I saw Bertie Higgins back around this time. He was opening for Hank Jr, if I'm not mistaken. I actually had his autograph, but I have no idea whatever happened to it. That was at the Dothan Civic Center in southeast pit of life, I mean Alabama.
I always thought Jennifer was in love with Mike Bauer. I kinda remember now that Mark was also leading Amanda on.. And I do remember crazy Carrie and what she put Ross JUstin and Jackie through. She admitted to killing Diane whom i despised but she got out of it somehow.
These were the days then in like three years almost everyone on GL was gone and Reva and the Lewis clan came in along with Kyle, Sally, Maeve. Alexandra took over for Alan along with India, Fletcher and Claire. A few Bauer were still around and Philip was on and off. However it as like a clean sweep except lovelies like Henry and Vanessa. It was like an entire new cast and the Sonni and her lover Will came on the show and Roger and Holly returned. Then things went to shit after1989/1990. Oh and good old Ross stuck around .
Awesome and accurate comment. I agree with it all except for the last part (things turning to crap after 1989/1990). I loved the days of GL when the show was headwritten by either Bridget & Jerome Dobson and especially when Douglas Marland was writing the show. But the crappiest years in my opinion were between 1984-1990. Like you said, they did a clean sweep and got rid of so many beloved, entrenched characters (thanks to executive producer Gail Kobe) and brought in all those characters you mentioned. To me, it became "The Reva Show". I like Kim Zimmer, but didn't appreciate seeing Reva 24/7, so those 5 years Kim was off the show (1990-1995) it started to become more enjoyable, especially once they brought Holly & Roger back and phased out some of the characters that sucked-up the scenery yet failed to catch on with viewers (the insipid Samantha Marler comes to mind). It was also a treat once they recast Dinah with Wendy Moniz. But the last few years of GL were just awful (especially 2007-2009) under Ellen Wheeler's regime.
I guess I am in the minority, but I liked Amanda's dress - a pretty "throw-back," I thought. I really didn't see a lot of "Scarlett O'Hara" with that dress - I suppose if Amanda had traipsed in with a hoop-shirt, it may have been different.

Amanda's Scarlet O'Hara dress is ridiculous.
The dress did seemed out of place.
