Wings unfairly gets overshadowed in between The Beatles and Mccartney's solo career. Some of my favorite Mccartney songs came during Wings. "Band On The Run", "Live and Let Die", "Mrs Vanderbilt", "Jet", "Silly Love Songs" "Uncle Albert" etc all some of Paul's best songs. Also loved Medicine Jar from Jimmy as well. It was probably Pauls happiest era with Linda on keyboards and you can hear that in his music
They released a single in 1978 as a follow up to “Mull of Kintyre” called “Girls School” which just a bit on the lame side. The album “London Town” (also came out in 1978) was originally to be called “Water Wings” or at least that’s how the rumour went at the time. Despite having two singles (Good Nite Tonight and Arrow Through Me)off from their last album “Back to the Egg” was a commercial flop in 1979.
"Girls School" was not a "followup" to "Mull of Kintyre". It was the B-side of the same single. And "Goodnight Tonight" was not on "Back to the Egg", it was a standalone single.
Wings were the 4th highest selling group in the world in the 70s ......and hey get a new announcer who pronounces things correctly correctly ......Wings were superb as is macca
I'm a MAJOR WINGS FAN! Too bad live McCartney went BEATLE HEAVY and never performed enough of his WINGS/SOLO material. It's the one BLEMISH on his POST WINGS live-performing legacy!
@@ruedas7378 Did you get the WINGS OVER EUROPE LIVE ALBUM that came with the WILDLIFE DELUXE BOXSET? I have it and it's a great documentation of EARLY WINGS, some really rocking songs! Now I want McCartney to release a live album of WINGS LAST TOUR. I have LAST FLIGHT but I want an OFFICIAL RELEASE.
@@ruedas7378 My favorite lineup is Paul, Linda, Denny, Jimmy, and Joe with the horn section! Next would be Wing's last lineup, wish they had recorded more original material. BACK TO THE EGG was their only album. What is your favorite solo McCartney album? For me it's MEMORY ALMOST FULL with FLAMING PIE a close second.
@@ruedas7378 Yes I've seen One Hand Clapping many times. I like all those albums as well with RAM being a very good one. I forgot to ask do you have the ROCKSHOW BLU-RAY? How do you feel about McCartney's WINGS/SOLO music not getting the REAL TRUE CREDIT it more than deserves?
@@ruedas7378 I am a serious MACCAFAN also and for me, McCartney's WINGS/SOLO material has NEVER EVER RECEIVED the REAL TRUE CREDIT it deserves! I think the issue for some is that it all doesn't sound like the Beatles, for me that's a good thing because McCartney had already BEEN THERE DONE THAT! I want to hear PAUL McCARTNEY MUSIC, not the Beatles all over again!

You forgot about Junior's Farm and Sally G recorded in Nashville in 1974 with Geoff Britton as drummer.
Jimmy should of known Paul takes pride in being professional, as he should be.I love his current band-saw them in May!
