- Four Year Strong's official audio stream for "Falling On You" from the album, In Some Way, Shape, or Form. - available now on Decaydance / Universal Motown.
We've been playing our new song "Falling On You" live this past spring on the Rise Against tour. We hit some snags in production deadlines and the label told us we have to push back release date to get this bad boy on the album. Since it's finished we wanted to get it to you right away. Oh, and that photo of us was taken at Pearl's Social & Billy Club (our good friend Mikey from I Am The Avalanche's bar) when we were hanging out a few weeks back downing Shirley Temples (can't wait to get their album)!
Because of the snag in the production deadlines, In Some Way, Shape, or Form., will now be out November 8th. Good news though - with the new date we can get vinyl out for release date which was important to us. We'll also be able to get a limited-edition tour 7" with us on the upcoming AP Tour this fall. For everybody who has been asking about pre-orders, we'll get them out quickly and we're stoked to get out on the AP Tour and play all these new songs for you live!

LYRICS
I never did things by the book
If you don’t trust me then you’ll just have to take a look
I’ve got a different plan for me
Just wait around and then you’ll see
I’m taking on the world
Strike me out
Take a breath full of doubt
Spit back at the wall
Brace yourself for the backlash
You better believe that
It’s falling on you
From everything that I have learned
I gotta take what I can get, not what I’ve earned
But since I can not stomach to lose
I take it all so that there’s nothing left for you
I’m taking on the world
Strike me out
Take a breath full of doubt
Spit back at the wall
Brace yourself for the backlash
You better believe that
It’s falling on you
Ignite the fire deep down inside of you
You gotta let it burn
Don’t strike me down
I’m taking on the world
Strike me out
Take a breath full of doubt
Spit back at the wall
Brace yourself for the backlash
You better believe that
It’s falling on you
It's falling on you
Don’t strike me down!

New Four Year Strong music? YES PLEASE. Don't really care about the "change". They're still doing harmonies, they're still upbeat and happy. That's all that really matters with FYS.
This band is so underrated... Should be a lot more famous!
I don't see why people complain about this album, it's still incredible and Four Year Strong are still insane! Sure It's different to what we're used to seeing in Enemy Of The World and Rise Or Die Trying but if anything its good for giving us more variety to enjoy :) It's still an album worth buying and they're still the band we know and love
For those who say they sold out, They didn't. They changed a little, and not for fame, just because they thought it sounded good. This isn't the selling out kind of change, this is them changing in a good way. This is still Four Year Strong, just a little different.
Hereos get remembered, legends never die... always will support FYS
This is punk music, a new generation...Im going to nyc ap tour with pride
still an amazing fusion of melodic punk and metal, still a fan. its called evolution
I'm so excited for the album! It comes out two days after my birthday, I'm going to use my birthday money to buy it.
Four Year Strong always make awsome music
Four Year Strong always!!!
I am very upset like a lot of you about Four Year Strong's recent change in direction, but this song is currently on repeat for me. I did not like the three new songs at first, but after I came to accept that my favorite feel good pop punk-core band was changing, I grew to love their new stuff. It's a LOT better than most of the generic rock songs out there, so I am going to embrace the change and hope that this will bring a new generation of listeners to FYS! Legends Never Die!
nothing beats FYS they are gods of music
CANNOT WAIT FOR THIS ALBUM.
Keep doing and writing what you guys want to hear and think the fans will like. I just finished reading the AP story. Kids really don't get that you can't write the same record twice. Things get boring after a while and my ears crave new music all the time and this album is going to be FUCKING AWESOME!!! Thanks dudes! Can't wait to hear it in full. :)
The chorus in this song goes so hard. I don't think I'll ever grow to like "Stuck In the Middle," but at least there's hope for the new album. And to everyone saying "You're supposed to be -insert ignorant classification-" don't you think it's the band's prerogative to create their own sound? Just because their old music was classified as whatever genre doesn't mean they have an obligation to play into that expectation.
Once again this song is AWESOME!
everything they do is magic.
gonna go ahead and listen again. and probably another time after that.
