Chase, i had always thought you were a really good qb. i would LOVE for you to become the Saints OC one day and become a HC. i get this feeling that u would be awesome. make it happen sir bc the league could use a guy like u sir.
Case I know you're friends with Derek and he's a great guy and you're a quarterback but dude go through the whole tape. He was throwing to the wrong guy alllllll day!
Bro. you Started off by saying you love Derek Carr and I can tell. I totally disagree with you, Derek is not the complete problem but a part of it. The coaching staff Dennis Allen has never been a good head coach, you may say he is but once again I disagree. Derek Carr was highly overpaid, there's no way he is worth a $150 million. At this point Carr is no more than a highly paid second string QB. Andy Dalton can do what he's doing on the field. If given a real opportunity I think Jamis Winston could do a better job. I blame Mickey Loomis for making Dennis Allen head coach, do to Allen's pass record as a head coach and paying Derek Carr $150 million when he could have paid Jamis Winston $18 million and took $132 million to add some pieces around him to make this talented team a great one.
Dude😂 how is he not the problem then in the same breath say he’s at his best when things are predetermined? -1:22 Dude I can play under those circumstances. The touchdown to MT and big play to Taysom, dude never looked anywhere else. If his best quality isn’t improvisation, seeing that he lacks superior arm strength, speed, accuracy, decision making (-2:42 ),and now even his leadership is in question after that stunt with Olave. There is a reason the Raiders of all teams let this guy walk for a guy that leads all active QBs in sick days. He ain’t it, he’s just not it, and I pray that I’m wrong because we are stuck with him for the next 3 years and I would hate if we sucked the entire time.
He is, he's never been that good going through his progressions. And he's bad under pressure as well. Saints were better off signing baker mayfield or just keeping dalton.
Chase, I have tons of respect for you and your career as a player. This video is essentially fan mail, though. You didn't exclusively cherry pick the good plays, but you didn't cover just how many times Carr is getting himself into trouble with his feet, late progression decisions, and poor ball placement. Everyone in this offense has dirt on their hands and the fault isn't exclusively with Carr, but Carr is still part of the problem.
He'll be fine guys. He missed deep throws because his throwing shoulder is not100% I've watched him for 10 seasons. He's playing hurt. He is usually very good deep ball thrower. You can tell he's rushing the throws so he don't get re-injured
I feel like a little bit of the disconnect between Carr and Olave might be that Carr is crediting him with Davante Adams-like ability to read coverages and improvise. Maybe from practice or film study discussions - i.e. hey if we run this, and you see this, the corner/safety does this, I want you to do this. You got to see it a bit with Rodgers in training camp too... A veteran QB basically expecting younger receivers to recall & execute things like that in the moment (maybe a comment that was made in passing), something that makes Davante such a phenomenal receiver. Just a thought...
@FightrForLife You feel like, but you don't know, right? Does it sound reasonable to expect a 2nd year WR to have the polish of playing WR with Aaron Rodgers for 7 years?
@tchoupitoulas27 Obviously YOU dont know either... The only people who do are in the building. Davante has an amazing ability to recall routes and coverages from years as prior, much less conversations about running certain routes vs. coverages, looks, etc... MAYBE Carr has mentioned/discussed certain things that they haven't actually practiced, and he expects concepts to stick and to be manifested, like Davante. It's very likely an adjustment period
I LOVE how this comment section thinks they know more than CHASE DANIEL in analyzing the QB position. Yall must've forgot and clearly don't know football at all.
Saying he's biased because you disagree with him wouldn't make your statement in any way true. Did you even watch the whole thing? Do you understand coverage? Optional route running? Play designs and reads? If you did and you actually listened with an open ear then you'd understand. From what I can see, all of you are biased. You think everything is always the QBs fault and therefore have lumped him into that category, with no evidence aside from a couple plays.
