- Instant Pot Recipes Episode 4 - How to cook Long Grain Brown Rice
Disclaimer. Please consult the manufacturers instructions to ensure safe operation of your pressure cooker. Whilst they are safe to use, there are safety considerations to make especially when discharging the pressure and hot steam at the end of the cooking cycle. Always ensure you operate an electric pressure cooker on a stable surface.
We only know how to cook with our electric model and we cannot guarantee the same results with a stove top pressure cooker.
Our recipes are made specifically for our Instant Pot model Duo 60 5.7 litre....you will need to scale down the recipes if you are using a smaller capacity model. We generally batch cook our dishes so we make enough for 8 to 10 portions and freeze what we aren't using although some recipes we scale down to just what we need for that day. This recipe will make 4 small portions for a starter or 2 generous portions for a lunch or dinner.
We do a lot of cooking using our Duo 60 5.7 litre electric Instant Pot and we hope to share a number of easy recipes with you over the coming months.

I'm loving these cooking videos. Congratulations on 7000 again!
Thank you. 👍😊👍
I have so many videos on instant pot cooking but you have explained it best with all your details I kindly appreciate the efforts by you
That's lovely to hear. 👍 Very many thanks. 👍😊👍
Love all your good info Paul good on ya take care 👍
Thanks Ann. 👍😊👍
We use a Zojirushi and we wash our rice three times. Only because the book said to. Richard, I think you are a very saucy dish!! xxx
I didn't know what a Zojirushi was, though have had a Google! 👍😁👍
Thank you for that very informative video. I don't have an instant pot but will certainly look into the benefits of having one in my kitchen.
As I've mentioned previously, when we were sent this by Courtney and Dave I was very "Oh... lovely, but I don't need another kitchen gadget", though how wrong I was!! 😁
Thank you both this is a great little series I am just going to look at number 1 ..x
love your ideas keep it up
Thanks Cheryl. 🤗
I use a rice cooker. However, the beauty of an Instant Pot over a rice cooker is that you can use it for so many other recipes.🍚
Indeed, versatility with the Instant Pot is a big boon. 👍😊👍
It also seems to steam it when it’s on longer releasing the pressureI would imagine and by doing it in the instant pot you don’t end up throwing the nutrients out with the extra water 🎉 I think I really should get one, thanks for explaining it in so much detail 🎉❤
Thank you... And yes it continues steaming and cooking during the natural pressure release. 👍😊👍
Looks good to me. Thank you.
Thanks Glynnis. 👍
Love the videos , thank you.
Thanks Marion - is Lisle or L'isle? 🤔
@@paulsavident Lisle, living in Scotland at the moment, born in N.E. England….. L’isle sounds more French & very stylish 🤣
@@marionlisle8145Ah yes, though just looked it up and very likely Norman by origin like my own. 👍 There are quite a few in Guernsey, mainly de L'Isle. 👍👍👍
Thanks for the instant pot recipes. Can you add salt to the rice or will that cause it to stick?
You could add salt if you wish. 👍 Also herbs, citrus peel or cardamom pods. 👍😊👍
Why not use the Rice button? Upper right.
Why rinse rice? I never do for my rice cooker.
No salt or butter? (OK, Paul answered that.)
I use twice the water. Do Instant Pot's do it differently? Will it be soft?
Later, Lads.

Jon, I don't find the Rice button cooks LGB rice as well as this method. 👍 It's always good to wash rice as it gets off any dirt, dust and debris that may have been packed with it. 😬 Also, washing rice removes excess starch that may have rubbed off the rice whilst packing and carriage, and doing this helps the rice be more fluffy. 👍😊👍 I don't have a rice cooker so can't comment on the different ways they cook. 🤔
I have always done 1 cup rice to 1.5 to 2 cups water but I tried the 1:1 as Paul suggested and the rice turned out beautifully.
So glad this worked for you... though I was sure it would as it works for me every time. 😁 @@witsonsmom729
