Second time I played this video, I wanted to make some cassava cake that is very simple and authentic that I can taste the simplicity. Being in abroad I missed the filipino authentic foods especially like cassava cake. Yes We make them just like this one, I don’t care much for too much extra ingredients such as condensed milk .

yes you can, in fact that would be even better, but I am too lazy to go through the grating process hehe. I heard you have to soak the peeled cassava in water overnight to get rid of the toxic inside. Just weigh the grated amount and follow the recipe. Good luck :)

I recommend that people don't use fresh cassava because it has cyanide in it. If you don't soak it correctly I heard it will still have substantial amount of cyanide in it. However this cake looks good, so I will try to find the frozen cassava at an Asian store the next time I go to one.
her targeted audience is non-vietnamese people therefore she used english since it is more well-known around the globe. plus if you are looking for a cooking channel that speaks vietnamese, im sure there are plenty around youtube.

You can peel and soak fresh cassava overnight in cold water. Then grate or grind in a food processor. The rest is the same.

For this recipe you need grated cassava, not cassava flour
