motor oil do you use?

4drturbo85 yea that was my plan to do a complete flush and thanks
NITROKID98 how do you do a complete flush?

Hi, what’s the easiest way to remove the fuel rail from the 420a? I took off the valve cover and can’t reach the 2 13mm bolts at all... :/
Sadly the easiest way is by taking the intake manifold off

Just run royal purple synchromax. that is what I run in my srt-4.

where did you get that front bumper from?
Came on the car that way
How many bottles did you put in?
2 -1/2
You fill it until it starts to seap back out the fill hole. Its anywhere from 2.5-2.75 qt
What's the best oil to run a srt4 motor
Kobekka I say brad penn but I run it everything except I dodge 2500 this stuff has never let me down and it won't let.you done either.
I have used Mobil 1 extended performance on all my srt's since 05. No issues and I run the cars lean.
So you put 3 quarts ?
Yes you will be fine with 3 quarts.
@@NITROKID98 perfect, thanks man.
