I was really surprised to see so many televote points for Italy...only 4 points less than Cyprus that had a huge hype around it. Amazing! It's a pity that for the juries they were only 17th... I don't know why Italy is always underrated by juries

So exciting to see how the results would have looked like with the 2009-2012 system, considering extreme differences between the juries and televoters!

Everything went wrong those two weeks, Spain went from being top 10 on the betting odds to outside top 20 just before the show.
Singing in second place is never a good thing, and Lithuania clearly won the votes of the people that love cheese ballads.
So we were very lucky of the lot of spaniards that were in Portugal (Portugal always vote for us on televote but the 12 points weren't guarantied without the good bunch of spaniards that were there)
How is this considered detailed televoting when it’s just the juries

No, I don't think we need LEDs because this way performances become more creative and there's more action. Cyprus put on a real show and they ended 2nd, more countries should've done the same.

Apart from a few patterns due to neighboring and migration, this is a much less biased vote than the jury one.
George Austin Tay Not that much. I mean all of Serbia's douze points came out of diaspora votes. Also ex-Yugoslav bias. Also some biased points like Finland giving 12 to Estonia or Sweden giving 12 to Denmark or Romania giving 12 to Moldova.
You see just as many, if not more patterns in the jury vote, e.g. Montenegro 12 to Serbia, Greece 12 to Cyprus, Albania 12 to Italy, Sweden and Denmark putting Australia in their top 3 (fourth year in a row they've done this) etc... I think 100% televote is a more accurate way to see who's really popular because in the end the winner doesn't win just out of neighbor and migrant voting. Indeed, seeing Serbia and Lithuania getting all those 12s from a few countries while being at the bottom of the voting in the rest of Europe is annoying.
@@GeorgeAustinTay Tell that to Dima Bilan, tho. And both juries and televoters commit crimes so yeah. Also, Albania doesnt always give it to Italy, in 2016 their jury voted for Australia and in 2014 they gave their 12 to Spain. So, yeah the current system is the best I think. The televote only era was so filled with biased voting, way more than the one here.
The results of the televote ten years ago and now are radically different - you can see there's much less bias now. Sure, it's not cute to see Lithuania getting 12 from Ireland, Norway and the UK every year or Italy giving 8-10-12 to Moldova, Albania and Romania every year because of immigration, but in the end the winning song is always the one that gets voted by almost every country.
Germany got 6 points from the Swiss TV, not 0. Hungary got 0 in return, instead of 6
