I'm guessing that Budweiser is hoping to import lots of beer into Saudi Arabia. If we can land a man on the moon, I guess maybe Budweiser is hopeful that Islam will relax its injunction against alchohol. Alcohol is an Arabic word, so maybe that will be part of Bud's marketing plan. Saudis don't even have to drink the beer. You can barbecue a chicken with an open beer can inside it. The alcohol evaporates, and gives the chicken a great flavour.

Interesting to watch this episode in hindsight. Especially regarding the bin Salman junior. He'll have to balance between keeping the royal elite satisfied and implementing political, cultural and economic reforms. Turns out that just as everything else in this medieval absolute monarchy, this succession situation did not follow the contemporary political rules. Instead of keeping the rest of the royals satisfied, he used a supposed anti corruption action as a ruse to literally purge the kingdom from all competitors, with some of them disappeared and the rest imprisoned until they transferred all or most of their possessions and claims to the state i.e. him. Same brutality has been shown to all dissenters, with horrific war crimes being committed in Yemen as I write this. The West needs to completely disentangle itself from the dependency on this regime's oil and isolate Saudi Arabia to the point that no other country ever has been isolated. Unfortunately it's hard to see the US giving up on their partner in crime. Perhaps this will require Europe joining up with Russia and China in combating this evil.

That is speculation. What we know today is that colonialism has indeed been the primary factor for the instability of the Global South
@ScarletDespair did you forget that french have still not leave its african colonies yet?
@@ReXox35 The "economic might of the USA (and Canada at the time)" following WWII help save Europe? I understand your sentiment but I don't follow your explanation. Europe still had wealth following WWII despite their dire shape. It's true that much of Europe's wealth historically came from colonial subjects, but nonetheless, Europe very much had wealth far exceeding today's "third world countries". If we're going to mention Canada and the USA, it seems arbitrary to not also mention Australia, New Zealand and others. Moreover, why say Canada "at the time"? Are you saying that Canada subsequently ceased to help Europe's economy, or that Canada had some special sauce but only at the time?
Very interesting analysis again! Keep it up

Another 'tour de force' [pardon the pun] that does a great job of indicating the problem areas, while highlighting the causes and potential problems. If you were a Hollywood company I would suspect the numerous hints of things yet unseen as bases for a large number of prequels and sequels to come. From Occupied North Yemen [a.k.a. the Assir], to the Eastern Province, to other flash points you have given a sound basis to understand the situation of Al Memleket Al Arabiya Al Saudia. However, people who want a truly in depth understanding must follow up your survey with deep research into the history, geography, religious tension and regional politics. Well conceived and well presented report (as usual). Several topics discussed were things I sort of knew intellectually, but hadn't coalesced into coherence in my mind, such as the chokepoints, military stockpile dispersal (and lack of skilled, disciplined operators).
This comments section is unusually dumb. I guess that's what happens when you get people feeling emotional.
just poring through comments in general, there are several nations that bring out the blind idiocy in people: United States, Israel, Saudi Arabia, China and oddly...Japan. As for this vid, not a good look by fellow Caspian Report viewers. I expect more from this bunch. These are VERY niche subjects, and we're watching them for a reason.

The Al-Sauds are exceptionally lucky.
Sitting on vast reserves of oil.
Not necessarily, although they have oil, but we shouldn't forget they have no rivers, only 2% of land is naturally caultivable and only 1/3 is inhabitable. So they are not so lucky, only they have different resources.
The first time the oil was extracted was in 1938, before that our grandparents lived in hell, no water no AC no cars no houses, they died of hunger and thirst. no one helped them not even thier “neighboring countries”, Everyone mocked us and laughed at our religion, camels, tents and dates but they didn’t know that these 4 factors what helped us to survive and thrive, now we have oil and everyone wants to be our friend, we are not lucky we are believers whom believed in god and he rewarded us and we will be thankful for him our whole life.

@oh_man 15 the word "Arabs" have all Semitic people native to the Middle east
all speak Arabic language today
Babel and Ammorites and Akkad all carry mainly J1-M267 Y-DNA which is also the most dominant Haplogroup among Arabians
Persians were NEVER known to be sailors and only came to the Middle East in recent history
while Arabs were known to be great sailors that used it to trade with China and India and South East Asia
not to forget Africa and Europe as well
and later used that to spread the word of Islam .. and to ensure dominance over the seas under the Caliphate
Persians had 0 civilization before the came to the M.E and took everything from the native Semites
while in the Arabian Peninsula , the Kingdom of Dilmun stands as one of the earliest civilizations of mankind in Eastern Arabia since 4000 B.C
Great vid. You make understanding regions so much better. Kinda convenient that this vid comes out on day when USA became the worlds largest oil producer surpassing...Saudi Arabia. Reported on CNN, Wall Street Journal etc.
"Ta'if is much cooler than other parts of the country"
Other parts of the country:
I have some comments
1- wahabi is a part of sunni and they are not villains
2- the sunni shia map is not accurate especially in the south west region, plus the percentage of shia un like the video says is no more than 10%
3- GKSA have a good grip on the people and have their support
4- it’s true that we were in a bad position with Iran but now they are barely controlling themselves
Despite the fact that you introduced many wrong info in this video, but what grabbed my attention the most is when you said in 4:39 that Shia minority treated like second class citizens. If this is true, then how come the CEO “Amin H. Nasser” of the biggest oil company in the world came from Shia faith? On top of that, 4 out of 29 members of the highest council in Saudi Arabia “Council of Ministries” from the Shia faith. Some UA-cam channels like this one, unfortunately, take their info mostly from biased websites or articles without digging more to look for the facts.
good job for giving facts :)

Last month, Canada encouraged Saudi Arabia to free some imprisoned advocates (women's driving rights among others). In response, Saudi Arabia cut ties with Canada, tweeted an image of a plane headed towards the CN Tower and ranted madness for days. Great report, Shirvan. It's also good to see that UA-cam is showing advertisements on your channel. Today it was the same Budweiser Beer commercial 5 times. The alcohol evaporates, and gives the chicken a great flavour.

i guess you haven’t been updated lately, our economy skyrocketed away from oil profits, not to mention every country has been begging us to put aramco’s shares in their stock markets which we will use to fund the mega projects, which in return makes us oil independent.
"which in return makes us oil independent."

Appalled ByFurries
Well, i’m not gonna lie about Aramco being obscure, but still, Trump, Putin, Theresa May and Shinzo Abe all of them want Aramco in their stock markets so desperately. And Aramco isn’t all about oil, they have invented a lot of amazing stuff truth be told.
Awesome info
The result of this video... Middle East will never be stable if the arabic nations was not able to unify 😢
we don't want to unite in first place