@@nevadakarl5184 it was a question..because there is another former QB who broke down the same game and has different analysis and spread the blame around (INCLUDING CARR). So Chase could be looking at things through a different lense because he likes Carr. It's human nature..but you can do you..I choose to believe that Carr is not solely to blame..but he is partially. AK, Thomas, and Olave did good in this system in the past so it can't be just them.
I watched the whole video and it was not Chase just praising Carr. He pointed out the mistakes he made too but the point is Carr isn't the worst in the league like there trying to make him out to be. 4 interceptions in 7 games. There's QB's that threw 8-9.😂😂😂
These little things here or there is what Derek has done his entire career. "Just a little better pass. Just a little more of an accurate pass. Just a small tweak". At some point, you have to realize it's just not good enough.
They put in a new Jon Gruden offense in the Summer Camp and Gruden himself was running the drills. If the skilled position players around Derek Carr are not running the right route when the defense blitzes, Derek Carr is not the problem. There is more to football than physical abilities, your brain has to work also.
No Chase ... I have to dis-agree the route was not suppose to be a hitch .... its an option, the Db had already committed to coming back in and AK read it and took off down the sideline. Its the same option route as if he was running out the back field when he reads the LB, LB drops RB stops in front, LB commit forward RB goes behind, LB goes Left RB goes right, LB goes right RB goes left. The DB committed and AK read him and ran past him. You know good and well you throw to a spot in the Saints offense because it based on timing. Carr is off because he's trying to throw to the players instead of throw to the area where the WR should be.
Saints won game 1 Saints won game 2 DC won against GB in the first half and WINSTON along with the defense lost that game. DC never should have played the Bucs. Stroud had 50%passing and the texans rallied to support a struggling QB. DC had 70 % passing up until the last 4 passes where he tried to carry this whole sorry team on his back. The Texans rallied as a team and the saints crumbled as a team. The Jaguar game. The only good scoring was when DC went to NO HUDDLE OFFENSE and carried this whole sorry team on his back again. The defense lost every play and every down the entire game. DC is not a great QB but he is a good QB Play calling ranked 32 Offensive line ranked 27 Penalties ranked 21 Receivers ranked 21 QB ranked 18. The kicker/ punter gives opponents good field position every time. The saints sucked 2 year ago and they sucked last year. DC could throw sooner. And his running sucks but he is not the top 3 problems on this team. The # 1 problem has always been the offensive line. Brees couldn't win with this offensive line This reminds me of the movie THE REPLACEMENTS. The team makes a mistake and then another and then another. Soon they feel lile are stuck in quicksand. They are more focused on the errors and cant focus on playing. They need to get back to positive team play lile game 1 and game 2. AK ROCKS. AK IS THE MAN. AK FOR PRESIDENT OF THE USA. Have a nice day.
That's fair. I wouldn't say the team is sorry but I don't think it's all on the quarterback. They need to be a better unit and not "individual" players.
Winston??? Lol. You're clearly not an unbiased person. Winston has nothing to do with the outcome. He did is job. And note Carr didn't give 17 points. Shaheed returned one for 6
And I look at the preseason, Carr played one series the entire preseason. And the lack of comfort in the offense is evident. Jamies/Curry #NextManUp....It's the QB, I get it but if anyone was playing at this level they would be benched or challenged during the week.
JT O Sullivan wasn’t a hall of famer or even successful starter for a reason. Everyone can point out mistakes or blame people when teams are not having success. There’s plenty of blame to go around, and Derek’s mistakes also should be corrected, when they happen. And this is a much better analysis of what the defense and offense is doing. And everyone always gives Carr crap for checking the ball down. But on this Olave play, which may well not have been the right progression, perhaps - we don’t know for sure - but when he goes for a dagger deep, now he needs to hit his check down. If Olave doesn’t stop, he probably gets that ball and wins that matchup. SMH.
So is Pete calling the right play calls in your eye?? You have spent plenty of time with the Saints. Sounds like a lot of miss communication and WR just not getting open/going 110%
that man threw a pass to Olave, on a play designed for Tayson, who was clearly open btw. He then proceeded to yell at Olave for successfully (being a decoy) doing his job on that play. the play was designed to go to Tayson! Taysom was WIDE OPEN. nobody within 3/4 yards of him. there’s only one guy in that equation who failed to do his part, Carr.