I like the new direction. They arent selling out, they are just changing a little, It still sounds good!
This song is one of their best songs !!!
Eargasm, just can`t stop listenin` to it.
I'm pumped as hell for the album!
It doesnt matter if you like the or dont like the song the thing is you love the band! :)
EXCITED! I didn't even know they were making a new record.
this will be my birthday present !!!!!
Wait, FYS, are you taking on the world by any chance? Oh, couldn't tell.
this comes out the same day as mw3. LEGENDARY DAY.
They're writing music they love, music that sounds epic, music that is different/progressive and music that reflects themselves at this point in time; respect it and fucking love it
SECOND BEST SONG EVER
Now this is beast
If I want to hear the Enemy of the World sound, I'll listen to Enemy of the World. If I want to hear the Rise or Die sound, I'll listen to Rise or Die. I dig the new sound a lot and honestly it's REALLY not as huge of a difference as people are trying to play it as. Also people seem to forget that this band has been making changes to their sound frequently since day one. Anybody remember It's Our Time? Or The Glory EP? Doesn't sound like any of their other stuff either.
HOLY SHIT!! DYNAMICS!!!
It's like as the foo fighters start to suck fys comes in to fill the space in their own awesome way! great job guys
i dig it. idk why everyone is bitching, their last 2 albums were good and you can listen to them limitlessly.. they are bout to make an amazing album in every genre with pure bearded skill
I love when Bands Grow up as musicians and writters. This album going to me great :)
One of the first to hear this, awesome! \m/
This came out on my birthday :'D!!!
P.S. If you are saying they are detaching them selfs from their roots you're nuts. I'm 25 years old and I would say my roots to even liking the music I do now had a lot to do with 90's bands and my mom listening to van halen contently when I was like five and they even covered some of the greatest 90's radio songs.
Love FYS. Didn't listen to this album as much as their older stuff, but this song...love it!
FYs music is grnadest ever!!!!!!
Too people expecting more pop punk, it's something they were going to grow out of eventually, I'm liking the change, they've matured nicely imo.
I was waiting for you guys so bad in Argentina... Hope you'll come soon...
Absolutely love the 2 new songs! FYS you continue to amaze me
FYS is making music they love, they aren't the same band that they started with in 2001, therefor since their growing up, there music will change.
i love it.
People saying this song is crap. Josh left so they are obv gonna have to change some parts of their music and this song is BEAST!
i miss RODT. but i still broke the replay button
I actually really like this
this sounds just like a maturation of Enemy of the World, the new album is going to be amazing
nice breakdown. i also like the synth parts!
i already said it in the last song they released, but i have to respect their maturity in song writing. every band takes this kind of turn eventually and id prefer if they didnt but theres nothing i can do about it. it's their choice and i respect it. but personaly my favorite songs are off of rise or die trying
first 5 seconds to love the song
yes yes yes
I'm gonna fucking love this new record!!!
I love this band!!! They are still epic! \m/
Haters gonna hate, their growing up and so is their music get over it.
a lot better than the last track they released, sounds promising!
im loving this so much!, im taking on the world, WITH MY LOVE FOR FOUR YEAR STRONG.
FYI all those saying they shouldn't have gotten rid of Josh... The band have said that Josh never actually had any creative input - he just played the parts written for him by Dan and Alan. They dropped synth because they didn't want to write it anymore.
im glad josh left now it actually is FOUR BEARD STRONG
All bands go through change... FYS are an amazing band no matter what anyone says!
can i just recommend every1 listen to Boys No Good's album Never Felt Better and pretend it's the new Four Year Strong and and forget u ever heard this song or the other 1
I really like the new direction they're going in, they've done something different on every album and I like that about them! This albums gonna be the shit!
4 beards strong!!!
good growth
BEARDCORE RISES AGAIN!
This reminds me sooo much of Saosin..anyone else??
Song evokes the same feeling as "Enemy of the World" ( the song).
Can't.Fucking.Wait.
So many people are hating on FYS. They have just changed their genre a little bit. For the better i think! So what if they sellout too? Surely that just means they are actually earning money for something they love? I'm pretty sure most haters would do the same in their position.
