Hi Steve. Another great video. While installing mine I discovered that one of the three pins is longer than the other two. I put the longest pin in the hole you have marked #1 in your video(the top hole closest to the bag) and screwed all three screws all the way in I got an instant perfect fit on both sides. Not sure if that is just for my bike (14' SGS) but thought I'd mention it in case it makes someone else's life easier. Playing with the one side took a half hour, once I figured out the longer screw I did the other side in 2 minutes. Thanks again for your awesome videos!
Hey Paul! Yeah man I got a few days behind on youtube but thank you for commenting. I think I have the short on in the top back but I will for sure get the bike apart and start messing around with the pins to see what works best. Thanks again for the help on here.

Yes sir Scott...we are trying to pinstripe them...thats not an easy task so it will take a little time. At first we werent even going to offer the pinstripe but they are working on it. Check the advanblack review page on facebook for updates.

Steve, I noticed you did not flip up the passenger floorboards. I need to be able to flip these up in order to be of interest to me. If they do not flip up without hitting they hit me right in the back of my calf when riding.
I had same issue, they will not flip up, wish i knew that before I purchased......

I would suggest that paint protection film where your boots would be on the floor boards. What about saddle bag gaurds though? Definitely not enough space for both?
Ive been running these for a few years now and both my baggers and never had the wife hit them with her boots...HOWEVER I did point that out to her when I installed them. Now if you pick up some random with big ass boots that are bedazzled and have buckles on them and they have no clue about bikes..yeah your side covers are gonna have a bad day. And no, no side covers are made to be used with saddlebag guards..they mount in the same place.
@@sikbaggers Lol. I was thinking the rider getting off the bike. I had issues wearing layers in cold weather riding. Getting my leg over without hitting the bike
Now what about a 2007 street glide with the 2014+ style stretched advanblack bags?
09 to 23 side will cover will not work on a 08 and older bike. You can do the mod for the bags but nothing for the rear fender or side covers. the bike is shorter and thinner the 09 and newer.
Hey do you know when your pin is correct ? Do you have to keep putting the saddle bags on and off just to make sure you have an 1/8 of an in gap ?
Man Steve those are really nice looking being a justable man that's a big hit right there they also look nice and clean good lines, the price is not bad at all either, I'm going with the Arlen Ness Down and Out stretched saddlebags Paul yaffe now is selling them called the super stretch bags with fender I'm pretty sure those will match up with the saddlebag Fender set up I'm going for.
Yes sir...very clean lines! I love them and well worth the time and wait we put into them. Im sure they will fit with most bag kits brother...most all hold the same angle on the front of the bags so there shouldnt be to much of an issue.

You can run either 14 up or 13 down...either way

Hey Steven when I put my covers on i have a gap a the top between the frame and the top of the side cover did your bike have the same gap i couldnt tell from your vid
there is a slight gap because you dont want that rubbing your frame...also the seat should cover it
I know this is pretty old but, my gap at the top is so far out I can't put my bags back on. Both sides. Any suggestions?

Hey what’s up. Nice video as always. I got my set a few days ago and the denim black match for my bike is perfect. I tried putting them on last night and I’m having trouble with the adjustment screws. When I close my lid it rests on the side cover and I can’t figure out what else to do. I noticed that all 3 screws are different size lengths so do you think I can switch them around and play with it that way or should what? Any advise is appreciated...

I had to adjust my saddle bag mounts And tip the bag just enough for proper clearance just takes a little finesse
Go figure I ordered some from another supplier because I was tired of waiting just my luck. My question is it appears you have some rubber or felt down at the bottom of the cover wher it meets the bag just wondering if I’m seeing things or if you running something there not to scratch the bag I ordered some black felt with 3m tape on it to install on mine just Incase of scratches, lots of vibration in those bags. Great video!
Smooth 450 no sir not running anything there. I used the pins to adjust for a clean line.. Shook my bags by hand to make sure they weren't hitting and done.

