Corvette-Powered Corvair Rampside SHREDS Tire Slayer Studios!
Вставка
- Опубліковано 4 жов 2022
- Wayne is our kinda guy. His mid-mount, LS3-powered 1962 Corvair Rampside is one of a kind, sporting full Corvette suspension in the front and rear. He drove all the way from Canada for a local event and decided to class up Tire Slayer Studios while he was in town, but you wouldn't have thought that Wayne was driving that thing home with the way he threw down!

Lmao, love it when Suppy looks over and says “it ain’t no Honda” .
He did learn a thing or two since LS Fest. He went from "I've never done burnouts with this truck" to "Let me get straight to a 3rd gear smokeshow"... 😁😎🤟
God bless GM and their engineers for giving us the LS
Best moment was definitely the Suppy Confused Stare when Wayne explained the steering ssystem
Big respect for the control he had because just slowly walking it around the yard the way he did really wasn't an easy task with those fat ass johnnies on the rear and a long ass wheelbase with hardly any steering lock. Seriously impressed with the ingenuity of the build and the overall humbleness of the owner. Such a sweet custom rig.
That's how car life should be, build it, drive it to places, rip it, break it, build it again and enjoy sharing it with other people who appreciates it.
talk about a build with personality this guy has it! Damn, cool, wierd, new, old, all at the same time!
🙏
No doubt. Give this man an invitation.
Thanks Hoonigan! That was so fun to watch…I appreciate it for sure.
🙌
I appreciate your build man, really unique! Great patina and the little touches add a lot.
I had a 1962.5 Corvair Rampside with a Porsche 912 engine in it. One of the coolest vehicles I ever had.
Been waiting to seen this thing on the channel, mad respect for the drive. These Canadians are as crazy as Australians just different
It's so cold up here, imagine Michigan but 20 degrees colder LOL.
There’s a Few Canadians that come down for Drag Week and a few other drag and drive events that 1320 covers. Canadians are definitely valid when it comes to car guys!
I spotted this thing on another UA-cam channel and they talked him into putting it into going into the pit. This guy is totally insane making the long hall in this heat from Canada 🇨🇦 hats off big man!
I saw him on the Fab Rats channel, didn't know he was from the Great White North too,
Larry Chen featured him too.
Being “from Canada” is kind of vague. Trust there is a big difference in all the provinces. The further east, the weirder people get
🙌 thanks brother
@@CANControlGRAFFITI he’s around Lethbridge, not sure on his exact location but the RPM tuners are located here and I’ve seen him cruising a few times
Just from the thumbnail I thought this is one of the coolest things to be on this channel
I wanna see him convert it to all wheel drive and attempt flat spin doughnuts whilst keeping his lunch down
They're called Heli's. NewZealand been slappin them skids forever
@@FORDLYFAOTEAROA in the hectic subies brooo
@@user-kj7nw4zg1y lmao what
I’m pretty sure wayne could find the correct combo of tranny/transferbox/diff/hubs & shafts on the darkweb to make this possible 🚙 🔧 🔨 🍩
And drinking a chalky maulk
The part-finding/matching on this is wild. I was not expecting a Pathfinder or Skyline to be involved at all.
This thing is freaking sweet. Awesome as fuck. Deserves a sema invite.
Absolutely amazing build love how he still has 1,500 miles to drive but still sends it 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
One of the coolest most unique vehicles I've seen on hoonigan I never knew till today there was a corvair van
Corvair Rampside, Corvair Van, Corvair Aquarius vehicle, Corvair RV...and check out Corvair Turtle the Italian fantasy vehicle...
The fact that that thing is a 1 or 1 🔥🔥
This whole build is great. That steering wheel, column and gas cap are so sweet.
Zach's Heartbeat of America hat is 🔥
I did the steering almost the exact same way on our Ford falcon club van we are building for a customer. but we used Volkswagen steering box to a reversed rack. super cool build man
The steering setup is bananas, I'm also still speechless.
Favorite vehicle on the bonus channel! Wish we could see more
👍👍👍👍👍👍
Full build here…🙌
@@dickindustriesinc awesome, just sub’d!
Baddest Corvair rampside, I ever seen!
I honestly did not know that they made a truck or a ute version of the corvair. You learn something new everyday 😉👍👌
"Pretty much the coolest thing ever"
Your man is a shoe-in for the Burnyard!
On top of that, he drove 1500 miles to show up the Hoonigans with his battery case!
Definitely wanna see more of this thing he shredded it up like it was his day job
I've always had a fascination with the chevy corvair, especially after I saw this guy's truck!! This thing really is a mix of cool AF with a lil weird added to it, lol always a good match in my opinion!!
New show idea, "LS in a What?", where it is build breakdowns but with LS shoved into strange and unusual cars
“That’s hot!”
You right
Send him the invite that thing is an odd vehicle but it gets down that Coke Cola battery box such a sick touch.
Corvairs had all types of vehicles in the early models. Coupe, sedan, station wagon, pickup, and van.
Never knew these Corvair’s existed! Now I want one. My dads first car was a Corvair.
Seriously though corvairs are underrated cars. In my opinion I like the flat six so I’m keeping that
So much cool stuff on that thing.
