Hi, thank you for your interesting videos, they're helping me a lot trying to restore my '82 Fiat Spidereuropa. There's something I don't understand in this video... what's the point in removing the paint trying to have a better ground if the stud of the bolt is already in contact with the metal of the body of the car?Cleaning the contacts it's useful, but removing the paint will create corrosion very soon...can you explain me please? Thanks!

There was a small bite washer in there to make contact past the paint. I removed the washer, cleaned it bare and treated it with dielectric grease. I put a stainless nut up against the body for more contact area. Then installed the fitting and installed.

      Remember it's always the grounds

Great video! What is the washer and nut size, and what is the gold part called that connects to the grounds? Did you also need to disconnect the battery? Thanks!

The nut is 6mm x1.0, 6mm washer. same size as the rest of the nuts on the car. The washer next to the paint is a "star washer" for biting into the metal thru the paint. The part with all the ground connectors is a "GROUNDING POD, FIAT, ALFA & LANCIA - (SKU 19-5300)
      $17.99"
You should disconnect the battery to be safe. The car I am working does not have a battery installed yet.

but you could do it any number of ways.
Put some Dielectric grease on there to prevent corrosion

Where is this located? Is this the ground in the trunk to the taillights

In the engine bay, on the inner fenders, near the headlight wiring. There is also one under the dash near the steering wheel.

Ever thought of adding dielectric grease to stop the from corroding again. Maybe stop body from rustling where paint was removed?