Hey Steve,..they will be longer than the bags and they will extend past the front of the bag by a few inches.
Will these work with my factory stretched bags on road king special and also will floorboards flip up? Thanks these looks awesome
The factory strecthed bags do not go down as far as the advans do...they will work as they have the same angle but im afraid they will go past the bottom of the bags. You can measure the front of your bags from the top lip, lid open, to the bottom. These covers on the fin side where it meets the bag is 14 and 1/4 inches long. Let me know.
Any chance of getting extended side covers for a 2006 Street Glide? I would like to put 2014 bags on my 06 along with the extended side covers.
Sorry we dont offer side covers for the 08 and older bikes.
So if a guy was to put one touch bags on 13 or older would you at that point be able to use these side covers
You can run either side covers, 09 to 13 or 14 up on your bike with the 14 up bags.
How much are you asking for road king 18?

Hey Robert..yes you can add the 14 side covers if you have the 14 bags. The only issue Ive had is the front mounting hole. You know how you had to dremel out the front bracket to get the 14 up bags to fit..its just not quite enough to slide in the side covers..so what I do is take a piece of Gorilla double sided tape and place it directly on the bar where the front saddlebag cushion is. That lifts the bag up just enough to clear the side cover and you can still get your bag bolts in provided you use the bolts we send with the kit and not HD bolts. It takes some tweaking but itll go...we are putting body parts on a bike where they should not fit. have patience with it.
Can you use shorter pegs in the back? and if so can you put them up? Thinking something like the Harley stock rear pegs...
Yes sir...pegs will work great. They are significantly smaller than boards.
Can you install these and still have your saddle bag crash bars also.

Steve will these work with the stock saddlebags ?
Harley davidson has 2 "stock" bags. The short normal bags that come on most older models in before 2017 and then the stock stretched bags from harley...these wont work with the stock short bags..the ones that are flat all the way across the bottom. However Advanblack has some that fit the "stock stretched" bags.

Hey Steve got question for you off your topic. What is the best led bulb for 09 road glide without buying the entire light, just wanting bulb.
Hey Jerry It looks like the bulb type is H4 for your bike...I have tried several LED styles in my truck and in other bikes including this bike before going to the all LED headlight. The light is very bright if you get it in the 5000 - 6000K range. Anything less is yellow and anything more is blue. The problem I ran into with all of them is they are hard to focus the light...its a spray of light and not a directional flood of light. Some are now offering adjustable beam..so look for one like this one www.amazon.com/dp/B07C5QXJQN and you should be good.

No...no stretched side cover will work with bag guards.
I know it's an older video but someone might answer my question. I have a 2002 ultra. I have the newer style 15 cvo bags on it. It looks like I could run the newer style side covers "if" the pins will line up. The stock side covers look alike on outside. Anyone know if the pins changed around and maybe when?
they have not changed....you can mix and match 09 to 13 and 14 and newer bags and side covers. the frame is the same

Wow man those floor boards look sick I love those things bad ass, how do you review the floorboards on the long ride do you step on the ground with your knees all wobbly lol, do they give any kind of damper
Actually to my surprise these are awesome. No rubber dampers at all just the rubber for non slip but with these newer bikes man they dont rattle and roll like they used to. Its a pretty smooth ride. I dont notice a thing different about these versus my hd boards.
Steven Housden thanks for your for your reply Steve appreciate you my brother, do you have a link for those floorboards, PS one more thing the bracket for your your razor Razorback I like the profile of it it looks low and sharp is that a custom bracket or stock bracket, seems like all the brackets come at 1 height for the trunks?
The floorboards came from a company called HTTMT but I dont have a link anymore. Maybe a google search will bring something up. The razor pack is from the company I work for Advanblack ...and the bracket is just a stock height bracket. Do you have stretched side covers and bags that will work for a 2014 ultra limited, because my ultra has the engine guards on the side of the bike and if I remove them their isn’t anything to support on the bags?
These will not work for Ultras with bag guards. You could however get street/road glide bag rails and switch them out, then you could run stretched side covers.
Will these side covers work with other bag brands?? I have Arlen ness 5 inch angled bags with stock hd lids. 2017 street glide..

