Thank you Julian for making this video as I’m a stroke survivor who’s hemiphelgic and lost the use of my left side and arm of my body to paralysis and as I used to be a competitive rugby player I’m so desperate to play at least one sport again and this video has given me so much hope that at the very least playing golf again may be a strong possibility so thanks again Julian Mellor🙏🏽😘🏌🏾♂️⛳️
I'm an avid veteran golfer w/ a badly broken L arm due to a motorcycle accident. I want to play golf with just my right arm, and I'm just curious how your game is coming along....(?)
I’ve been having difficulties for the past two seasons with my fairway woods and driver. As a one handed golfer seeking to get consistency, I have sought the help of many coaches. Regrettably they have only succeeded in destroying what was an adequate swing! To correct these taught errors I’ve invested in all sorts of new equipment to no avail. I’ve watched Julians video and was surprised at his ability to understand and demonstrate the swing. I took his examples to the course yesterday for the first time. My two playing partners expected the same game as last week! However, shot after shot was improving with the. modified swing that Julian has shown. I on a 400 yd par four normally hit 5 to get to the green. Yesterday I was was at the green in two, the fairway wood got the flight and bounce I’d never had for two years!! Suffice to say my partners were speechless at the improvement in my overall play, but more importantly I reduced my round yesterday by 16 strokes. Julian has revolutionised my game and confidence. Thank you Julian you achieved in your video what 5 pga professionals and a national golf coach didn’t achieve? You’ve taken time to understand the dynamics of playing golf one handed.
Wow Colin, what an inspirational message to read, so pleased that you have benefited from watching the video. So pleased for you and thank you for sharing with us. Let’s hope that more 1 armed golfers get the same benefits. ( Feeling inspired )
That’s awesome, Johnathan. I’ve coached many golfers with different issues and with a bit of out the box thinking most things can be overcome. Have a brilliant Christmas and always here if you need any help. Kindest regards, Julian
Cheers mate, I've been playing one armed golf right handed without the right arm for about 20 years now, and the hardest thing for me is still getting my body movement right. I'll keep working on the tips you provided. thanks for making the video.

