Give me a regular blower motor with a regular capacioner any day screw the ecms.
It doesn't take much to fry those boards, I think if you look at it wrong, ka-put. You are a good man, many folks would just say it needed the board too. I am the same way, I have to sleep at night.
22:45 "Green hair. Green and purple hair..." The official uniform of the nation of 🤡WORLD! 🤣
Looked like a fedex truck. Not very professional looking. Can you believe these corporations put up with that shit? I guess they have to. I'd fire it in a second.
Omit it
Hey Curtis! You’re a Straight Up and a Very Smart Businessman which is Why you’re still in Bidnez with NO Shortage of Customer. Reputation is Everything👍🙏
👍
We have all done it , fix it and move along.
Yep I’ve done it.
Been there, done that !
I did two runs on a blower motor😂 now I know
Everybody has burnt more than one board in there career or lie about it
So Curtis how's about sending all of you subscribers 5 lbs of Good ole Georgia pecans.
If the only thing wrong with the old board is the Burned trace just solder a wire to the back of the board and keep it for a spare.
Coils on Outside are Every Bit as Important as Filters inside your Furnace. When they’re Clean, Unit has an opportunity to Run Efficiently and Reduce Breakdowns.
We’ve all made little slip ups like this but these days not many will own up to doing the damage You’re one of the good ones. I always look at being able to sleep at night vs charging someone for something that was my fault. Great job as always! Give Riley some extra belly rubs 😊
nice to see some good old fashion honesty for a change
Good policy always pays off in a good way 👍👍👍👍👍👍🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥👍👍👍👍👍
Pee Cans?
Dang. I’m not even there and that scared me 😮.
This is one reason why I harp on my techs to wear gloves all the time, unless you have to remove them for tedious work. Just a good practice for shocks and sheet metal cuts
Hey shit happens 👍👍
Very good, Curtis. We have all been there (creating another problem). That condenser coil reminded me of the condensers at a country club that we did the work for. A week after I cleaned the coils during p/m, the landscapers applied peat moss to the flower beds, had to explain to the maintenance man why they had no cooling.
I shorted out the board on 18 seer goodman heat pump because I using the lugs to power my vacuum pump with agitator clips And when I disconnected the clips I shorted out the board a 200 dollars plus mistake live and learn
Hackery fixed ....great honest job.
Good. ✅🇮🇳👌👍
You can fix that board.
That was the one you said all connections were hard to make a mistake connecting the wrong wire to on that motor board!
Good job! Don't think I would say anything to customer, fix & be done. If something else goes wrong they would think you caused that too..
i make the customer give me 5 feet clearance, all the way around.
You make them ?
All good in the Hood
Done that before, it is what it is. At least you owned up to it and made it right. Great job Curtis 👍
curtis, you are an awesome guy, great job
Curtis- you made me jump again brother! Smoked that board.... I may have done that more than once.... LOL
Looked like you got bit
Good job. Honesty cannot be beat.
What state are you in ?
Do you ever use a wrist strap to ground yourself prior to handling a new circuit board? You can fry a good circuit board with just the static electricity you have on your body. ESDS! 🙂
If static electricity is a concern, all he has to do is touch the grounded unit just prior to handling the circuit board.
@stephenburt7635 That's assuming the 'Installer" grounded the unit. Our company's Installation team had to be reminded of the importance of proper grounding and its effects on both ECM motors and "Service Technician's" health.
You're honesty is so awesome,we have all in this technical world made mistakes I just love your content.
Thanks
Now I want some pecan pie.
Sh!+ happens
28VAC is a bit high!!
Did you verify the transformer was on the correct line voltage tap?
When ohming out the motor wires they should all equal the same?
Yes, basically it’s a three phase motor…sorta
All techs should have a log book in the units like slot techs do when opening the machine to know what a previous tech did!
I usually write on lid wat I do
👍👍😊😊
!!ZAP!! camera down, and I'll guess control board down also, maybe transformer, contactor coil, other things in circuit. poo happens!
Peacans...Will work for peanuts.
I did the same exact thing on a Lennox S Class 50 ton. Blew the M1-8 Motherboard and the C1-2 slave board. They are out of stock throughout the country because of the chip shortage. I had to bypass the entire manufacturer wiring and the BACNET, then run the indoor blower, circuits 3&4 and compressor fans 4-6 all off a separate thermostat. Sucks. Lesson learned- Never pull a contact control wire while live. It’s a bad habit. Power off the unit first then isolate and insulate whatever you need to disconnect.
Make sure screws are threaded right before stripping them out!
Like your videos. Cut to the chase a little quicker my brother
Do you think you need some retraining, as some of your videos have issues you’ve caused, like when the fire Brigade got called due to an issue you’ve caused
Question high static rheem electric pack had defrost board throwing pressure switch error code no pressure switch high and low on the system replaced board same thing what did I not see
Man im glad i was done with my coffee i would have been wearing it
Before I start my own business, I worked for people who pretended that they never made a mistake and would come down hard when I made the slightest. They would then down play when they did something wrong!! That why I like your videos .. Thanks!!!
That spark made me jump 😂, great job, glad you posted this video, very valuable!
U ok curtis ??? U jumped pretty good there
Who eats the cost of the board you replaced?
@4:46...Why didn't you do that 1st ?
Awesome job Curtis 👍🏼
A real man owns his mistakes, fixes them and moves on.
Warranty
Nice job Curtis.
When replacing just the module, does it go through a new rotation sequence?
Not on these
Integrity is gold. Great job.
Integrity is key. 👍
Been there, done that.
lame clean up
1:42 - There you go, making ME jump again!
3:32 - I see you're not only the Proprietor, you're also the Branch Manager. 🤪
👍👍👍
@20:53 I would have said I need to order a part and gone fishing for the rest of the day
JK I'm a glutton for punishment, hey I'd have sold them the high pressure switch upgrade knowing that condenser coil puked up in only the 3 years since u installed it
Yep, I’ve done that years ago. From then on always undo Y connection for tstat wires, any way other than pulling at the contactor. Too easy to tough line voltage, and once you do you could fry every piece of low voltage equipment
I thought there weren’t any flashing lights when you first opened it? Maybe it was bad before you got there..
The same thing happened to me on a Lennox condenser, fried the defrost control, good thing I had a bored I took from a system I replaced.
Love the driving music and edit work!!
Great Video. Thank you for sharing
So glad to see you are human and humble. You just gained more respect from lots of people
That was nuts! (Pun intended 🐿️😁)
Honesty is the best policy 😊😊😊😊😊
Simple mistakes make interesting content ,
Good to see honest people. Have a blessed day. Great job
Guess who’s going to heaven?
They will never tell you if someone else worked on it.
Respect, Curtis.
Curtis you are the only DOCTOR i know that's willing to admit his mistakes.
maybe
😊😮🎉❤good job
Pecans are good for you. Happy Thanksgiving and God Bless Yall!
confession is good for the soul! Good job my friend
So.....what did air conditioners use before we had all these electronic circuits?? I only ask because thinking back on our system, we haven't had a mechanical problem in over 4 years, but what we have had were several board issues! Now granted our system in under a parts and labor warranty, so it's not costing me now. What I worry about is the future. Seriously though if air conditioners worked just fine without electronic boards back in the day, why do we have them now? Especially considering they fail a lot. Thanks 😊
You had r22 and 240v equaling cold air on demand. Things are different now, you should write your congressman and tell him you want the old days back
@Fuzzy Vision "r22and 240v equaling on demand cold air"????? Ok I understand r22 but what is 240v equaling on demand cold air?