I have the same corvair ramp side sitting at my home place. It was my dad's and I always wanted to do something like what he did with it but that'll never happen. The poor thing is just sitting there adding to its great patina.
It ran and drove when it was parked. We used to throw a big tractor tire inner tube in the back and ride on it to the swimming hole. It was a great time.! I'd love to see it back on the road some day.
Man this guy did a great job on this thing, way to go bro!!
Get to work man. That things not gonna build itself! Can’t just sit back & watch it rot away, it’s way too cool to let that happen
@@scottspropertyservices6877 money is the mother of all dream killers.
I need to find it a good home if I want to see it ever be on the road again
We'll be seeing you at the "Sideshow"!...👍
This is a different level of weird and awesome lol
The Canadians know how to send it 🤙🏼🤙🏼🇨🇦🇺🇲
Love the Canadian Corvair beautiful
"Sorry to fill the block with smoke, ay"
Great job buddy!!! Glad we had the chance to hang out and cruise while you were in town!!!! True Hoonigan!!
Awesome dope af van but can we talk about all the new artwork on the shipping containers?!?
That's a mean wagon.... Also awesome to see the yanks doing decent skids these days....
💚💚💚
Perfect candidate for an 8 into 1 collector.
That is SICK!
never clicked like on a video so quick. I love the Rampsides and the Greenbriers! and hell yeah invite him to Sema. the man deserves a spot.
Love everything about that truck
That thing is SICK!! Great video!
This thing is cool on so many levels…. 💨💨💨
"Not Me" on the bondo!
That thing is sick! Def have to burnyard
man drove 3,000 miles in all .. let that man in!!!!
Oh he’s burnyard qualified for sure🤘
11:30 this truck is insane I want to build my own variant if I can't ill settle for the next best thing.
That patina🤌
I got pictures of this in our home town of libby Montana at Hot August Nights “ignite the night”
That steering wheel is awesome I want one
SEMA Burnyard for sure. If you have any doubts check out your buddy Larry Chen's LS Fest feature on this truck.
Lol heatwave. 😆 come to Australia and drop some lines. Epic rig.. love the ls3 we have them in all our Holden's.. yeeeww
Pretty sick build 🔥🔥
Working in Texas in fab shops with no AC and the sun setting on the only open bay doors for airflow as well as driving a Datsun 260z with no AC as a daily. It sucks I feel for you guys. I worked out in LA in April and May and 90 degrees was so nice to work in especially dry heat!!! Stay cool boys, hope those wildfires stay at bay, everyone needs a break these days. Thanks for always bringing some entertainment!
WANT!!! I dont know why, but I need this truck!!
“Tuned by RPM in Lethbridge”
I never thought in a million years I’d see a fellow CANADIAN on Hoonigan mention my little city! I’m literally sitting in my office that’s a block away from RPM
Badass rig.
8:05 gave this video a like just for that comment. "I always wanted a corvette but didn't want the image"
Mmy Dad had two corrals.
A monza spider and a rampside like this truck.
We used to do yard work with the truck. I remember putting the mower in the bed up the ramp. Cool ride.
That thing smokes up so easy... it''s a YES from me... lol SEMA BURN YARD!
I’d love to see video of this Corvair driving through customs 🛃
It’s pretty awesome really. Even the border guards smile
This thing is bonkers
I was hoping to see PROF!
This guy also recently visited Fab Rats in UT!
The answer was yes as soon as he lit the back tires up no problem.
Definitely should be at the burnyard! Just gotta get a better cooling system figured and it'll be a good show!
Good content.
Good job!.
That thing whips holy, that was the sketchiest 360 I’ve ever seen 😂
Again beyond awesome 👍👍👍😎
Hard AF , daaaaaaamn crazy
Where is that heatwave now 3:42 🥶
one badass cool custom corvair picup swap ls3 ;) ;)
Good morning gentlemen , I hope you guys are having a great day . Stay safe and God bless
I remember this heatwave. Here in Michigan it just got really nice out for a bit. Now... the winter is coming.
This guy does a burnout like an Ozzie, sick :), Australian lol
Scotto there's no heat wave out here lol it's cold as shit out here bro.
That cut after the dark web was mentioned, you know the boys were shooting the shit.
WHOOT WHOOT, props to METHBRIDGE i mean LETHBRIDGE!!!
Imagine trying to race this thing - grip - you're over the front wheel arch with a mid engine RWD. I Imagine it's like the guys who like drift K trucks in Forza 😂😂
same as many vans of the era
@@StanleyKubick1 I imagine it would feel like putting a barstool on the front of an AE86 when braking 😂😂
That's cool
F YEAH!
Yes and yes
1500 miles ain't too bad, that's a 2 day drive.
Those other 9 guys are always there in their chairs. The show just happens to be there when they are.
,love it. Want to turn my Safari van into a pickup with a ramp like that
He needs to go to Sema!
Can you make a gymkhana drift car out of one of these? Maybe slide around the streets of Detroit? Would be sick to see js.
Oh bro, I saw on IG Prof got a ride in this thing. I was hoping to see King Gampo on this episode.
“A heat wave affecting the entire country” it’s like barely 60 degrees in Michigan lol…