THANK YOU MARTIN FOR REQUESTING THIS VIDEO I’m finding it very useful as well as I lost the use of my left to paralyzed from a stroke that’s effected my entire left side and this video you requested has given me hope for one day with a time and a lot of practice to be able to play golf again myself so thanks again for requesting this video be made Martin🙏🏽😘🏌🏾♂️⛳️🙏🏽👍🏽
I'm a right handed golfer and I recently tore my right rotator cuff. Your post and video has inspired me and I will go to the driving range and try it out. Thank you so much!
What an amazing commitment to help every type of golfer. You should be extremely proud of yourself. I got a lot from this video as a two handed golfer. Nobody ever talks about how much the left or right hand is dominant or not in the golf swing but by seeing you demonstrate the way to play if you only have one hand or arm available I can see that however you get the club down to the point of impact with the ball it is the relaxed swing method you have taught that produces the result- the same easy swing method. Excellent instruction and motivation. Thank you so much.
Hi Julian, thanks for making this video. As you know I have been playing one handed for a bit over 12 months, following a motorbike accident, and this video reinforces all that I have been practicing and your truly effortless swing is ingrained in my mind as something to work on. Keep up the great work! Cheers, Rod
Great video Julian, I had a stroke five years ago and play better golf with just my good right hand. Having seen you, I think I should swing easier, rather than try to muscle the ball.
Hi Julian, I had my left arm amputated almost 5 years ago and trying to play golf again. I was a left handed golfer so still using my left handed clubs to play. Your video has helped me as I was using all arm and swinging way to hard. By slowing the swing down and using my body the ball is going much further.
Hi Randy, your message is so inspirational, remember using your elbow and wrist as two leavers is so important. Matching your body and arm movement to access great coordination is key. You stick with it as the game of golf teaches us so many things.🙏
I tried playing one handed today. The course just opened as I got the cast of my fracture wrist and schaphoid after 7 weeks. Did ok on the par 3 course. Going out on the 18 hole course tomorrow, and is definitely going to try this. I think my main problem was trying to keep my arm straight. It didn’t feel right, and everything was tensing up. Also, I didn’t know what to do with my other arm. I kind of just let it swing in the same direction as my good arm. Can’t wait.
So I went out today. Tried bending my arm more and kept my left arm behind my back. Had some terrible shots, but alot of decent ones and a few very good ones. Toed a few, thinned a few, some were too deep. I was afraid the driver was going to be to much of a handfull, since I struggle with it using two hands. I slice a lot... But a couple of times I ended up places that I would have been happy with under normal cirumstances. Sure, they were far from perfect and not very high and I did get a fair amount off roll thanks to the now dry fairways. And they were straight! Haven’t seen that in a while. Sadly, those were the holes where the following shots were bad, and I ended up with 0 points. But hey, you can’t take the good shots away from me. Just shows there is potential. Even got a par on a dogleg right par 4. 9 holes - 10 points; 50 shots.
Thank you for all the great information I will definitely be practicing this new swing technique watching you do that makes so much sense I don’t know why I hadn’t thought of it earlier thanks again
Just fractured my left wrist so thought I would lose golf season - your attitude and instruction have motivated me to try and not stay away. Thank you! Let me know if you have any thoughts on short game (chipping and pitching). Thanks again!
Practise practice practise, you’ll be surprised at the amount of feel you’ll have. Good luck with your recovery and stay positive, take this time to learn more about what you’re capable of 👍
Fantastic Julian! This is a great drill for even a healthy two handed golfer. I takes a very smooth, tension free swing to hit it with only one hand. The Gravity Golf folks use this drill in teaching their system, which btw, is very similar in it's philosophy to Easiest Swing. I also struggled as a right handed golfer to hit it well with the left hand. Thanks for this great video.
Recently done some tendon damage to my left hand in which I could not use to play golf . I was walking around the course with my wife and decided to try to use one of her clubs to see if I could hit the ball with just my right hand. To my wifes amazement I was hitting the ball further and better than her with two hands. After some months still having treatment but still enjoying playing golf with one hand.
Recently dislocated my left shoulder - still very much in recovery and won’t be out and about doing very much for some weeks. Desperate to get back on the golf course, terrified of dislocating shoulder again. When I’m a bit better I’ll try these techniques - thanks for a great video, such a smooth swing, even one handed.
Julian, thank you for the one arm golf swing. I'm a right handed golfer who's been pulling/hooking my shots, because of right arm dominance. Unfortunately, l experienced a right arm bicep tear recently. I just accompanied my wife while she golfed, and decided to try your one arm method. So using my left arm, I did some chipping and to my surprise, my chipping was superior to my normal chips. No tees either. However, I'm looking forward to my recovery, and your tip will most likely help by tempering my right arm dominance. Thanks again. Dick
Sorry to hear about your injury, but in a way it has enabled you to learn a new skill, take these learnings to the course in the future and should you need help with your golf I’d be happy to help ( www.propergolfing.com )
Julian, I once again tried to hit with one hand, and now it seems I either top it and goes left or I hit behind the ball. This is the same issue had before when I used both hands. I thought my right hand had taken over the swing, but it may not be the case. Something else is bugging my swing. I will try to continue the one handed swing, while hopefully my right bicep will heal quickly and I can go back to the two handed swing that hopefully gets corrected. Thank you Julian.
Brilliant! I just tore my rotator so I’m going to keep playing. I’d given it a try while on my last round when I was unable to make a swing with both hands but didn’t have much success. I’ll be practicing this weekend so maybe I can play in the league play.

I lost my left arm few years ago and recently picked up the game. This gave me so much encouragement starting on. I started off topping the ball and slicing it right. I worked on my swing in the 9 times I’ve played 18 and I’m getting straighter but I’m only hitting about 185yds with driver. Average 120 a round and my best is 116. Best 9 is 54 I was recently told that I should consider playing left handed. Could you please make more one handed content this is by far the best advice on the web to play 1 handed.

Rather than taking a full backswing, focus on a small backswing maybe taking the club 2ft back and getting good hip rotation, weight transfer, lag and shaft lean going, then work your way up to a full swing.