I must be the only one who was really hoping fys was heading in this direction. in this day in age Im just happy its not pop or dubstep. theres so few bands nowadays doing this kind of music.. normally its hardcore if youre in this genre
This is fucking depressing. Rise or Die Trying will forever be the highlight of their career. My favorite band just fell off a cliff.
They said they were going to go in a new direction with this album, so I don't know why you guys are still upset. Let them do what they want to do, and respect them for the music that they are producing.
This is fucking epic
Loved Stuck In the Middle, but this is very hard to get into.... and to think they pushed back the release of the album for this song
When this song first started I thought it had great potential but then the verse started. I was disappointed but the more I listen to it the more it seems to grow on me. I'm thinking this album is going to be really good.
I'm really happy with the new songs. It's one more step. I mean...if you listen to Rise or die trying,it was kindda poppy stuff,it wasn't powerfull as Enemy of the world. Compare any song in RODT with any song in EOTW. The last ones are really differents. With this songs i feel the same. Are really differents to Enemy of the world,is more hardrock...and it's awesome!. But we have to wait to hear the full album to make a more accurate review.
fucking amazing this song !
A Four Year Journey:
Year one - Oblivious to the world (No song lyric)
Year two - On top of the world (Maniac R.O.D.)
Year three - Enemy of the world (Enemy of the World)
Year four - Taking on the world (Falling On You)
Awesome song, should put it on band hero
@AdamHalaoui yaaaa josh did not get kicked out actually he left by his own will because he wanted to get more involved in his side project. josh was loved.
I love this one. "Stuck In The Middle" is growing on me and I really dislike "Just Drive." Then again, I'm a hardcore kid, so RODT will always be my favorite. It's by no means selling out, and it still sounds great. It's extremely excellent production, and you can still hear all their talent on their instruments. It's personally not my favorite, and it's definitely different stylistically, but it's still good.
So why are people hating this song, give me a real reason? Also this is still Punk lol
This album seems like it's going to have a darker sound. Not that the lyrics are dark or anything but it's just different. Like they're writing from a different place.
@linxtheletdown that is a really good point, and what about what the hell is a gigawatt, how will they play that?
this album better have at least one breakdown in it XD
I don't know what everyone's problem is?
This is fucking awesome!!
@WCD4LIFE Oh, I had heard that they just all voted synth out. but at any rate it's a bummer. Especially to compare the four albums.
Look, I hope for any band that when they want to catch a break, and they do, that their fans will be understanding what it takes to get to that point. They're not selling out; FYS has ALWAYS been about pop songs, regardless if they formed through hardcore riffs or pop punk. I'm still disappointed there was no chuggin though...
@woodmicster ...yes
@xFREExMINDx this is exactly what i was thinking.
All i gotta say is read the AP article, you'll respect them more for the change...
people need to chill out this is one song complain about the their sound changing once you listen to the whole album
they better have breakdowns in their other songs...
When it hits 00:48 shit gets real
I like both of the songs that have been released. Once you've made it you have enough freedom to experiment with your sound (see Blink-182, Fall Out Boy, Green Day). Kudos to FYS for trying something new! It sounds more like songs like On a Saturday and Enemy, and although I don't like it AS MUCH as the pop-punk/happy hardcore kinda stuff, it's still some good music. =)
Favorite band. Kindly let me worship you.
could someone tell me where you heard the rest of the album? cause by the sounds of these comments you already know what the whole album is gonna sound like.
This song is good, but i preffer Stuck in the middle. i'm really stoked for the new album,it's gonna be intresting 'cause they are going more Hard Rock than easycore...
i don't get the arguing in the comment section about what style of music this.Does it really matter? the genre definitions are really just boundaries made up by critics. It really is true what Strauss, Ellington, Armstrong and many others said: "There's only two kinds of music. Good and bad, that's it" And you be the judge of that, but don't label stuff and then dislike it because of the label. Music is art after all and everything about it is subjective. Just enjoy if you dig it, if not then ignore it.
@hoggiemedia well said, agree 100%