when you do the 14 up conversion you can use either the 13 down or 14 up side covers. either way works

Do these work with stock bags?
Advanblack sells them for stock bags...depending on what "stock" bags you have though. Haley has a stock bag and a stock CVO style bag. They are different lengths in the front so you need to order the right ones for you bike. What Style bags do you have?
Is there any issues with these stretched covers if you have a side dumping exhaust? I’m running dirty birds up yours exhaust 2 into 1
No issues..a lot of guys running side dump exhaust with our side covers
I have true 4.5 streached bags i noticed they didn't come all the way down to the bottom of your bags are these all one size?

They 2014 stretched side covers will not Fit the 2013 models as i have tried this but I am going to cut the bottom mount out of the 2014 and re attach it and build it up with fibreglass and re mould it to suit the 2013 as i think it will work with some FIBRERGLASS REPAIR and a bit of remoulding and some sanding as the bottom locating hole on the 2014 is more to the back of the rear of the frame than the 2013 down. Oh the 2 top mounts seem fit perfectly.
Now why I do not know as I thought the 2013 and the 2014 frames were the sane..... BUT I Stand to be corrected..
If anyone can help /confirm or deny this would be appreciated.

Will these work with my 2019 Road Glide Special oem stretched saddle bags??? also what is the turn around wait time on the paint (wicked red denim)?
No these will not work with HD stretched bags...the HD bags are a 3 inch tappered bag..so basically stock height at the front and tapper down 3 inches at the back...our side covers are a full 4.5 inch stretch. However we are designing side covers for those bags right now. Shouldnt be too long. You can email info@advanblack.com and ask them for a ETA on those side covers. I havent been given a date yet. Also the turn around time for all painted parts is 4 weeks as we paint to order.

If you install the 14+ bags you will have to order the 14+ side covers to match.

Ohhh I like these! However, out the door price of 509.00 for me. :( I have a mysterious red sunglo FLHXS so I would also want the "stripe" added that the special has.. Perhaps, I may take those dollars and apply to an advanblack tour pack whereby I can get more functionality out of versus side covers. Once again great vid Steve!! I am liking the products !
we are working on the pinstripes this week to get them added to the site. Hopefully everything goes well and we can stripe these. But yes I understand it is just a cosmetic piece and no real function...the tour packs are pretty dang nice to have too.
FYI On the site it shows it from the drop down. They are 279, then I select my color +180 for that, then there is a section "adding matching stripes" +50 for "burgundy for Mysterious Red Sunglo" for a total price of 509.00. And yes big thumbs up on the tour pack.! Or were you referring to the pinstripes for the tour pak?

no sir..I tested all of that yesterday. I had a 13 in the shop, we put the 13 bags on and the 14 up bags...the problem is the 13 down bags sit to far forward. If you move the bag back to fit then it rides up on the bag rail instead of sitting in the slot for the bag rail. We will be doign a new set for the 13 down. There is just no way to mod these to gain an inch
Be where of these guys I had to do a bank dispute to get my money back ordered lower fairings never got a tracking number when I began to call and email never got the call back or emails very disappointing

adjust the settings on your device. This is shot in 4K....there is no blurry on this video...it is your device.
Steve will these work with the stock bags ?
dpends on what "Stock" bags you have...the flat across the bottom stock bags, these will not work..if you have harley tapered bags that are longer in the back, say like the ones you see on the newer specials and cvos then we make some for those bags. Just look for the CVO OEM style side covers.
Do they work with saddlebag gaurds?
No you will have to remove your guards. If you look back on some of my older vids I ran the guards until I put the first set of prototypes on. These run down the full length of the front of your bag right where the bag guards come out.
Will these fit my stock 2019 SG special?
We sell two different length side covers. The ones in this video are for 4.5 inch full stretched bags. We also offer the side covers for the Halrey stretched bags which are tapered. They are slightly longer than stock in the front and tapper down 3 inches in the back. Those are called CVO style side covers.
