Hi friends! I'm away on vacation at the moment and to ease the workload I have been going through some previously-lost Oceanliner Designs videos and republishing them. This one was a casualty of a copyright takedown and it has been re-worked and re-uploaded for you to enjoy again for the first time in over a year. This is one of the first videos I made in conjunction with the legends at Titanic Honor and Glory! I hope you like it :) ~Mike
Where are you going? Edit: at 2:42 I think I might have watched the original. I’m not sure though. I know for a fact however, that I did listen to this part on another vid
For the whistles, I was sure you were going to mention the 1999 event where they sounded the whistle publicly, to huge cheers. Quite emotional, I must say.
Those whistles were on the bottom of the ocean for 80 years, longer than the average human lifespan, and they still worked. If the company that made them still exists, I think they deserve a bonus.
Why do I tear up at every titanic video? This one had me actually crying when I think of those brave souls in the engine and boiler rooms keeping the lights on till almost the end. A good movie to watch is Saving the Titanic. It’s all about those men and not the passengers. Excellent movie that came out in 2012. I highly recommend watching it.
I like that you can appreciate the hellish death those guys faced. They were true heros and most dont give them credit for their selfless actions. Cheers
And yet, the porcelain doll head has never been seen again. (since Bob Ballard found the ship) The doll's head in Cameron's movie was a fabricated one, inspired by and made to look like the one discovered by Ballard.

I'm one of the people who is obsessed with the titanic. I was 9 when it was discovered. Watched the program on holiday, had books and a book that made 3 different paper models. 1 was half the titanic showing rooms and I was always fascinated by the pool. The 2nd was a mid sinking titanic and the 3rd was the wreck on the floor.

Whenever there is mention of Titanic, or see videos such as this, I feel a great sense of awe only made greater by a sense of sadness. Thank you for this view of her wreckage and sharing your knowledge. Imagine she had lived.
Taking a friend of mine to the Titanic Exhibit here in Vegas today, she's never been there. Brand new video perfect way to get some more insight to tell her about things today! Thank you Mike Brady, great video as always.
This channel has become one of my favorites to watch! I could listen to you talk all night Mike. It's like my own personal ASMR!! Thank you so much for all of your efforts and hard work!! Cheers!!
I've never heard the Titanic's whistle before. It made the hair on my arms stand up, the same way it did when I heard a tornado for the first time, both awe-inspiring and haunting at the same time.
I went to the Titanic exhibit at Melbourne Museum recently and saw some of these artifacts. Was absolutely fascinating what they were able to recover and were able to trace the actual owners of objects. It was amazing how they replicated parts of the ship as well, you really got a feel for actually being there.
The wreck was discovered 16 days after my 9th birthday. I read the Dec 85 issue of National Geographic and absolutely marveled at the pictures of the wreck contained within and the words by Robert Ballard describing what it was like to lay the first eyes on this ship in 73 years. And so began a lifelong fascination with Titanic and her story. I used to have reservations about the recovery of artifacts from the sea floor. I was of the opinion that they should be left alone out of reverence and respect to those that died there. But after seeing the exhibit at the Luxor hotel in Las Vegas, seeing the personal items made me think and wonder about the people that that owned and used these things. I thought about the lives they must have lived, the people they knew and loved and the hopeful futures they were looking forward to that never came. I thought about everything that these items had seen and been through to eventually make their way to me. It made me feel connected in a way to the people that were there, those that survived and perished both. It was a bittersweet experience.
Thanks to my dad for telling me all about Titanic and showing me THAT National Geographic magazine when I was 10. He kept it till the 97 film got me interested and I showed everyone in school the pictures of the dolls head and champagne bottles.
Titanic is a fascination I’ll always adore, her story and short career is incredible and is something that hat will always captive me. Thank you for this lovely and intriguing video.

The Artemis statue fact just blew me away!! For it to still be intact at the bottom of the ocean after that fall, and even after almost a century when they found it…
Growing up in the Chelsea section of Manhattan in the 1960s and early 70s, I got used to hearing the distinctive whistles of different oceanliners and seeing them glide by on the Hudson, towering over the low-rise industrial buildings near the docks. The most distinctive whistle I remember is that of the SS France (launched 1960). Her whistle was deep and sonerous -- more a horn than a whistle. I always knew when she was going by. She was decommissioned in 1974, then rechristened the Norway and refitted as a cruise ship. She was finally scrapped in 2005 after a boiler explosion killed 8 crew members in 2003, but she wasn't the ship she used to be. It was a sad end to a magnificent lady. And I still remember her deep whistle!

I have a piece from the Titanic. It's only a small piece from the boiler room, but it's fun to have and show guests........ and talk about as we try to bring back 1912 and keep the history alive.
I remember when Bob Ballard explained that there were hundreds of pairs of shoes in the debris field. Later on they had stated that these shoes would have had the victims in them as they landed on the ocean floor. What an eerie thought. I pray that they did not suffer.
There's two sets that can be seen in the opening of the Titanic movie when they are showing footage of the ship and debris field. One is a pair of men's shoes, the other a little girl's, and not far from the shoes is a doll. That image has always haunted me.
