for the Neo Zeon insignia on the shields you can do a reverse wash paint that area in the color you want with acrylic then over top of that paint the whole shield in the color you want but use enamel. then come back with either lighter fluid or enamel thinner and over the area you want have under color show
In case he doesn't, I'll happily vouch for it. It has some unpleasant seam lines down the shins and some okay ones along the shoulder/collar on the torso, but otherwise it's an excellent rendition of the kit that probably couldn't be improved much more beyond how it already is. Its articulation is a bit limited, but that's mostly due to its design. If you like the Gogg, you'll love its HG rendition, and it's usually extremely cheap.

Just built this kit and it’s a blast! But the knee pipes really like to almost break on me