@tomascruz2210 I'll listen to the guy who played the system over arm chair coaches, sorry. Carr hasn't been perfect, but he's far from the problem everyone wants to point towards.

Carr isnt the best in the league but you can do far worse. Even guys like Mahomes make mistakes but winning makes it all better. I dont get the chatter for Winston either, the guy has talent but he makes tons of mistakes too and even the one time he got in this year he had a 17pt lead and couldnt manage a point. I think these guys should have played more in the preseason since it was new QB and all. Plus Carr hurt his shoulder and you didnt have Kamara for the first 3 games. And the o line is a work in progress.
Us Saints fans are spoiled😅. We just gotta put up with it until we see some more winning. I was impressed with the comeback and Carr taking it upon himself to get us back in it.⚜️⚜️⚜️💯💯💯
@divineeternity7268 things will get better, he gets better in critical moments, that is why he has so many come feom behind victories, and in OT one of the best records when the game is on the line, I believe the only OT losses he has are when Raiders got screwed by refs or some unfortunate thing. He does make mistakes that leave you scratching your head sometimes, but he makes up for them. When he is given freedom to call his own plays, is usually whwn he is at his best.
@@angelhr79 Yeah he definitely proved that in week 1 against the Titans. I would say the red zone is his weakness but he can get the ball down field and give us a chance. Not sure how you can be so wrong. I usually enjoy your breakdowns. Of course, Carr is not t h e only problem. It's a team game with coaching also being an important component. But Carr is just really bad, fundamentals, decisions, field vision, taking any responsibility. He throws hospital balls, ruins careers. He can throw a nice pass, once in a while. How is that worthy of erasing his egregiously bad tendencies?

Da Boot Tragedies gets to emotional and rants, its obvious he's to young to have ever seen what bad was! Who ever said Carr was ever a top tier QB? That's not what he has to be and that's not top tier QB money he's making!! They all just need to get on the same page, there's alot of blame to go around, it ain't just Carr!! It starts with the O-line because we can't even run the ball. How is Chase Daniel's biased? He was in the system for about 7 years! He actually pointed out some of Carr's misses but there's still communication issues and O-line issues!! This fan base is spoiled and now pointing fingers!!! And it doesn't matter who's at Head Coach, they'll be given a short leash by the fan base!! When you've had a Stable HOF QB for 16 years and then he retires...This is what you get!!
I'm not a saints fan so i don't really care what happens to them. But carr and young getting so much hate is ridiculous to me. Yea carr isn't the saints biggest problem, everything is a little off and it's compounding. They might need to simplify their system or something. Because carr and their receivers are not able to stay on the same page. Carr's main actual problem is he gets jumpy when pressured. But that isn't unique, especially when the QB gets hit a lot.
@@timothywashington880 chase reluctantly pointed out mistakes, and ignored the hurried check downs and lack of field vision... Perfect example kamara when he go routed instead of stopping. I've seen many times where the guys you guys think or the guys held on to the ball too long with Perfect protection from the line
He seems to have happy feet and bail out of the pocket really early man
Would you blame him for trying to be more wary of the pocket when his line has played so bad the start of this season 😂
In a 17 game season, you don’t want your QB being sacked 4 times a game and being hit after almost every pass? Just ask Drew
@@davidsellers3639 That's because he's is forcing the ball deep and not going through his progressions.
@@doubleg381😂😂😂. Exactly.
Chase, i had always thought you were a really good qb. i would LOVE for you to become the Saints OC one day and become a HC. i get this feeling that u would be awesome. make it happen sir bc the league could use a guy like u sir.
Everyone wants JT O’Sullivan to be right but let’s face it. Chase Daniels is also right. Carr is better than the haters wants to admit.
