You’re channel is you. You’re videos are very educational and it’s clear that is what you enjoy. You’re sincere and true to who you are and I feel like you would be the exact same person if so met you. Keep doing what you do! The musical theater world needs it ❤️🎶

I think the main reason people quick cut is because they can’t sit and talk consistently without messing up. I think you’re just a talented talker so don’t need to use them 😅

I was going to say the same thing. I think some do it for effect - most do it because they mess up and don’t want to do their whole segment over again.
PLEASE don't start doing crazy cuts. Your videos are perfect the way you do it! You don't need the distractions to keep viewers interested. 🎭
Thank you Marc Daniel Patrick for increasing my knowledge of musical theatre. I used to say I liked musicals, now I know to look for all the subtleness in the acting and singing and then appreciating the whole show even more. So thank you.
I'm getting married this fall. This will either be our song or for my parents ; I'm getting married on their 35th anniversary. They still hold hands every time they walk together. Thanks for the video. I like that you don't rely on fast cuts and close ups; I saw too much of that in film school. I'm surprised that Raycon hasn't sent you an offer and a pair of ear buds. I really enjoy your style. I've viewed a couple other vocal reactions and they do not compare. In video style or comments. You feel the feels when you are watching and you further bring the songs to life, giving another way to view. And your facial expressions when thinking of a taste at 1030a, is even more of what I'm here for. As long as you stay authentically you, you'll do great!

I had the same thoughts you did about the title, "there are some big shoes to fill" but I will admit, I pulled an MDP the first time I heard the song and got emotional. My eyes even started leaking a bit. Beautiful lyrics, wonderful instruments supporting him. Yeah, weird dance sequence but it still somehow works. I agree e will be hearing this in a lot of weddings coming up.
When I saw the flying I immediately understood the song and the choreo. It's possible his flying dances are exactly how I imagine singing when full of joy.
I don't think you "need" to do the quick cuts at all. I echo those who have said that it's mostly for grabbing and keeping attention and you do that without them. But I did cackle aloud when you did your quick cut mock. That was hilarious.
Would love to hear your reaction to him singing "Flight". (By himself, when he was in high school.)

He is baritone manly w/tenor flourish. Not sure what that is- but I like it Lol
I also luved the choreography & movement - is was so expressive and fun. I didn't think theatricality was too much- it added to feeling for me.

as someone who lives on youtube, I'd say what makes a channel successful is by just being themselves... a lot of us find it refreshing, too. A great example of this is Van Neistat (Casey Neistat's older brother) who has a new channel but also DOESN'T watch youtube just like you, and you can tell he is just very genuinely being himself without the influence of all these other people. Seriously go check him out, it's art. I think people are looking for that genuine-feel these days so please just keep doing you. We're here for it ♥

First time watching you. You are so much more articulate than most of the other reviewers. So pleased how much you like this but I'm a little surprised that you didn't mention the auto-tune (or whatever it is) on top of Ben's extraordinary voice. Doesn't need it and it makes him sound too much like all the others. Ben's so fine!

I notice people stumble on their words a lot or of something is not perfect, jump cut. They could be talking for hours and you need to cut stuff out=jump cut.
I agree. You do not need to go crazy with it. Use it when necessary.
The song is great but all the stuff they did to it in edits or whatever feels like a throwback ‘80’s song- which works great- buuut it would be interesting to just see what he sounds like singing it live or acoustic, sans the effects 🤷♀️

Please do not do quick cuts. It's an easy editing trick when they mess up or need to condense what they say. It also would be a distracting style for your video topics. Your videos don't need that. You walk through an entire video with a good pace that doesn't need cuts.
Please don't start zooming and making quick edits! Also, please don't use such small letters for quotes.

I love Ben Platt with a white hot passion and I detest this vidro. The song is serious and meaningful and Ben's voice is perfect but the setting, reverb, jumping around don't match the song. The director of this schmaltz should never be hired again.

I like Ben Platt, but this too much acting for a music video.
I have a little confession... I don't get Ben Platt. I don't think he's good. I don't like his voice. I am not a fan. To me, he simply does not have a great voice unless you over-produce him (like this track).