Yea bruh Carr is low key making it worst shit some throws I can make honestly it should be easy for a person who been in the league for 10 years
the problem there is nobody on the coaching staff to yell and set players straight when they do wrong
So he can't be biased? Bias covers over truth sometimes.
LMAO 🤣 CHASE DANIEL WAS A BACK QB THE HIGHEST PAID BACK UP AND STOLE MORE MONEY THEN JAMURCUS RUSSELL 🤣 CHASE WAS 🗑️
I watched the whole video and it was not Chase just praising Carr. He pointed out the mistakes he made too but the point is Carr isn't the worst in the league like there trying to make him out to be. 4 interceptions in 7 games. There's QB's that threw 8-9.😂😂😂
I think holding in a 2 count verse a 3 count release perfered in a slant if not open Carr on the go on the green!
We haven’t a ran all season I think
It’s the offense itself it kills qbs so it’s coaching band scheme. Help the qbs instead of calling randomness.
People complain just like when he played for the raiders mfs drop passes but it's still his fault 😂😂😂
Can we have you play call for the saints?
He's not the problem but I'm starting to think he is not a solution.
Fair
It's a lot a bit of both Carr and the wrs and Carmichael
Still think that way now?
He’s absolutely a big part of the issue
agree completely.
The biggest part of the problem
These little things here or there is what Derek has done his entire career. "Just a little better pass. Just a little more of an accurate pass. Just a small tweak". At some point, you have to realize it's just not good enough.

Carr stared down the place he was throwing every play. Didn't see him look defender off ever. Kubiak and company gotta fix that
Interesting. You forgot more about football than ill ever know, but i think carr looks awful lol.
Hello, Chase Daniel for OC 🔥
They put in a new Jon Gruden offense in the Summer Camp and Gruden himself was running the drills. If the skilled position players around Derek Carr are not running the right route when the defense blitzes, Derek Carr is not the problem. There is more to football than physical abilities, your brain has to work also.
Carr might not be their only problem but happy feet is definitely a big problem
Saints won game 1
Saints won game 2
DC won against GB in the first half and WINSTON along with the defense lost that game.
DC is not a great QB but he is a good QB
Play calling ranked 32
Offensive line ranked 27
Penalties ranked 21
Receivers ranked 21
QB ranked 18.
The kicker/ punter gives opponents good field position every time.
The saints sucked 2 year ago and they sucked last year.
DC could throw sooner. And his running sucks but he is not the top 3 problems on this team.
The # 1 problem has always been the offensive line. Brees couldn't win with this offensive line
This reminds me of the movie THE REPLACEMENTS.
Winston 5-2 before injury... Wouldn't say that sucked.
Shaheed returned one for 6
@@paulbraswell6380 And Grupe missed the kick. Can we move on? Winston was 3 and out on most of his drives. Dang.🙄
@@divineeternity7268 and Carr was 5 for 20 on 3rd downs.. yes I agree move on from carr
And I look at the preseason, Carr played one series the entire preseason. And the lack of comfort in the offense is evident. Jamies/Curry #NextManUp....It's the QB, I get it but if anyone was playing at this level they would be benched or challenged during the week.
Carr isn’t the problem. The offensive line sucks and PC needs to be replaced with Jon Gruden.
That’s the problem he’s a 9 year vet. Most of the time they have control of the offense and they Will try to scan the field.
@@nazinas21 you don’t have to scan the field when you’re first read is wide open. Chase is biased. Derek isn’t the guy.

It takes time to communicate and get use to playing with a new team and new players
Let's face it.the saints don't have the best players..let's hope next year
Carr gets the players the team needs defense and offense and coaching staff.l
I'm not sold on the weak schedule thing because if we somehow miss out on the playoffs it's still a pretty good roster and we may comeback stronger his second year here.🤷⚜️💯

Damn near all those times he had to get rid of the ball and was hit a split second after on all these times Olave was "open" hard to go through progessions when the O line doesn't give you time.

Yea carr isn't the saints biggest problem, everything is a little off and it's compounding. They might need to simplify their system or something.
